Great for a quick dinner before heading to the theatre. However, the tables are packed so tightly together it is a very loud experience. We also received poor service; gave us the wrong food and bill etc.
The food is very good. There are always a choice of 3 menus two of which one designed especially for pre-theatre goers which change every month. The waitresses and waiters are all very friendly and efficient. It is better to get there early as it becomes busy after 5pm. However, if you are pressed for time (e.g. going to a show or the opera house), it helps to tell the staff beforehand, so that they can prioritise your meal.
Restaurant very busy and as a consequence pretty noisy making conversation across table difficult; some acoustic damping would be a good idea. Service good and speedy. Tables very close together.
As always, the excellent Cote chain is reliable and good value. The only niggles today were lack of dressing on the Autumn salad, and an unsmiling waitress. Usually the staff are charming. Overall, though, a good place for lunch with friends.
The restaurant had a good ambience, the staff were friendly and the food was good. Cote restaurants are usually good and I would definitely return to this one.
Great and quick service for pre theatre dinner. It was very busy and a little chaotic, but the food was delicious and timely. We will be back!
Excellent friendly and prompt service , makes a pre-Theatre supper stress free if time is limited . Food reliable and good value . Nice atmosphere . All round a good experience for central London
Reasonably priced pre-theatre menu, with tasty food. Ratatouille & mushroom soup starters and chocolate mousse and chocolate pot desserts were especially good. But why oh why do they serve the hacks parmentier with peas (French 'cottage pie') in two dishes on a wooden platter, which makes it, at best, awkward to eat? Friendly, efficient staff.
We had the pre-theatre menu - good service and good food. Friendly staff. Not rushed but plenty of time to get to the theatre. Would recommend.
Very helpful and friendly staff.Menu was varied and interesting with dishes to suit most palettes.Service was prompt and attentive.Overall a pleasant dining experience.Would definetly go back.
Slight delay to be greeted on arrival, but everything went smoothly from then on. The menu was nicely varied and the food we ordered had flavour.
Proactive staff and excellent service at a very busy time. Innovative menu with plenty of choice, highly enjoyable and recommended for pre-theatre or a relaxing evening.
Cote was really buzzy but provided good service and excellent food! Our usual choice of restaurant when going to the theatre in the West End, as you are pretty much guaranteed to be well fed and watered in a set time frame without feeling rushed.
Staff were very helpful and friendly. We arrived late but they quickly found us a free table.Tried the pre-theatre menu. The food was delicious and very good value for money. I would recommend it.
Efficient service, good value and food for pre theatre meal. Lively atmosphere, tables quite close. It is not Cote's most comfortable venue but very good. St Martins Lane is a better layout as a restaurant with a bit less bustle around the table.
Although lovely food and staff, when we arrived we showed our theatre tickets for a free Kir Royal, when the bill came we had been charged & had to ask for a correct bill, surely as it is next to theatre they are used to this offer? But other than that great!
Excellent pre-theatre dining, cosy and efficient.Something to suit everyone on the menu and pre-theatre menu. Will definitely go back whenever we are in London again
I really like Côte on a good day but the experience is very hit and miss. For me this usually depends on the service and the quality of the steak. On this occasion the service was good but I had to send my steak back as it was too stringy. The following steak was fine and Côte had no quibble about changing it but it would be great if all the steaks were good! The deal before 7pm still represents great value however.
Lovely food and very friendly staff. Efficient and quick service in pleasant surroundings. Very good value pre theatre menus with good sized portions . First time we have visited this restaurant, will certainly be back
We had a great welcome, with a fast but not rushed professional service. A large varied menu, the food was delicious. All in all a busy , fun, atmosphere.
Staff were brilliant. I had warned them I was gluten free so didn't have to ask for special menu. In other restaurants they still manage to forget.
We booked for a triple birthday celebration. The food and service were excellent. Our waitress looked after us well and we all had a very happy evening.
It was ok though service was variable. Very noisy, too. Fishcake consisted mainly of potato which had been mashed so much it had become gluey. I couldn't taste any fish in it at all.
Very efficient and lovely evening, delicious food and very good service. I would definitely recommend Cote Brasserie on Travistock Street. I will be returning soon.
Excellent food, good service, despite being full to the rafters with diners, pleasant and polite staff working hard and doing a good job. .What more could you ask for?
