Food was excellent. Although it was busy we didn't feel rushed at all. Staff were very friendly and I would definitely go again. So pleased we booked it.
Great location, superb food, attentive staff, would recommend this restaurant to family and friends if visiting the area, only negative was bathroom downstairs and one of our party had difficulty in getting to them, apart from that a great pre - theatre meal was enjoted by all.
As always our dining experience at Cotes Brasserie st Martins Lane was excellent. We go there every time we are in London. . I am registered with Cotes on line but never seem to get any rewards!!
Wonderful food, very good service, as usual the Picpoul wine was chilled to perfection. Mackerel rillettes were very tasty. Followed by cod goujons. Then chocolate melt in the middle pudding. Delicious and excellent value for money.
There is a great value set menu. Good, friendly service and good location for any pre/post theatre trip. We were served by a variety of waiting staff who were all chatty and friendly.
Quick, efficient, tasty and very good option if you're attending the theatre in the evening. The fact that it gets so booked up is testament to it's excellent value.
Good service, food came promptly, the steak was a bit dry (consider giving us more sauce?), but the pre-theatre dinner was good value. Would come back!
Lovely table for seven at the back of the restaurant. Service was first class the and pre theatre deal was excellent value, as was the wine. Minor quibble was that although the plates were hot, some of the food was only like warm. Overall my party enjoyed Cote and we will certainly go again
Very busy and long gap between two identical starters with only passing apology when the second starter arrived a full 10 minutes after the first
The restaurant was buzzing and busy but we had booked. So we were surprised to be offered a table in totally unatmospheric basement, on our own near the loos. No other parties joined us down there throughout our meal-just folk visiting the loos and peering in on us! Our First and second choices of wine were unavailable and the service was haphazard, spoiling our celebration. Food was good but we will not be returning to this branch.
Great food. Restaurant was very busy - practically every table occupied - so service was a little slow due to an apparent shortage of staff. Usually I would give 5 stars to St Martin's Lane as we regularly dine there and never have a bad meal. The pre-theatre menu is very reasonably priced and offers plenty of choice of top quality starters and mains.
Despite slightly distracted service (and ferocious air conditioning on cold evening) food is always good at Cote, and we had convivial evening. We would go again.
The service was very slow but the staff tried to make up for it. The food was good and a reasonable price. There was a nice atmosphere.
A well positioned restaurant within easy distance of theatres near Trafalgar Square. Good and quick service, and a sensible fixed price menu. Tasty food and friendly staff. Definitely worth considering.
The food was lovely but the Service was dreadful! We booked a table for 7pm but did not get our main course until after 8pm!! We asked a couple of staff why it was taking so long and thru went off to find out. The good eventually came but no apology as to why it took so long. We were celebrating my Dad's Birthday so put a dampener on the evening
I go to Cote St Martin's Lane a lot and always receive good service and have good food and wine at a very reasonable price.
Very good service, reliable quality and value. Staff very pleasant, efficient and attentive. The menu has a good range of choice despite being fairly limited but this ensures fresh quality. Monthly specials are also available which extends the choice nicely.
This restaurant is ideal for pre and post theatre. The set menu is very good value for money, when dining before seven o' clock. An un-hurried experience.
Seated downstairs in basement , very Noisy therefore difficult to have a conversation also very stuffy as air conditioning not on/working. However staff very friendly.
The restaurant was very busy but were not rushed or pressed to order. Staff were all helpful and the food is reasonably price with a good range of side dishes. There is a range of vegetarian options.
We had an excellent meal with friendly and efficient service at very reasonsble prices. The menu offers a wide choice including lighter dishes, meaning it's great for a pre-theatre meal and the pre-theatre set menu is truly a bargain. Will definitely come back.
Very tasty food, good service and excellent value. My main of chicken and couscous was delicious. Do book though as they tend to get very busy.
Good food and service good value for money. Charming people working there. BUT it was so noisy we could hardly hear ourselves sspeek across the table. Can you sound proof the roof?
Very nice staff, pleasant and not intrusive. Good table - not crammed in. My choice of starter (scallops from the specials menu) was not available, so I changed to the calamari. It was over-fried, the batter dry and not very hot. It left a lingering greasy taste. My main course, the risotto vert, had plenty of vegetable in, but was too creamy for my taste and almost stodgy. I could only eat half of it. I am a regular at a number of Cote restaurants and this is below the usual very good standard. I left disappointed.
