Food was excellent. Service a little slower than expected, but the restaurant was full and very busy so it is understandable that service was slow, however it would have been better if we could have had a drink whilst we were waitin to order. In the end ordered drinks and food at the same time
Good location and usual Cote menu. Nice staff. Only complaint is that the tables are to close. I had a rather large gentleman sitting next to me and it was cramped. Impossible to have a private conversation. Tavistock Street restaurant seems better planned.
Good service, pleasant staff, food reasonable and not expensive for central London. Use this chain quite a lot and find same experience elsewhere. Would recommend.
Normally, we find Côte Brasserie - Covent Garden - St Martin's Lane very reliable, good value and generally an enjoyable experience. However, one of our group has strict dietary requirements and ordered the duck dish without the sauce or cherries. The dish arrives with cherries, and when this was noted and taken away it came back as the same duck pieces - just the plate had been changed. Cheap, and not good customer service. We won't be back in a hurry. Very disappointed
Food very good and pre theatre menu good value. Rest of the experience not so great. Waiter did his best but he needed more help. We were put down downstairs - not great 'basement atmosphere' - and on a mid aisle table - not great at all, very unrelaxing with other customers and staff pushing past us. We moved ourselves when a side table came free and had to do a bit of DIY service, getting our own salt and pepper etc as waiter too busy. I like Cote but at this one for pre theatre rush they need more staff and they should not try to cram in as many people in as possible.
The service is very good. the food was delicious. the only thing about these places is that people seem to have to talk at the top of their voices. The pricing is reasonable and there is a variable choice.
Our waitress was excellent charming and helpful, but I'm afraid the food (pre theatre dinner selection) was poor. We mentioned the leek starter was dry and tasteless and they took it off the bill without being asked. So top marks for service and location, but don't offer a cheap menu if standards have to fall so low.
We eat here three or four times a year and always have a lovely meal. On Saturday 6th January, things didn’t seem quite right in Côte. We were offered the wrong wine to start with, then one of us got a very late starter and the wrong main course. This entire meal was not charged for, which was good customer service. Unfortunately, the chicken breast in breadcrumbs, which several of us chose, was not up to Côte’s usual tasty standard - perfectly edible but a little overdone. The flatbread starter was good. We will be back as we’ve had many great meals here but we did feel something was a bit unusually stressed in the system that day. We very much appreciate the unhurried service and cheerful waiting staff as we’re a group of lifelong friends who meet several times a year for a chat and meal at Côte.
Excellent Menu Choice. Staff were friendly and timing of food service was very good. Good atmosphere at St Martin's Lane. Highly recommended place for family.
We booked for 6pm for a pre theatre meal. Cote is very experienced at dealing efficiently with a full restaurant and we had a super meal in the right amount of time to make the evening show. Would fully recommend Cote.
Food tasted fine but had obviously been left under the serving heaters for too long so the peas were shriveled and the toppings had gone hard.
Service was chaotic and constantly had to re ask for things. Took too long to get bill, not acceptable as going to the theatre along with many other diners all getting stressed too. Rib eye steak really bad, extremely stringy would never re-order. Extremely disappointed and would think twice about going back to Cote, and used to go a couple of times a year
Largely Spanish Staff in St Martins lane Cote are unhelpful & deceptive, hair was found in one of the main dishes we were served. We were deceived several times when calling for the restaurant manager, two Spanish females claimed to be managers!
I like this restaurant - nice atmosphere and friendly service. Only complaint was that my risotto was a bit stodgy for my liking and the service a bit slow.
Staff overwhelmed by numbers eating pre-theatre. Food was fine. Staff were pleasant. Restaurant is very crowded and one can hear other people’s conversations! But I still like it-price for pre-theatre meal is good. No accessible lavatory.
Lovely evening. Nice to recognised by waitress. Wine good. Food as always as expected. Staff friendly. Atmosphere good and not too noisy which is always good!
I chose the pre-theatre menu, not for the first time. I like their chocolate mousse but find them quality variable. I prefer it firm but sometimes find it too soft - not on this occasion. It was good and thick - well done!
Reasonable quality food, attentive but busy staff, good pricing. Cote is a good offer, and the St Martin's Lane restaurant is no doubt their busiest and must be one of their best run. What's not to like.....as long as you don't have the table next to the entrance.
Food soon cooled as plates were not hot when food was placed on them. Limited choice of deserts then we had to wait quite a long time to be served. However we were given a good will reduction.
Excellent meal two courses for £12:95. Good choice on the menu a variety of dishes. The staff were friendly and attentive. Highly recommended for pre theatre meal.
The food was generally good and was also good value for money however it was not pleasant to witness members of the management team arguing oenly in full view of the customers, it was also not pleasant to watch our waitress being ‘ bullied’ by a member of the same management team.
