This is a great Cote; always a good atmosphere and the staff are lovely. The food as always was excellent and at a great price. The pre-theatre menu is well priced and excellent.
We arrived at a very busy pre theatre period, but had reserved a table. We were shown a couple of tables which we rejected as they were only 6” away from the table next to it. The tables in Cote are without doubt some of the worst we’ve seen in this respect. We noticed a table where we wouldn’t be touching elbows with other diners and placed our order with a very pleasant waitress. Our food arrived promptly : scallops and chicken liver parfait to start and Breton chicken and sirloin to follow. The scallops were wonderful and the parfait is always a favourite, as is the chicken. My sirloin however was once again undercooked. This happened in December after I had asked our waiter if the chef was an “under” or “over” when it came to cooking steaks. I ordered the steak as medium, but on both occasions it was medium/rare with the one in December having to go back to the kitchen as it was rare at best. In summary, we enjoyed our meal overall, the atmosphere was very good as was the service, and if not for the slightly undercooked meat it would have been 5*
Pre-theatre deal meal is excellent. As usual, the staff were warm, friendly and hospitable. I arrived early for my pre-booked table, staff kindly offered to seat me at my table and let me stand in the cold. The food was yummy and our wine was delicious. You can always count on Cotes to deliver a top class service! Highly recommend!
The waiting staff were delightful and food sublime! Well prepared authentic French cuisine. Thankyou everyone!
Marking would be 3.5. Food was Ok but nothing special. We were placed extremely close to the unisex toilet door which we didn't realise until well into our meals and as the restaurant began to fill. There shouldn't have been a table so close. Not particularly pleasant. Avoid table 19. Wouldn't return.
Great service. Great food. Lovely evening . Excellent value for money
We were welcomed at the door, shown to our seats straight away and were looked after very well.
As always, great service and very good value for money food. Great set menu for lunch and very accomodating for kids.
I always enjoy breakfast here. The food is freshly cooked and delicious, while the service is always cheerful and helpful.
Didn’t enjoy this time as before. Extremely noisy and service very slow. Food very salty
My wife and I love Cote, Covent Garden and last night was no exception. If you visiting the local area eating here is a must. Staff were friendly, attentive, prompt and very professional. The food was excellent- my wife had the guinea hen and I had beef bourguignon for mains. As a starter the crab mayonnaise was superb as was the tarts au citron to finish things off! With an overall buzz in the restaurant we were really set up well for our visit to the theatre following our meal!
Rather crowded & in corner beside a large group. Understood that a birthday drink - Lie- would be given but waiter said only if you order main from al,a carte. Nothing was very clear. Disappointed !!!
Service was slow. Our steak frites was terrible. The steak was chewy and barely edible. We’ve eaten this at other cotes before, so we know what to expect. This wasn’t it. Very disappointing. Plus the restaurant was cold!
The person who got us seated was arrogant. Buy the person serving us on the table was good.
apart from being squeezed into a tiny gap with a table for 2, tables either side for 2 also occupied, when there were vast numbers of empty tables for 4 (why do that?), it was a perfect late lunch with attentive service and tasty food, tarte aux pommes pud particuarly delicious
I have never been to the Covent Garden branch before, I usually go to the Islington one which is a nice one. First when we arrived it took quite a while to be able to order a drink. When we finally did, they brought us our drinks but forgot the drink of one our friend, we had to remind them, after 20mn she finally got her drink. We then ordered the mains, it arrived and it was a big disappointment, we ordered mussels, not only there was not much in the plate but on top on that we had a few empty shells and not that much fires either. Finally they came to pick up the plates (after quite a long wait) and it took another 20mn just to get the dessert menu (that we did ask for). We managed to order dessert, 2 chocolate fondants. That time it took 5mn to arrive and huge disappointment again as it was clearly not homemade judging by the look, texture and the smoke coming out of it. last but not least, 45mn to be able to pay. I could have maybe expect this if the restaurant was full but we were far from it. Will not return.