The food as always was excellent and the service good. The only hiccup was that although I was having a free bottle of wine offer the bill had to be amended I was originally charged for it.
As usual we were happy with our meal at Cote.Quality food with excellent service.Tavistock Rd and St Martins Lane are well situated for theatre visits and Battersea Rise for an evening out.
Not a single time I have been disappointed...had yet again a great time with amazing very attentive service, very tasty food and a lovely ambience. I requested a table for two as I had a romantic dinner planned with my new partner and my wish was granted and they made it even more special with a complementary drink...this will be definitely 1 of my favourites...see you very soon! Booked for dinner after a matinee performance of Mamma Mia. Restaurant is perfectly positioned across the road from the Novello Theatre. We had the set menu which was excellent value, the food was super tasty and the restaurant had a fab ambiance. The complimentary Kir Royales were the icing on the cake! Would definitely return and would not hesitate in recommending.
Food was very tasty and the portions are of a good size. Service is quick and staff are friendly and polite! Will definitely come again!
Excellent service, freinly helpfull staff - great food -the table was ready at the time booked and my party and I had a fantastic time
Busy central London restaurant with friendly efficient service. Varied menu to suit all tastes at sensible prices. The food was excellent - my choice of fish stew and apple crumble was a winner!
The services was excellent, the meal was delicious and we told the waiter that we (6 people) were going to the theatre & the staff made sure we left the restaurant at the required time. We did not have to wait for the bill, it was given instantly. All good!
We were disappointed to be put on a table for 4 when there were 5 of us. The table next to us, who were also 5 on a table for 4 were struggling too, which was not helped as we were banging elbows with them.
As usual with Cote, the food was good, apart from the grilled chicken being a little dry. One dessert order was delivered with the wrong item (not sure how that mistake was made as they don't even sound similar) and then was wrongly added to the bill, but was corrected immediately and courteously when I pointed it out. A bit noisy. However overall a good experience.
Table was ready on tieThe staff were welcoming and efficient staff. Food was good. All in all a very enjoyable experience. Will be happy to visit again.
Very tasty food. Very good service despite being extremely busy. Price was ok considering location and very convenient for the theatre. Have also been to Cote in Windsor and would definitely go again
Excellent food, excellent service. From start to finish we felt, welcomed and had a great meal with friendly and efficient service and look forward to returning
It was not very busy so I was seated quickly, service was great and my steak was great. Sometimes in this location it is quite busy.
Visited this venue with friends. We all agreed the food and service were very good. The atmosphere was cosy, overall we thought it good value and would definately return.
Four of us had a delicious pre-theatre meal here from 4.45 pm - good value and reasonably fast service, especially when we explained that we had an opera to go to at 6.30 pm at which they sped up the service. I always like Côte's creme caramel and this did not disappoint.
Food was very good as usual & the service. We also enjoyed a free bottle of wine as part of Cote's loyalty scheme. Altogether a pleasant lunch experience & would highly recommend. Thanks
Despite being early for out appointment, the manageress welcomed us. The staff were very friendly. The food and drinks were lovely and very reasonably priced. Looking forward to my next visit. A*
Excellent food and atmosphere. Great service as always. Brought friends with us on this occasion that had never dined at Cotes and they were very impressed and love it too.
Could not fault the service we had. My mother asked to move tables as she has very sensitive hearing and they could not have been more accommodating. Food was delicious as well.
Very busy Saturday night, fairly noisy in the restaurant so no quiet conversations, food was ok, reasonable quality though nothing very special but the (Italian?) waiter seemed totally disinterested.
Very friendly staff out to make sure we had a relaxed meal. Food was good and service was good. Would go again and would recommend.
We went for Sunday brunch with friends. The service wasn't welcoming but fairly indifferent, despite the place not being busy. The brunch was ok but nothing special. The location is good if you want to explore Covent Garden.
As on other occasions really enjoyed the food. Excellent service. Good value for money. Many thanks. It is also a very convenient location. Would be happy to book again.
The service was superb, friendly chatty. Knowledgeable with the menu and helpful. The food as always great no complaints. The only that I will mention are the toilets very compact. Lovely place to eat before a show or for anything because all the staff and it's location. Well recommend but book a table if you can
