Pleasant festive atmosphere. Decent food and ambience. Great location in the centre of town and perfect post ice skating at Somerset house. Enjoyed lunch here and are repeat customers.
I love the Cote chain! We had the pre-theatre menu - three courses for £15.95. We started with the smoked mackerel rillettes which were delicious. These were followed by sea bream and steak frites which were also very tasty. Finally we had the home made creme caramel which was out of this world - probably the best I have ever had. The place also has a great atmosphere and the service was very good. Where else in central London can you get this great value? Great work, Cote!
Helpful friendly staff. Some choices on the pre-theatre menu were already out of stock at 6pm. Altogether a good choice close to several top theatres and Covent Garden Piazza
Good service. Very efficient. Good atmosphere. Grilled prawn starter delicious. Chicken plat rapide a little uninteresting but potatoes very good. A good venue for pre theatre supper.
Good service and better food which was of reasonable value
Probably the most disappointing visit to a Cote that I’ve had. On a cold night we had a table that was nastily in the draught of the doorway so kept getting blasted with cold air as people came and went. We’d pre-booked, but despite enquiring there was no alternative table forthcoming (party of 5). The waitres was polite but ineffective, basically saying “it’s beyond my control”. We all chose the lamb parmentier from the pre-theatre menu and were told (at 5:25pm) they had sold out. Cue five people all having to make second choices. Food was fine, no complaints given very modest price of the early menu. Wine was fine too, although the first bottle was a little under-chilled. Cote is a good chain, and we usually have good food, Good (if slightly slow) service, and a decent selection of dishes. But this was a poor night. We aren’t usually in central London and perhaps it’s harder to achieve the usual standards just off Covent Garden. Toilets were also a bit grotty!
Great food, great service and very conveniently situated for the theatre. When I asked for a different table to the one we were first given there was no problem in moving us even though restaurant was very busy. Gluten free menu was fantastic.
Cote was a fantastic venue for a Christmas Eve lunch post ice skating. Great food, wine and really helpful staff. Happy Christmas to one and all.
Pleasant restaurant - food pretty good. I had the onion soup and the bread on it could have been grilled. Steak fine and the puddings.
Had a great table, food was as good and reliable as ever for a pre-theatre meal. Couple of downsides - I did specifically have to request the two/three course menus. Not sure if this was oversight or pushing me into upsell. Waiter seemed extremely keen to do everything to get us out as soon as possible - to free the table, so forced us to make dessert choice at the beginning of the meal. Overall, though, an enjoyable meal.
Lovely evening with a window table so that was special. I had smoked salmon and belly pork with my husband having prawns and belly pork also - marvellous. The service was excellent and a definite re-book next time we are in town!!
Setting was perfect, the service was brilliant. Very warm welcoming and the food was amazing. I will definitely be returning there back again. Thank you😊
Excellent food but comparatively poor service today. I have been before and I will be back but I hope the service is better next time - because next time you won’t have the excuse of it being Christmas.
Good food. Good service. Good atmosphere. Great window table. Very reasonable prices. What's not to like? We have been before and will certainly go again.
I had a fillet steak medium rare and it was cooked properly but the meat was not rested when served and I ended up with a plate of blood which was not appetising. I mentioned this to the waitress who suggested I had it cooked for longer so I concluded she did not understand the issue of letting meat rest
Speedy service without feeling rushed and a sensible Christmas menu. Cobdidering the time of year and the number of office parties in, they did a great job with good quality food
The location is fantastic. We were near the window/doorway and it was very draughty. Also the smell of people smoking outside wafted through the doorway. The first meals delivered to my grandchildren were incorrect. The waiter apologise and the meals were replaced. with four young children aged 9 - 6 time is of the essence to keep them sitting and well behaved in a restaurant so any delay is frustrating. However the food when it did arrive was very good.
The restaurant was very busy and there was a very large group of people having a Christmas party and it was very noisy. I understand it is not the fault of Cote but that is why I rated 5, as it did spoil our enjoyment a little.
It’s Christmas! And so, despite the excellent special menu, it was rather noisy due to large groups of office parties.
Excellent food, very nice, helpful staff. My one complaint - the coffee was horrible, very bitter tasting. Until a couple of months ago I thought Cote coffee was nice, the last twice I've eaten at Cote I thought the coffee was very disappointing. Have you changed your coffee supplier? If so, can we go back to the old one?
Great service...but our party of 6 was put on a table meant for 4 and in the way of people passing all the time,so chairs kept on getting knoacked
My favourite Côte of all. The food was delicious as always. A reliable delight of authentic French fare served by friendly enthusiastic staff. I will most definitely be coming back. An excellent choice for pre and post theatre or any time for that matter.
Good food & efficient service even though it was very busy. Good variety of choice on the menu. Good food & efficient service even though it was very busy. Good variety of choice on the menu.
We booked to eat at Cote before going to a show. The staff were friendly, and the food was very good. Would go back to eat and happy to recommend.
