Côte - St Martin's Lane

I have been to breakfast at cote every Sunday for past 2 years or so. This was my first time trying this particular cote and will be my last. The service was slow, a table of 10 took priority over the rest of the customers at the restaurant, only got coffee and juice and water when food arrived, you’re not allowed to eat the jam on your table although it’s edible (pointless decoration apparently. Very poor in comparison to others cotes I have tried in central london.

An excellent restaurant, good food, great service and reasonable prices. good set menu. We'll be returning very soon. Good location for west end theatres and galleries

The menu is broad, lots to choose from. The staff are very smart and efficient. The food never disappoints. Had an issue this time and the manager exceeded expectations resolving it.

Booking was easy. Staff were friendly and helpful. Prompt service for a pre-theatre meal. We enjoyed our meal and would happily come back here again.

Good choice of dishes and excellent prices. Friendly staff. Food tasted great but could have been hotter. Some pressure at first from staff to order quickly.

Excellent service, and food was good. Ideal for pre-theatre meal, and very good price on set menu. Just not enough choice if wanting vegetarian, and too many dishes with bacon in, if you only eat fish or chicken.

Very busy staff. Did have to ask them if they could take our order as we did feel that we had been forgotten about! Food is always great but did have to wait a long time for one of the dishes which meant we didn’t all eat our main course together.

The service was attentive, friendly and generally prompt, as it usually is. The food was very good, as usual; my only quibble would be that the soup could have been served hotter (I did mention this to our main waitress).

Unfortunately the service was so poor at Cote that it affected our enjoyment of the day. We initially ordered tea and it took 30 minutes to come. Our food order was only taken then. The manager gave us a complimentary bottle of Prosecco to apologise for the delay. However, things then went from bad to worse. There were many mistakes with the food order, bread missing, cold Eggs Benedict, an incorrect starter. It was a shambles and we will not go there again. It is such a pity as the food was actually quite tasty.

THIS Beautiful restaurant is in the heart of theatre land the food is very reasonably priced for such a central London restaurant the staff aim to please it has a very pleasant atmosphere it has a good choice of food and a very good price on a two or a three course meal the portions are also good

Excellent food and service as usual...much enjoyed. Why do I have to use 25 words when I can give you my view in only a few words...a fatuous requirement?!

Competitively priced pre-theatre dinner menu of two or three courses, service was quick and friendly even though the restaurant was full with other early diners. Good atmosphere.

Perfect location, great service, friendly staff and delicious food. All for a very reasonable price, couldn't ask for more. Have been before and would definitely return again.

Food choice & chosen dishes were excellent but the server didn’t actually know what sorbet was or understand a request for a mixed ice cream.

Food was well cooked and a there was buzzing atmosphere. Service was friendly and overall I had a pleasant experience. One point to improve would be the bathrooms/toilets which could do with a cleaner and fresher look.

Excellent evening at Cote, starting with arriving early which caused no problem. Good choice on set menu which was delicious with very pleasant and good service.

As always the food at Cote is consistently good with an extensive menu choice including interesting and delicious specials. The servers are charming and attentive.

Great value for money. Set menu has plenty of choice and food is good. Crowded but with a good buzz. Service from Yvette was charming and helpful.

The food was excellent; you can always rely on Cote. The service was also good. The restaurant, however was very very noisy, which made it very hard to converse. The table were very close together and I think there was music on top of an already loud baseline level of noise, which made it quite an uncomfortable experience. I think Cote needs to think about incorporating some soft furnishings into the decor of hard surfaces! I won't go to this branch again at lunchtime .

Had 2 course lunch special, wine and coffee. All served with a smile and efficiency. Restaurant was full, with lively atmosphere. Have eaten here before and never been disappointed.

Friendly staff, very prompt service, varied selection of starters and main courses and value for money, especially the two and three course set menu. Have now been to three Côte restaurants and have yet to be disappointed.

Good food and good atmosphere. Great for a pre-theatre dinner because of the location. Caters well for vegetarians. Reasonable nice wine. We will come again.

Very friendly, efficient and prompt service and a varied and interesting set menu, ideal for pre theatre visit. Would highly recommend to anyone visiting theater land.

We were quite disturbed by the banging of the coffee machine(s) right next to our table. However, we did mention it to the waitress and were very pleasantly surprised to find a generous goodwill gesture on our bill. Thank you. We will make sure in future that we don't sit at that table!

Been to the restaurant a few times now for a pre-theatre meal. The menu changes regularly and the food is always good. Service is fine and the staff, whilst very busy in the pre theatre rush, are attentive and polite. I recommend the restaurant.

A lovely lunch with an old work friend. A great atmosphere , and excellent food on a set lunch menu . Our first visit to Cote and we would definitely come back here !

We all enjoyed the atmosphere the staff were polite and helpful my only criticism was the starter looked and tasted as if it had been around for a while and all the edges were burnt but we all enjoyed our main courses so was happy

Good was fine, but service was slow. We were seated downstairs which was a bit quieter, but an extra server was needed around 6-7 pm as everyone wanted a quick meal.

Pleasant and attentive staff. Food was served in a timely manner. December’s set menu is one of the best out of an always varied and delicious monthly choice.

Service could be better, food was not up to standard to what I've had before in different branches. I believe they do better at dinner service, in terms of food presentation and taste

Always really look forward to breakfast at St Martins Lane. Nice food and lovely, efficient staff. Will definitely be back in the very near future.

The food was good and the lady who served us was very nice. The wine which you recommended was average.The brasserie decor is nice too but it is quite noisy.

Helpful and attentive service. Staff were more than willing to accommodate my daughter's began requirements. Good value cooking. Highly recommended in its location and within its category.

The only problem was that we had to go and collect our own bill at the end because although we had asked the bill never arrived otherwise we would have rated 6

Service not quite up to its usual high standard - had to ask several times to order pre lunch drinks. Smoked salmon starter was just a piece of smoked salmon on a piece of toast and boring. Other food good - moules frites excellent.

Excellent restaurant for pre and post theatre meals or just a meal. They also do a very nice breakfast. Attentive staff, good value for money

Excellent service even when the restaurant was very busy. We didn't wait too long for the very tasty food and would definitely recommend this branch of Cote Brasserie.

After waiting 25 minutes for our meal, the main course was served before starter! Had to rush our meal as we were going to theatre. The manager and server did their best to rectify the situation. We were told that there was a problem in the kitchen. Our meal was, however, excellent once it arrived.

We enjoyed our meal, the staff were friendly and efficient. We booked a table which was ready when we arrived 5 minutes before time. No one rushed us, we stayed chatting for a while after we had finished eating. Very good value for money and a great place to meet up with friends.

We had a very pleasant early evening meal. The staff (as previously) were super-friendly and efficient and the food was as good as ever. Excellent!

Good friendly environment. Food from the pre theatre menu was as good as usual. Service was pleasant. Use Cotes a lot and especially this one when in London.

The service was good and their set menu had a lot of variety but unfortunately my soup was luke warm as were my potatoes. The staff dealt with my issue and offered a discount on our bill.

Had a great meal before heading off to the theatre. Staff were very friendly, service was good as was the food and the price! Would defifnitely recommend.

The set menu starter of salt cod croquettes was miniscule compared to other starters! (And my complaint was not acknowledged!) However, the main courses were fine and so were the cheeses. The service was good.