Unfortunately cote were so busy we were kept waiting for 20 minutes so our Pre theatre meal was rather a rush Food was excellent when it came
very fast and attentive service and pre-theatre meal was good value. Good idea to book as this is a popular venue for a quick pre-theatre meal.
The service was friendly & efficient, the food was excellent, all on a very busy Saturday evening before the theatres opened for the evening performances.
Good service , and a very good value meal. We have often dined atCote before, and have always been sympathetic all looked after. We shall keep on coming
Friendly service, good choice of menu and quality of food fine, only delay was in waiting for a coffee pre ordered to arrive with dessert as we were going onto a show but which I had to chase up when 5 minutes later it had not yet arrived but otherwise pre theatre meal enjoyed by all the family
The beginning of the evening was great we had ordered our food everything was going smooth. After our waiter changed and everything took longer. It seemed like they forgot about us, dirty places left for a long time on the table as well as the glasses. We also missed out on the pre starter, we haven't received that
Starter salad was tiny esp considering it was the cheapest starter on the set menu. Otherwise would have been top grade. Waitress was particularly lovely.
I booked 3 days ago for St Martins Lane for lunch at 1,15. Nowhere does the website ask if you are prepared to eat downstairs which was totally unacceptable to us as one of my party had leg issues. Eventually we were given a table upstairs
Pleasant atmosphere and very good value for money menu. Great for meeting friends and not being under pressure to vacate table when finished. Definitely visit again.
a lovely experience. Good service, good food and a wonderful location.
Good food and friendly service. Only criticism the salt cod croquettes were miniscule - too small even for a starter. Otherwise excellent and good value.
We were in a pre theatre visit The food was good and very reasonably priced The service was top notch, friendly and efficient such that even with limited time we still managed a dessert and had plenty of time to get to theatre I would recommend this restaurant most heartily to anyone
Great food and service at very reasonable prices. There was an issue with the coffee machine or working but the staff handled it well and we were happy.
Very helpful, table ready and staff attentive with my steak just right. My friends found their food very good we were in good time for the Theatre show start. I be coming back. Thank you for making our evening good xx
Buzzy atmosphere, friendly service, pleasant ambience, good food and good value for money. Proved to be ideal place for pre-theatre meal to celebrate a friend's birthday.
I enjoyed my dining experience at Cote, St Martin's Lane. The food and service was excellent. My only criticism and this is only slight was that because it was busy our table was slightly encroached by people queuing to be seated. This I realise is due to lack of space and layout when very busy. But overall it was a lovely meal and I would certainly recommend it as a place to visit.
As always, excellent, friendly and attentive service and excellent food as well. Never fails to impress. Cote may be a chain but it delivers far better quality and value than most of the big names. Keep up the great work.
Excellent service and attention. We always visit Cote Restaurants where ever we are when we want to eat out. Excellent gluten free menu. Well satisfied.
A buzzing full great place to eat within close proximity to West End theatres and needing less than 25 words to express it that is 24 words
Our table of six had a great meal and wine. We all chose the pre-theatre menu and were not disappointed. The steak and chips were really good. Puddings were great too.
Lovely meal, friendly staff. Eaten there three times and it's always been good. Even though it was a Saturday night we were not rushed out and our meal was relaxing.
It was New Years Eve and it was a busy time for everyone in the restaurant. We think everything went smoothly and we were satisfied when we left.
We had a wonderful meal and the service was great. It was an amazing start to New Years Eve. We look forward to coming back soon.
I have a very enjoyable meal which was pre theatre and was served by a very efficient waitress who was pleasant and polite and quick. Sue G .
Great pre-theatre venue. Good location, good food, nice staff. Despite being very busy the service was very good. Only criticism would be the size of my mussels- they were minuscule! Overall price was very reasonable and we loved the complimentary Kir Royals
New Years Eve Eve, early evening, pre-theatre, v.v.busy! I felt sorry for the staff who were rushed off their feet but did their best under difficult circumstances. I hope Cote management realise this and all staff amply rewarded. Also it's not a good idea to plonk customers under an air con vent blasting out cold air (upon request it was switched off). Food, nice enough, as usual.
This is a favourite haunt of ours for a pre-theatre meal just before New Year. The food is always reliably very good and service friendly and efficient. The restaurant is clearly geared up for theatre goers and we have never had any concern over getting to our venue in good time.
Cote up to seeing usual high standard with food cooked well and tasty. We were well looked after and the atmosphere was happy and busy.
The staff of Cote St Martin's Lane gave us an excellent pre show supper; the food was delicious and the welcome and service friendly and efficient. Always a great atmosphere too.
