Relaxed atmosphere although it was busy. Good food, although a waitress spat when she spoke! Pre-theatre menu had loads of choices which was great. Will definitely be back.

We had a lovely leisurely lunch in Cote St Martin's Lane. My friend used the set menu and I used the a la carte. We both thought the food was great and the staff were all pleasant and helpful. It's essential to book in advance as it's always busy at this Cote because it's in Theatre land! We've been before and will go back again.

The host greeted us in a very friendly manner. The waiter was helpful and professional. The pretheatre 3 course meal was very good. We would go back next time we're in London. If you like chocolate, get the mousse!

Having enjoyed Cote meals locally I booked here for a pre theatre meal for my companion and me. I had already downloaded the menu and we discussed it. We had assumed the pre-theatre menu would be unattractive and chose accordingly! How wrong could we have been? The welcome was warm and friendly and despite the restaurant buzzing with around 160 guests we were treated as if we were the only ones. The fixed price menu shook us by the variety of choice and great dishes, but we stuck to our original choices! My veal escalope was very large but beautifully cooked thin, tender and delicious whilst the tuna steak was perfection. Looking at the dishes at neighbouring tables the fixed price menu offerings looked equally appealing.

Very good & charming service. Best waitress in a long time. ( from Italy). Three course good - but crepe was very dry. Fish very fresh and cooked perfectly (easy to over cook fish so this was a delight). Good choice of wine - good quality. Not always the case in restaurants.

Quite slow service, warm white wine. Sweary staff. Food was brought and then taken away again with no explanation. Half am hour wait between starter and main. Food was nice though

It is always a great place to go for a meal. The set menu and the specials change monthly so you never get bored with the same food. Having said that the regular dishes are worth eating again

Excellent food at a good price delivered with a speedy & friendly service just what you need when you have a theatre booked. Best to book in advance as many people were unsuccessful in securing a table as they hadn't booked in advance

I always enjoy Cote but the food on the July menu didn't excite me as much as usual. Sitting directly under the air conditioning was really cold and although we moved it was just the same in our new seats

Considering I had reserved a table 1 week in advance I felt we could have been given a table on the ground floor which is much lighter and generally more pleasant than the basement room we were put in. The pre theatre menu was excellent and the service vert pleasant.

Booking system worked well as loads of casuals being turned away as FULL. Not surprising & very convenient for Colisium/theatre. Cote maintains a consistent standard wherever situated. Totally reliable. D A C May 17

Great choices on the a la carter menu. Although I think the waiter might have been fairly new as we got offered desserts and main courses that we hadn't ordered, and got given the wrong bill - ours was cheaper !

Very enjoyable meal, I reckon the Cote rib-eye steak is consistently the best in London. Very good service, no delays. One minor gripe was the the level of background noise, but then again the venue was full. We will definitely keep going to Cote (various London branches).

Having had good experiences at Cote in Woking and Guildford, I didn't actually stay to eat anything in Covent Garden. The main restaurant looked ok albeit the tables are really close together, but the available table I was shown to was in the basement. This was a stuffy, crammed full with tables and totally characterless space which is to be avoided - people must have been really hungry to pay good money to eat in such an unpleasant space. Cote should do better, but I guess given the area of London there is a regular client base.

The service was great but unfortunately we both ordered chicken. My husbands salad and my grilled 1/2 chicken We're both so dry as to be almost inedible. Very sad since even with the extreme noise factor we do love the menu MInus the chicken...and the restaurant.

Very good food, very pleasant staff, but erratic service delivery, caused by the restaurant staff not using note pads for orders, just remembering or misremembering! Our side of fries did not come with our main course and by the time they arrived our main course was eaten, to avoid it going cold, apologetic waiter removed fries from the bill. Also my companion was brought the wrong dessert so again a wait whilst the correct 1 was sourced, so a bit like French faulty towers but still nice food, just use notepads!! Also glasses of rose wine were warm, but despite all this would try again if going to theatre in that area.

From the selections of the menu, quality of food, wine & service was second to none. The food is always piping hot, excellent portions , fresh and tasty. It's always busy because it so popular but standards are never compromised. Highly recommend, but deffinalely book a table before hand as we've learnt to .

We have visited this restaurant on a number of occasions. On this particular visit we arrived at 6.15pm and the restaurant was very busy; this made it a little too noisy to hear people on the opposite side of the table speaking. However, it quietened down about 7.00pm, Service was good, as was the food.

The food was fine as usual however the service was below par as they got our order wrong: having offered Badoit they brought Perrier and the wrong salad came with the main course and the right one only arrived as we were finishing our food. Nothing catastrophic just the staff seemed too rushed to concentrate properly. Didn't ruin our lunch as we had a good time but could have mattered if I was trying to impress my guest!

WE went for a pre-theatre dinner so that is very different from a more leisurely dinner. Cote has a set menu with about half a dozen choices for each course. It was £12.50 for two and £13.95 for three courses. I had a very nice starter of smooth duck pate on toasted sourbread and my wife had a sort of pancake with melted camembert (both of which were very nice) which we both followed with the typically French steak frites. It was a minute steak cooked med-rare, which it really was. The steak was fine but the portion of frites was for me a bit mean. It came in one of those now apparently compulsory tiny buckets which I must say I find rather annoying as they sit awkwardly on the plate and reduce portion size. The frites I had however were hot and crispy. I think some sort of vegetable or salad in addition would be appropriate but there was none. We drank a couple of glasses of their Cote du Rhone, very pleasant. For pud my wife had crème caramel which she enjoyed and I had ice cream. My wife liked the crème caramel. I felt the ice cream was a bit ordinary. It wouldn't cost that much more to have a luxury ice cream of which there are plenty these days. The staff were pleasant though very busy. There was one exciting and amusing incident when one waitress was bumped into by another waiter and the glass of wine she was carrying was spilt. She was so annoyed that she through the empty glass on the floor smashing it. All was cleared up quickly! So all in all it did what it said on the tine. We fed perfectly well and in good time for our show and at a very reasonable cost for central London. As an adjunct to a theatre trip I would certainly go there again but would need to try the main menu to see if it was what I wanted for an evening out in its own right..

We have been here many times because the food is tasty and reasonably priced. We have never had a poor experience until today. We had to wait ages for our food and it only arrived after we had been forced to chase it up and it transpired that the order had not actually been placed. We were given complementary bread and olives at this point. My husband's starter and our steaks were absolutely fine but my starter, the pisaladiere, was disappointing: the sweet onion mix was quite thinly spread on the overbaked flatbread and there wasn't an anchovy in sight. I ordered a second glass of wine and again we had to chase this up. To be fair to the restaurant we did have our complementary bread and olives and we were not charged for the second glass of wine. They also waived the service charge. However, we would rather have paid the full price and had decent service.
