The service was very good and the food was excellent value for money on the early menu. We enjoyed ourselves, but found the wines a bit expensive.

Lovely food and outstanding service. The staff are very attentive, and ensure you are well looked after throughout. I even had complimentary Kir Royales as it was my birthday, and a candle in my dessert and the staff singing me 'Happy Birthday'!

Just great! Cote Brasserie is our favourite restaurant! We now eat in Bristol, Exeter and Dorchester on a regular basis. We love the place, perhaps Exeter the most.

Lovely evening with attentive staff and very good food and wine. We go to Dorchester Côte regularly as it is consistently good. Their early evening menu is excellent value. Ideal eating their before a visit to the cinema.

The decor, atmosphere, staff and the drinks are all fine but it is always the food that disappoints me in that portions are a bit scanty and I always wonder how fresh the ingredients are; I do not recall ever having eaten anything here that rates anything more than average. That said we are always made very welcome, the seating is comfortable, there is plenty of space about the place and the ladies loos are spotless, well designed and good quality soaps and hand cream supplied.

Our favourite restaurant in Dorchester but food all came too fast this time. I ordered the Beetroot salad with goats cheese dressing but it wasn't great. But in contrast the Fish pie I chose for main course was excellent ...always great service at this restaurant and friendly staff but remember diners need a little rest time before the next course ...

The food was absolutely lovely. The service was quite slow throughout which was a shame. The three courses took just under 3 hours and the restaurant was not that busy. The staff were very friendly throughout, however there was only three staff on for the whole evening thatvwe saw and at each table two staff out of the three served at each time, i am unsure why.

It was a nice meal. Good food quality, which was well presented. Staff were friendly and helpful. My only gripe is with the bill which had the "Optional Gratuity" on it, which I had no option but to pay as it was already added to the bill.

Two of us had Moules for starters, both portions contained closed Moules, which must not be eaten. Plus the dish did not taste right! The main and puddings were lovely.

Service was slow. Regarding the Breton chicken dish: the chicken was very dry and the Provençal sauce was desiccated. Espresso coffee served in small glasses and was too hot to handle so caused some spillage onto clothing. Staff apologised and served another express in a cup.

A very enjoyable experience again. Consistently good food and friendly, efficient service. One small criticism - most French restaurants that I know provide bread as a matter of course and wouldn't think of charging for it. £2.40 Is quite a lot of money to pay for bread, as delicious and copious as it is. I am very fortunate that Cote is just across the square from where I live. It's a great little restaurant.

Food very good. Service a little slower than usual because only two waiting staff were on duty for several covers including a large birthday party. Also, no wine waiter or bar staff so drinks were slow in arriving. This is not a complaint, just an observation for group management to attend to (Do not blame the staff!) The new booking service is rather out of character and below my expectation - rather too much join us, make your friends join us, rather than making Cote retain its special feel of no pressure visiting. It feels like the accountants might have had and won their say, rather than the previous focus on high quality service. Will self service be the next initiative to save money. I do hope not!

Not impressed. Ordered the crispy confit duck. Seemed to have been microwaved. No salad or vegetables came with the duck unless order as a side. All the restaurants I have eaten at in France have complimentary bread. Waiter asked if we had finished, cleared our table but never came back with the bill. More than ten minutes sat there trying to pay our bill. A very noisy restaurant, was hoping for a romantic meal for two but could not talk without raising your voice. To sum up, Average food average service.