The food was fine and the ambience was what we have come to expect, which is NOISY, even though we were allegedly placed in a quiet corner. We enjoyed the Loin of Pork, the Butternut Squash soup, the Salmon Fishcakes and the Sea Bream. However, by the time I had finished my starter, my guest's soup still hadn't arrived. It did appear eventually but on the bill we were charged extra for the soup, despite the fact that we had ordered just two courses each from the set-menu and paid for same. Service a little erratic, I think.
Myself and a friend went for a meal after going to a matinee on Tuesday afternoon, knowing the restaurant would be busy because of the Christmas period we pre booked a table for 3.00pm. Despite the fact the restaurant was extremely busy, the waiting staff were extremely attentive, the food and service was up to the excellent standard I have come to expect at this branch of cote. I’m looking forward to sampling the Christmas menu later this week
Another fantastic visit to this lovely place - the food, service and atmosphere excellent as always - thank you so much yet again - Merry Christmas to everyone @ Cote.
We had yet another fantastic evening at Cotes Covent Garden. All the go above and beyond making each customer feel very special. We were given a warm welcome by Marcus, who despite being really busy kept all his staff smiling and happy. Cotes Covent Garden is the only place to eat for us . Thank you so much for great service - great food and great waiters and waitresses.
Very pleasant experience, with tasty food and friendly service. I would have given a top rating, but was disappointed that my main course dish of choice was not available.
We booked to have lunch after seeing Rigoletto at the Royal Opera House. The restaurant was busy and there was a short delay in serving our starters which our waiter apologised for before we had even noticed it. As ever the food and service was excellent as was the value for money.
We had quick service, the early menu was good value and nicely presented and the staff very friendly. Couldn't fault it and this is our second visit to this restaurant, pre -theatre.
A very pleasant evening, the service and the food were very good, no complaints whatsoever. The menu choice was vast, Christmas menus were available and we were allowed to 'cross-menu' which was excellent. I do enjoy eating in the Cote chain of restaurants, reasonably priced and you know that the food is going to be good.
Friendly and efficient as had concert to go too. Food was excellent, drinks were fine, service was very good despite it being busy. Would go again.
Food good, atmosphere good, waiting staff very good, price reasonable for the area. Only slight problem was there are only two ladies toilets and one was blocked.
Very atmospheric and bustling. staff were brilliantly chilled and helpful in the face of a very busy restaurant. Great meal and experience. Thorughly recommended location.
Excellent - always enjoy Cote wherever I go but this was particularly good today. Enjoyed our lunch very much and had very good service. Thank you
Kept waiting for 5 minutes when we arrived before being taken to our table. A busy night but no attentive service. Very small table with my wife sat beneath the coat hooks for other diners' overcoats. Had to move so they could collect them. very small table. Steaks were great though.
We booked this restaurant as it was nearby the theatre. I asked for the gluten free menu and I was given a separate menu which I must say was very impressive! My starter and main course was excellent! The restaurant was completely full but they still managed to get our meals out quiet quickly. I would recommend it to other gluten free customers.
Everything works on this place. Very efficient, very good food and ok price. Have been here for some years and will come back for sure. The staff is pretty much from hole europe around, but speaks good english and in a sharming way. See you!
Food OK. Service OK. We were cramped onto a table at the back of the restaurant. Starters turned up at the same time as the olives and bread making the table very overcrowded with food. I wouldn't return to this restaurant, lots more choice locally
Wonderful food, service. Only 2 female loos in a tiny space and had to queue in the corridor by the kitchen, blocking the way for the service of food.
Food good. Service very good (particularly as the place was packed, just before Xmas). And it's very convenient, both for Covent Garden and the Opera House.
Fabulous!! Food was delicious, service was amazing, friendly, helpful staff. Great ambience. Everything you expect from a Côte experience, but I’d say Côte Tavistock raised the bar even further. Thank you for a lovely evening.
Service and food excellent! No more words needed what I have said says it all! We look forward to return visit to the restaurant chain.
As always, the warm welcome, the smiling waiters, the good food,, beautifully served, was all that we have come to expect and enjoy from the Cotes restaurants we have visited. Dining in any of them is pleasure and a delight.
Food was lovely, good reasonably priced food, excellent value and staff were brilliant. Experience was thoroughly enjoyable. Would recommend highly and would re visit. Lovely all round restaurant.
We had a first class lunch with excellent service in a warm friendly atmosphere. As always at this branch of cote the food was well presented and superbly cooked.
Great food, good atmosphere, friendly service. Perfect location for a break from Christmas shopping. We had a pre-Christmas family lunch and everyone was happy. Phew!
The restaurant was very busy, so for the first time I and my friends were told our table was needed, but the food was excellent and our waitress was lovely. I do not know her name, but she was Romanian. As usual the only downside for me with Côte is the noise levels.
Had a very good meal etc. Only problem (and definitely not your fault) was that it was difficult to have a conversation with all the 'party' noise going on!
