I had booked a table for 4.30pm for three people on Sunday we arrived on time and were seated at the table there appear to be a great shortage of waiting staff and we sat for nearly 10 minutes before anybody at ended out able out orders were taken and the complementary water arrived a bottle of wine we ordered came soon after the starters talk of further 15 minutes before they arrived in table and again we had quite a wait before the main course was so as the performance at the opera house started at 6.30 PM we did not have time for deserts sadly this is my worst experience of this branch of cote the the restaurant itself was exceptionally quiet and I'm not sure what the two waitresses that were attending the tables were doing but they did not appear to be looking after the customers
Took a friend there for a late lunch, as I am always talking about this restaurant. She is not one for chain restaurants, but was thoroughly surprised by the quality of food, professionalism of staff and service. She enjoyed the food and I was glad that this restaurant did not disappoint. The only reason I gave a five star rating instead of six was that the bottled water was not chilled, but the staff did replenish our glasses with plenty of ice. Otherwise it was PERFECT!! Thank You!
Lovely food and great service as always from Cote. Staff were cheerful, attentive and excellent. Portion sizes just right. Good choice on the pre theatre menu. Would definitely eat here again.
Had a fabulous meal, and as always the service was excellent. Complimentary let royels, as it was my birthday, which were lovely. We have been going to the vote restaurant in covent garden for over 10 years and always try to find one when ever we are out doing a theatre trip.
Have been a frequenter of Cote for several years now They NEVER disappoint - always very dependable We use 3 of thei restaurants in London and my family and I use 3 in Surrey
Great service as usual at the Côte Brasserie, Covent garden. The food is good and the staff are always very pleasant. Nothing is too much trouble.
Food was as good as it always is and theatre dinner so reasonably priced. However on my last visit (Tues 18th July) the staff outdid themselves with their friendliness and professionalism.
Fantastic service, lovely good and great atmosphere. Quick and good value, especially if you are going onto the theatre or a show. Good choice of food.
This was our 3rd visit to this Cote and, once again it was superb. We were cheerfully greeted by the manager and by our friendly and efficient waitress. The choice of food was excellent with some different combinations of ingredients. A very good start to an evening out. Thank you. Tim & Helen
The first course of apple, endive and roquefort salad bore no resemblance to what was stated on the menu which hardly any roquefort cheese and no endive. Very poor.
Generally good overall staff courteous and attentive but ran out of Camembert for the main on the set menu which was a disappointment. Being a cheeese I thought it would have been a staple! For a French restaurant
Booking was for 3 people, pre-theatre on a Thursday at 5pm. Lovely friendly and attentive staff, a credit to the restaurant. Food was good and great value. Thank you! Toilets unfortunately situated, right next to the kitchen and are very small and there is a lot of waiter traffic, (this is in no way a negative comment against staff, rather a notice for the owner).
The restaurant was very busy as it was pre-theater. But this didn't stop the waiters providing excellent service. Excellent value with the set menu and good food.
As always the food was great and the service excellent. There were 11 of us for pre-theatre lunch and everything went perfectly. Have been many times and will definitely return
Get there much earlier than you need to if you have to get to the theatre. Food good but are in 4 min and ran after waiting for 35 min!
Good service, good menus, at a little prices. Perfect before a show in the theatre near from the restaurant. Really good experience in this french "brasserie"!
The food and service good but felt very cramped at our table for 4, could have done with more space. Would recommend all the same.
Lovely friendly staff so a very congenial atmosphere - and we were given the table I'd asked for (which we knew is for 4 when we were only 2) so could hear each other as its in a quiet corner. Food very good (pink duck and good fishcakes) and wine properly chilled
Good value pre-theatre dinner. Busy as expected, friendly staff kept us informed about food service timings. Recommended and never been disappointed at any Cote restaurants.
One of the waiters was a bit rude. The garlic butter for the steak came late and straight from the fridge. Experience was OK but not as good as Oxford Circus.
Good pre theatre menu. Good choice, good value. £13.95 for three courses. We had a table of 8 and service was good even though the place was full.
Tables were very close together to the point of making it difficult to get between them Food was good with fast & pleasant service. Ideal for a quick bite before the theatre.
Good range of food, on specials, pre-theatre and full menu. Good celection of wines. Complimentary table water without asking. Altogether, a good meal. Will return.
varied menu great service good vegetarian choice lovely waitress Vanessa at Covent garden very sweet great locations cloth napkins good cutlery fab atmosphere excellent value
Nice atmosphere - dependable and well priced food. Tavistock Street is in a great position for Covent Garden etc and the quality/price ratio is excellent for the area.
Great food service and ambience would visit again. Only comment is that tables could be spaced out a little more, but appreciate this probably not financially feasible
Great food and service as usual, the menu has changed slightly and so I was a bit disappointed that a couple of my favourite dishes were no longer on the menu but still had a great meal.