Excellent helpful service and delicious food. Perfect pre-theatre meal. We will definitely return to this restaurant when we next visit London and the West End.
Excellent! The food was very tasty, and the staff most helpful. I would definitely recommend this restaurant for a good pre theatre meal. I had the grilled Sole which was great.
Having visited numerous Cote establishments this was one of the best due to the attentive and pleasant staff. The food and drink were excellent. As a compliment to the staff the cleanliness was the best we experienced during our stay in London. We look forward to future visits to Cote.
Go0d. but service a bit slow.. maybe because it was very busy with pre theatre crowd . Food up to the usual standard. Will go again .
Perfect location Great atmosphere and really good menu and choice of wines. Very friendly staff and excellent service as always. We will be back again very soon.
Good food, reasonably priced. Menu choices are interesting without being overly fancy or pretentious. Waiting staff were attentive and personable but not overbearing or intrusive.
Great food, good value, but - high 12.5% gratuity automatically added to the bill. Rushed service towards the end of the booking, but good and welcoming when the restaurant was less busy.
Truly quality food at reasonable prices for the West End, lovely scallops and steak tartare starters and sea bass and haddock for mains, plus a apple tart with 2 spoons to finish. Very friendly and efficient service. Thank you
Good food, excellent service. I am a regular customer at Cote and always have a pleasant time. Very good reliable, value for money restaurant. Recommend.
Reliable Cote menu; efficient and friendly staff despite the very very busy pre-theatre crowd. Had been given downstairs table but this was changed at our request
great mushroom crepe but creme brulee although tasting delicious had a cold burnt top. They took it away and brought me a different one and the brulee was hot but so was the underneath which just tasted of warm custard.
As alway, the staff are polite, friendly and super efficient! Food was delicious, steak cooked to our liking and the desert ...creme broulee was seriously yummy! Thank you for keeping our table when we were runnng late.
Excellent restaurant, food great. Very friendly and welcoming staff. Lovely atmosphere when you visit after a show and no hurry for you to finish your meal.
Staff and restaurant were up to the regular high standard I have come to expect from Cote. We were there for nigh on three hours and everyone was kind and attentive. Food delious, especially the asparagus with the tarragon vinaigrette..be sure to book as there is aleways a rush on at the lunchtime period, but better after about 2.30.
It was perfect as usual, super meal, wine and fresh bread and butter but I am very surprised that mussels are taken out from menu
Food excellent. We came at pre theatre time and had some delays for which our waitress apologised. Hectic but the staff worked very hard to get everyone through. Will return but plan better.
Food Very average ....service very fast seemed they wanted us in and out very quickly they need toilets upstairs as only ones were downt a long flight of narrow steps ..wouldn't go back
Good food; friendly staff. The service was mostly good, but a small criticism in that it could have been a little more attentive. Will definitely visit again.
Visited st martins lane brasserie. Interesting menu, nicely presented by courteous staff, food excellent and not over priced. Not first time we had been to cote and would definitely visit cote again. -peter Jeffery, London.
Always a good bet pre-theatre. They know you have limited time and service it well. Quality of food always of a high standard compared to similar mid range chains.
It was an excellent choice for a pre theatre dinner. The food was extremely good and the staff were very polite and helpful. Would highly recommend it.
A Good choice of food and well presented. Service was excellent, quick and efficient. A good place to eat before an evening at the theatre.
An evening at the Coliseum, so an excuse to dine in our favourite restaurant. My wife says do we only go to the the theatre to eat at Cote St Martins Lane. Yes it is the best.
The food was delicious as always at Cote, fresh ingredients, freshly cooked. We were there at a very busy, pre-theatre time, so the service was a little slower than usual. It was 15 minutes before our order was taken and water arrived after the first course, which is very unusual.
Food was good chose from the a la carte menu ,husband ordered rib eye steak when it came it looked more like steak haiche which I commented on to him but have had rib eye before which can be differing shapes. When the bill came I checked it and saw we'd been charged for fillet steak told the guy who's bought the bill ,he asked who'd served us ,I pointed him out to him but he didn't do anything so was a bit annoyed especially as there was £9+ service charge on the bill, with hindsight should have said I wasn't paying it,as rib eye doesn't sound like fillet
We were given a choice of table and chose a quiet-ish area. The specials menu included really good sea bass (or was it bream?) Starter of beetroot salad refreshing and well presented. My friend had duck and liked that. Service was mostly good though erratic at times, but always pleasant and friendly and not intrusive. Wine good as usual. A very enjoyable and satisfying experience.
