The meal was OK, but mussels as starter were overcooked and stringy. An order was forgotten. Generally speaking the meal was OK, but nothing special.

We had a very pleasant meal, as usual in this restaurant which offers good french cuisine at a very fair price-quality relation, I will go back.

Excellent restaurant. We were seated by a lovely polite waiter and then given the menus available. Nothing was hurried and all the staff were very polite, friendly and efficient. The quality of the food was superb. The tastiest Lamb Parmentier I have ever had. The value for money of the meal was outstanding. We will definitely be back. Thank you to all who made our meal so enjoyable.

An extremely busy restaurant in theatreland but the service was quick and professional. As regular customers at our Norwich branch we found the food just as good and of high standard.

Very nice and tasty meal served promptly and courteously. Excellent v.f.m. My only criticism is that the space in and around our table was very cramped.

Eaten here before and enjoyed it - but not on a busy December evening. Our table-for-2 was in fact a table for 4 split into 2 with only a 2 inch gap, so we had to share the next table’s conversation, except that the whole place was so noisy it was difficult to converse anyway. It was packed in so tightly that waiters could barely get through. Despite a flourish we were served the wrong steaks - which were, however, quite good.

Great ambience, the restaurant was really buzzing! Food was nice and staff very kind and attentive, even though the rest was so busy. Would recommend to others.

We went to the Tavistock Street branch of Cote, for a meal before the ballet at the Royal Opera House. VERY busy, and although the service was good, we had to rush the dessert course in order to be on time for the ballet. Had the garlic prawns, followed by halibut - which was excellent, and then crème caramel - the house speciality. Good value, good food.

Excellent service and quality food at a very reasonable price. Food came very promptly when ordered but the staff did not rush us at all. Varied choice on Christmas menu - will be back to taste some more!

Great lunch on Saturday, staff were fabulous, food was amazing, we had 3 courses for 15.99 it is such a bargain to be had for a pre theatre lunch, will definitely be going back, have tried 5 Cotes now, and the standard In each one has been fantastic.

Convenient veue, doctor relaxing.Staff very friendly and efficient. Starters need some improvement. The mushroom brioche needs more mushrooms in the sauce and care with presentation. The liquor used to cook the Normandy modules was too salty.Otherwise food was good - chicken forester, minute steak and sea bass.

A very good choice on the Christmas Lunch/ early evening menu at a reasonable price. Each course was delicious. Busy but not too crowded where we sat near the door.

Very good staff, most helpful. Food not the greatest but very very good, recommended. Rather noisy, but that's because it was full, which says it all.

The restaurant was pretty full between 5.30 and 6.00 with pre-theatre diners but the service was still reasonable and food from the pre-theatre dinner menu was to a good standard. We finished our meal in plenty of time to get to the Theatre Royal (only 50 yards away) for a drink before the performance.

We were squeezed onto a table that would comfortably fit 4, we were a table of 6, even though i had booked at least 3 weeks in advance. On arrival i was told i only had the table for 1 and a half hours, something i had not been made aware of in advance, if i had i would have booked else where. The restaurant was so busy waiters were squeezing past us frequently. The food was good. My brother ordered a glass of house wine and instead of being told there was no house wine they asked if he wanted dry or sweet without being told of any price differences. When the bill came he noticed he had been charged for one of the expensive glasses not a house (which is usually the cheapest!) When mentioned to the waiter he became quite defensive and my brother had to argue his point before they reduced the price of the wine begrudgingly. What was meant to be a lovely birthday meal turned out to be quite a stressful occasion. I love cote restaurants but shall not be returning to this one.

Attended for the Pre-Theatre set menu deal for £14.95. Usually when attending theatre always looking for somewhere to eat and then disappointed. Cote was recommended and therefore booked a table. On arrival very busy however our table which was by the window was ready. The place was lit by candles which made it even more charming. The food, service and value was excellent. I can’t rate the experience highly enough. Definitely recommend and will go back next time in London for a show.

Enjoyed the meal but there seemed to be an issue with the staff. Staff helpful and polite but seemed harassed and overstretched. Also very surprised to find a member of waiting staff cleaning a blocked toilet.

We went to the restaurant as a party of 6 and although the food was up to the usual Cote standard and allowing for the fact it was a Saturday night the level of service was chaotic and awful.

The restaurant was so busy. We had to wait 15 mins by door for our table. Food came really quickly but forgot my side salad and meal not as well cooked as the one I had in Harpenden two weeks prior. Need to reduce covers and concentrate on quality of food

I love The Cote Brasserie. Food is great and nice service in a lovely room. Just the right noise level for conversation with being over heard. However would not order the French onion soup again as it is impossible to eat due to the stringy nature of the cheese!

We often go to our local Cote in Guildford which is excellent, this however was not up to their standard. There was no ambience, it was draughty , uncomfortable, and I won't be going there again.

Always good value, though I sometimes think the Prix Fixe menu doesn't change often enough! Noise levels in some branches are too high - I seldom go to your Richmond branch for this reason unless it is at a very quiet time. Staff are unfailingly courteous and very efficient.

Food was good as usual, but the service was not. Our server either left or got moved to a different section, so we were a bit abandoned. Had to wait 10-15 minutes for them just to bring mustard to the table.

Table had been booked and was waiting. Confusion over the order - perhaps a lack of clarity in my speech but it needed to be clarified and taken again. One starter came 8 minutes before the other, though both waitress and deliverer apologised. Food otherwise excellent and filling on a cold night. Ambience, atmosphere and meals made up for the other aspects, hence 4. Will probably come again.

Service and food excellent for a pre-theatre dinner. The restaurant, being near the window which we chose, could have been warmer as was particularly cold night...makes all the difference.

We were greeted as soon as we entered and it was very busy. We had to wait a short while for our table and were given a glass of wine as an apology, which was lovely. As always the service was excellent, friendly and efficient. The food too did not disappoint. It was delicious. A very enjoyable evening.

Consistently good pre-theatre menu and service. On this occasion, the busy-ness slightly got the better of service. The first of our party of 5 to arrive ordered a glass of wine, which still hadn't arrived 25 minutes later. However, when requested, they quickly changed the order to a bottle of prosecco (as the rest of us had arrived). That said, everything else was efficient and charming, as ever.

Booked table for 6pm but were not seated until 6.20pm. Having said that, the service was very quick indeed, the food was nice and we were still able to enjoy two courses and get out to the theatre by 7pm. Restaurant gave us a discount by way of an apology.

Lovely food and great buzzy atmosphere. Staff very stressed and too many tables over booked, hence we got seated but then asked to move to a smaller table. We had complimentary drinks by way of an apology and it didn't really spoil the evening but there was a sense of exyteene business & pressure as we observed staff around us. Lovely people though and nice food with good value offered. Would probably try again ... but not in the Christmas rush !!!