5 of us ate there today. 2 of us enjoyed the good value pre theatre menu - I had the steak frites (close my eyes and I'm in France). 2 vegetarians found stuff that they wanted to eat, and apparently the mushroom and spinach crepes were extremely tasty. A very reasonable bill at the end . The only criticism? a few more olives and a more generous bread allowance for the nibbles beforehand would have gone down well.
The service was very good as was the food. We were shown to a very comfortable window seat. Unfortunately I had to question the bill but this was soon rectified without issue.
Good food and excellent service.staff very friendly. Perfect location for a pre theatre meal with friends. Cote is always our first choice. Well done Cote.
Four of us friends there for dinner before heading to see musical 'Beautiful' - Cote Brasseries are my favourite places to eat before theatre as such great service, good choices of delicious food and very reasonable prices. Many thanks to all who work at Cotes.
Nice evening at cote, food was really good as Leah's and the service was expand too none. Highly recommend to anyone that is looking for a good value and great service
Quality of food and drink and service good and speedy but the restaurant was so extremely noisy it was difficult to have any conversation with companions.
Very good. Nice atmosphere, good quality food with variety of dishes to choose from, good service so in plenty of time for theatre after pre theatre meal. Set menu great value. Will definitely return and recommend to others.
Usual quality of Cote was a bit off today; service as warm as ever, but goat cheese salad was composed almost entirely of inadequately roast onion and lettuce - little sign of other veg. Clearly stocks were run down in the hot weather, but this option should have been removed from the menu. The "crouton" was also untoasted, sadly - all rather miserable. Other choices were okay, but it might be a while before we return to Cote.
I have visited here on several occasions and have never been disappointed with the food. Excellent value for money. Nice atmosphere. Also great before theater.
Quick, friendly service. Food good value for money to suit most pockets. Nice atmosphere. Would definitely recommend it to friends. Convenient to Theatre land and Covent Garden.
Excellent food - delicious [ as always ] served by very friendly and helpful staff . We experienced excellent customer from a delightful young Italian girl
Food was delicious as usual and we were going to have dessert but tan out of time as we were gong to the theatre. The restaurant was really busy so not quite as fast as usual but the service was impeccable.
No air conditioning, very hot and had heating on by window. Food good, very busy restaurant but great location next to the theatre for the shows.
Love the food at Cote - fixed price menu is excellent value with a good choice of dishes. Service was good as well. Only issue is that being fully booked it was noisy to the level where conversation became difficult - not their fault but don't expect a quiet meal!!
Service and food as consistent as it is in any other Cote...that is what I like about your restaurants..you can rely on it being a pleasant experience. The one problem at the Tavistock restaurant is the 'Ladies Loo'. It is down steep stairs, it is VERY small...difficult to get in to especially if someone else is waiting... and you have to wait outside in the way of staff carrying food from the kitchen upstairs to the restaurant. Yesterday one of the two loos was out of order and the other one had a very faulty loo seat and no loo paper. !! The restaurant was very busy with people waiting for tables which didn't make things easier. I understand that it is problem of space and location in that restaurant but what you do have does need to be greatly improved and MONITERED regularly.
In the restaurant there was quick service and great food. Also the attentive waitresses made the experience great for a quick after work meal out.
Great food as always although the service felt a little impersonal, as they were very busy! They also forgot to bring out the bread before the starters, but they allowed us to change the order quickly and were very apologetic about what had happened.
Very busy when I arrived so a bit of a wait for the table even though I'd book. Nice glass of complimentary fizz while I waited though. Food is very tasty and came out fast prior to our theatre show. Good friendly service and a wide menu choice. I would recommend.
Bit disappointed that the fish courses were not available and soup advertised on the menu was different. Otherwise had a good time though had to remind the waiter that we were waiting starter dish
We were advised by a friend to book in advance as the Restaurant was popular. We booked for Saturday the 8th of July at 17:30 hrs. When we arrived there were a few people in front of us who had not booked and had to be turned away. We were then immediately shown to our table by the window. Food was very good indeed. Service was efficient and fast. One very small niggle - it was a very warm day but the heating was on by the window! We mildly complained and it was promised that it would be seen too. This was a first visit to Cote Brasserie. The price was very reasonable for the West End. I like the fact that a small percentage (lower than 10%, I think) was added to the bill and a notice given that the gratuity all goes to the staff. We intend to book Charlotte Street branch for next Wednesday we we go to 'An American in Paris'.
Great food, at brilliant price, had the pre-theatre meal was very good, would go again, only downside is it was very busy so got forgotten about plus on a hot day the air con was not that great.
Great ambiance and good food. Excellent value for £ on the pre theatre deal. Why not try it out for yourselves. You will be pleasantly surprised.
We booked to go there as it was close to the Aldwych theatre. The underground was packed, the streets were busy, and we were therefore late for our table we had booked, and understandably they had given it away, as it was so busy, however, the staff were fabulous and let us stay at the front of the queue and found us another table quite quickly. We had the pre-theatre menu, lovely food, and each course came very fast. Lovely place, does get very crowded around theatre times, but that shows how popular it is and other people must rate it highly too. Would go to a Cote restaurant again definitely, Thank you
