This is our choice restaurant for a pre theatre meal. Tonight was very so-so. Service was slow, in fairness they were packed out. We had to bolt our maincourse in 5 minutes flat to make curtain up. What really rankled was the charge for a full pretheatre meal when I only had the soup from that menu (plus a steak from the a La carte). That just not right. We pointed that out on leaving but had to literally run out to catch our play, feeling rather cheated.

Good food and great service. However, a great evening ruined by the very loud group at the table behind. We spoke to the manager & she said she would speak to them but never did.

The food was very good value and tasty. The service was excellent. The only criticism we have is that the ambience was too noisy and conversation was extremely difficult.

Food somewhat variable, eg cassoulet rather disappointing whilst onion soup excellent, coffee very late arriving. We dined downstairs and since the ceiling is rather low, it is noisy and not easy to hear each other. All this was made much better by great staff, particularly our young Italian waitress who was friendly, caring and cheerful.

We arrived at the restaurent a little early but that was not a problem so we were seated straight away. We chose the pre-theatre fixed price menu which had a reasonable choice of dishes. The food arrived quickly and was tasty and hot. The staff were attentive and polite. We enjoyed our experience there and would happily go again.

A very enjoyable pre theatre meal with my daughter. We both had the set menu whcich included a fish main course of Hake which was delicious and nicely cooked. I had a little bit of trouble trying to get attention to order a drink whilst waiting for my daughter who was delayed. Otherwise very friendly and helpful staff.

Door staff seemed over stretched or just in a flap. Complimentary Kir Royal sat on bar for ten minutes and was nearly flat by the time we got it - even after asking two different people and as it could be seen just sat there. Once main order taken all was as normal Cote good service. However plates were cold so food went cold too quick. Food was otherwise lovely. Waiter prompt and friendly when delivering ordered meal.

Côte continues to be a remarkable chain, consistently good food - always some standards and terrific seasonal additions - lovely staff and delightful, unstuffy surroundings. St Martin’s Lane restaurant is large but cleverly designed to feel intimate nonetheless. We were late as a performance had seriously overrun but were made just as welcome as if we’d been prompt.

The food was good as usual, and service was good during the meal. However I had to wait 5 minutes for the bill and then 5 minutes to pay, and that only when I approached the waitress who went to another table with the card machine. Then I was not able to pay because apparently someone else had paid my bill. In the end I had to leave without paying, as the show at the Colisseum was about to start - and I did miss the beginning if the show. I returned to Cote after the show and was able to pay my bill then. So all ok in the end, but this did take the shine off my whole evening.

Good french style restaurant with wide variety on the menu - we chose from the monthly specials and everything was tasty with adequate but not huge portions. We were warmly welcomed at the reception and lunch service was charming, prompt and efficient.

What a nice restaurant in a central location. Saturday afternoon, so was busy, but not hurried to finish meal and go. Under £20 a head, including wine, so very reasonable. Nice place to go for a pre or post theatre meal or at any time.

Good wine, prompt service, excellent food for the price. Very convenient for the nearby theatres. There was evidently a huge turnover of customers but we weren't rushed.

We had the set menu. The food was very poor, my daughter had the mackerel and beetroot salad the fish was fall of bones she was unable to eat it all, when I complained the waitress said fish does have bones in it !!but she would tell the chef, there was no response from chef. The pork I had for my main course was supposed to come with lentils there was a tiny amount which had been squashed on the plate by the pork. Will not be returning.

A very disappointing lunch visit, made more so as it was a much anticipated between two friends who rarely see each other. We arrived on time for a pre-theatre lunch. The restaurant was busy, the menu mouth-watering and the first five minutes of service charming. After that, it was downhill all the way, with long waits for drinks, for our order to be taken, for our starters, then a 30 minute wait for our main course which ruined the entire lunch. I seemed to spend the entire time trying to catch the eye of waiters, and being given empty promises about it being "just now". We had seven minutes to eat our main course before a dash for the theatre across the road to arrive three minutes before curtain up. And not only that, after I had a minor meltdown about the delay and asked for the bill immediately so we could make sure it was cleared before we left, even THAT took three times of asking and delayed us even further. It gives me indigestion just to think about it, and that's nothing compared to the indigestion we both suffered during the theatre performance. The maitre d made up for it slightly by promising to keep the remains of our bottle of wine for a return after the theatre, and we then received a further two glasses of wine on the house. But it was really very disappointing.

Enjoyed three courses from the lunch menu for £15, served very efficiently. Recommend the smoked mackerel starter and the apple crumble was a winner. Great location just off Covent Garden.

We generally love this branch of Cote. It has a great atmosphere and it's perfect for a pre theatre meal. The service was excellent and we had plenty of time for three courses before going to theatre. The staff is very attentive.

I regularly visit Cote Restaurants in many areas in London and always have a great time, I tell all my friends that 'Cote's' are the best value in London and I'm sure they are of the same high standard around the UK. You'd be wise to give them a go and discover for yourself how good they are - even have linen napkins - that's a big plus and gives you an idea of the high standard !!

Went to Cote , Covent Garden on a busy Friday evening when pre-theatre dining was still in full swing. We were seated at a good table and service was excellent, as usual. We've been to this restaurant many times before and standard is consistently good. On this occasion, it was the dessert special of crepes grand marnier that influenced our choice of venue and they didn't disappoint. Only slight niggle with food was that the french fries were over-cooked. We chose a cote du rhone from the good wine list and really enjoyed it. All in all, a good evening.

Service slower than normal and my minute steak was not up to scratch. Could have been warmer and was over cooked. I have had much better with you. NB I chose not to make a fuss as I was with my daughter for a little treat. PNL

We have used this restaurant on many iccasions as it is so comveniently placed for both the National Gallery and the National Portrait Gallery. It us more pleasant to sit in the loght near the front of the restaurant. The staff are helpful and efficient, and the foid is excellent value, particularly the set menu.

Our first to a Cote restaurant. A very professional operation. Our food was delicious. However, we may not return because of the noise levels. We were having lunch with an old friend we had not seen for a while but it was impossible to hear ourselves think.

We had the set pre-theatre menu - which was good value, though the mushroom parmentier was a bit disappointing (a bit like mushroom soup with a potato topping). Otherwise, the food was good and the service very friendly and attentive.
