Côte - St Martin's Lane

We have dined at other Côte restaurants in the past, which is why we decided to visit the St Martin's Lane branch, with friends. As in the past at other branches, the staff were very pleasant and efficient and the food of a good standard and value for money. We shall certainly eat at Côte chain again.

The pre theatre meal my husband and I enjoyed was just perfect. We obviously wanted to eat quickly which we did but also well. The three courses were all delicious. Job done.

Table ready on time. Rapid, polite service. Good choice on all menus. Fish perfectly cooked. Out with time to spare before visiting the Royal Opera House.

Reasonable food and fairly priced. Service was a touch on the slow side. Quite a busy place, but we had a table at the back and didn’t feel squashed.

Excellent. Extremely good value, good quality and nice atmosphere. Staff very pleasant and helpful. Essential to book if going at lunch time or pre theatre.

The whitebait starter could have been a bit crispier and the white chocolate sauce (with the iced berries) should have been much hotter. Apart from those small criticisms the meal and service was excellent.

Apart from being unduly noisy, this Cote is fine. The service was a bit slower than usual but the food was of Cote's consistent good standard

We regularly use Cote for our lunch catch ups every 2 to 3 months. There is an extensive menu plus a lunch menu. They also have a large gluten free menu which is great for one of our group. Lovely atmosphere and great food.

We have had breakfast at other Cote restaurants, but only lunch at St Matins lane. We were not disappointed. It was the usual high standard, together with the excellent service provided.

We had a lovely evening. Friendly service, delicious food at a very reasonable price. My only criticism is that it was very hot with the restaurant full, so please crank up the air con!

Lovely atmosphere, fantastic pre-theatre menu, lots of choice and amazing value for money. Waiter dropped his tablet on my foot! Restaurant got very warm but those 2 things aside would highly recommend

Really good restaurant, excellent food, service and ambience, all at very reasonable price. Location couldn't be better, snuggled between theatreland, art galleries, Trafalgar Square & underground/ overground rail links. You'll love it!

Excellent value, tasty food, super staff. Perfect for spending a relaxed time as not rushed. Really love the crene caramel and the fish was delicious

Food as good value as ever, just around 7pm when people are rushing to finish before going to a show it gets franetic, so do as we did, book for 5.30pm, your main course is finished by 6.30 pm, plenty of time for a desert, some cheese or even another glass of wine and no rush to pay the bill.

Large buzzing place in great location. A bit noisy as packed but service very good. Pear and endive salad looked a bit tired but tasted fine. Sea bream lovely.

Cote is a good place to go for a quick bite to eat. We chose it because of its convenient location and the menu didn't let us down. Good choice and good quality food.

Booking made last minute after the marathon. Good service, great food as usual. Always reliable and reasonably priced! There are many more branches now. Bring one to Epsom please

We went for my sister-in-laws birthday and it was really wonderful. We had to pre order before hand as there was a few of us, and there were no mix ups, it was managed very well. I had a cake delivered there before we had arrived and the staff were so helpful and attentive. I've been to côte restaurants all over but I must say, I was super impressed with how well looked after we felt last night. Many thanks xx

We returned to Cote for the third or fourth time for a post-theatre dinner. Overall service and food were very good. We will certainly return again.

You can rely on cote, As always and the location is great for theatre lovers. Reasonably priced food, good service and perfect situation, it would be even better if they provided more veggie options.

Very good service and food from the set menu but the noise! Cant believe what the decibel level was - don't have this problem in other branches - so unlikely to go to St Martins Lane again

As ever, Cote, St Martins Lane offers a welcoming, friendly and mega-efficient service. Their Pre-Theatre Menu offers a varied choice at a very competitive price. The food is always tasty and well presented. We always choose Cote when coming to London for a theatre visit.

THe food and service is good but the noise is awful: almost impossible to hear your companion. I think the bench tables are too close together: the woman on the next table ahd a very loud voice!

All of the staff were so polite and helpful. The set menu is excellent value and the food was tasty and well cooked. Chocolate pot was a bit small and I was disappointed that there is no longer any croque monsieur on the menu. Despite this, it was a very enjoyable meal.

Lovely food - efficient service as ever and the waitress was charming - had the pre theatre menu and the was as ever a good choice - arrived at the theatre with plenty of tomec

Restaurant was absolutely rammed as the weather was glorious and it was a Friday. There was a bit of a delay in getting served but our waiter explained how frantic it could be during pre-show. The food was absolutely delicious - as always. Wine was chilled and service polite and friendly. Excellent considering that the staff were obviously under pressure.

Very crowded felt we were sharing the table with our neighbours could hear all their conversations and them ours! Food was very disappointing tuna salad was thrown together manager rightly removed the price from the bill!

We went for a pre-theatre meal. There were plenty of options on the pre-theatre menu and the steak was lovely. Service was good and speedy but we didn't feel rushed.

Great food, great service. No issues at all. We were there pre theatre and evrything was perfect. Could done with more space between tables but that was all.

The staff are always lovely and helpful and the food is always of a reliably good standard. The St. Martin's Lane Restaurant has a very nice layout.

Lovely food, good atmosphere and centrally located for West End theatres. Staff were friendly and helpful and as we had theatre tickets were quick to serve us. The only complaint is that when I went to the toilet on 2 occasions, the first being when we arrived, 2 toilets had no toilet paper. I informed a staff member there was no toilet paper and she said she would deal with this. I went to the toilet just before we left over an hour later and there was still no toilet paper in the 2 toilets. I informed the same staff member there was still no toilet paper and she apologised for this.

Food quality poor - provencale tart greasy, chicken breast very dry and flavourless. Not enough staff on duty. Party of screeching women oblivious to the noise they were making opposite

Love the Cote chain of restaurants. This was our first visit to this one in St Martin's Lane. To be highly critical we thought it lacked a little in atmosphere, service and food quality when compared with other Cotes.

Excellent branch of an excellent chain. Very busy at 5pm on Saturday but staff very efficient at bringing delicious food and the bill so we could leave in time to catch our 6 pm show at the ENO.

Very noisy indeed. Will not return. Have enjoyed other Cote restaurants more. The salmon fish cakes were sadly lacking in salmon; should have been described as potato cakes. On the plus side the whitebait was excellent; good sized portion with pleasing tartar sauce accompaniment,

We have tried other restaurant groups for pre theatre meals and although most are cheaper the quality is seldom that of Cōte which is why we return again and again.

good deal for central London, conveniently near theatres. The steak frites is still good value. The bream is OK, but consider the cod on the main menu as an alternative.