Good food with friendly courteous service - always reliable and never disappointed.
It was the usual tasty food, and helpful service, which makes this restaurant a great favourite of mine.
Lovely meal and the staff were brilliant, great pre opera experience
great place to eat Will eat there again and recommend to others
Good menu with fixed price menus and monthly specials. Food is well cooked and presented. Easy place to meet for lunch or pre-theatre dinner. It can be cosy depending on where you sit. Service is slightly erratic if busy, and it can get noisy.
Really good food. Lovely evening and set the mood lovely ready for an evening at the theatre
The usual good Cote quality though allotting a table - given that we'd pre-booked - seemed to take a while.
Great food miserable staff in fact the only time there was a smile at the table was when we were paying our bill. After paying we requested another bottle of wine but was refused due to apparently someone else needed our table. We left but nobody was seated there.
Great service, good food and free bottle of wine, amazing
The Covent Garden restaurant has always been a favourite with our family and this recent visit with friends was no exception. High standards as normal
Good service, tasty well cooked food. There’s always something interesting on the menu and my pan fried cod with creamy vegetables did not disappoint
A group of nine of us had a late breakfast before going to a matinee at the Royal Opera House. The relaxed atmosphere, the efficient service and the delicious food were much appreciated by all.
Very pleasant meal with good service and varied choice of menu.
We go to Côte several times a month. This was our first visit to this one. My daughter had a special request of a plain poulett chicken and the lovely waitress gave here a massive portion of carrots instead of the mushrooms and sauce. We were very grateful. Fantastic service as always.
Good food, service and a lively atmosphere. Staff were very friendly and accommodating.
Lovely food , as always, lovely setting and excellent service
Very good service during busy Saturday lunch time, made for a very enjoyable visit
Great value and quality as always. Lovely waiter and manager. A menu dysfunction in that the Blood Orange wasn't Blood Orange but immediate courteous apology and compensation. Very good for customer relations and return custom. Thank you.
Great food 3 courses for £20 in London amazing. Service was really good and very attentive. Will definitely be going back
Very pleasant place to meet friends for a good-value lunch.
The service was exceptional. I didn't make a fuss at the time about my steak, as we were in a hurry. But I was disappointed with it, as it was quite fatty/gristly! I don't think I would order steak frites again.
This restaurant was clean, great atmosphere. Great attentive service, polite and friendly. Lovely food. The waiter Patrick was lovely.
Very helpful accommodating 2 extra people even though they were very busy. Excellent service. and lovely hot food.
Our time in Covent Garden was great, food was good, service was good and also the atmosphere
We did have a great time, service was good and also the food was very good!!
As always, excellent food from an innovative menu, friendly and prompt service ideal for theatre goers, pleasant and vibrant atmosphere and wonderful value for money. Why go anywhere else?
Friendly staff, good service and we didn’t feel rushed. Excellent food. Would certainly eat here again.
Food was good , Front of house staff very helpful in finding us a table away from the entrance and busy through-fare but either way restuarant is very busy and noisy with little space between tables. Our waiter was not very friendly and was most put out when I asked to taste the wine before ordering a bottle
One of the unfriendliest welcomes I've had in a restaurant in a ong time.. it was really poor ..like we were an inconvenience. Even though we'd booked we waited 7 mins to be seated. It was so unceremonious. Food was ok..different waitress served us and she was v pleasant. Ive never been to a cote and felt unwelcome like this. What happened? You'll not do well if you carry on like this. Im so disappointed.
Staff excellent. Very busy so extremely noisy. food was unbelievably good value for money. Will definitely go again.
Lovely pre-theatre menu, service and food excellent. Top quality, as always
Excellent vegetarian options beautifully cooked and served very efficiently. As usual Cote does not disappoint
Charming staff, delicious meal and wonderful location. Thank you Cote for a very enjoyable lunch.
Cote Tavistock Street always provides a really good breakfast experience. The food is delicious and hot, the service excellent, and the ambience is very pleasant.
