Nice restaurant love the food there although it is a bit noisy. Also dont like the “optional” gratuity added to the bill. The waiters make it worth though, great service
Great selection and quality of food from a choice of menus. Perfect for pre-theatre. Our waitress Olivia was wonderful and personalised the experience for everyone,
Visited before going to see a nearby show, and ended up choosing from the pre theatre lunch menu - excellent value, delicious food, lovely staff and lovely bustling atmosphere.
Good food but it was very busy so the restaurant's lovely staff were rushed off their feet and service was slow. How the staff kept smiling I don't know!
Good choice of food on lunch menu and excellent service as usual. Its a great place to meet up with friends or have a lunch party. Would definitely recommend it to anyone.
Although very busy the service was good, our waitress made time for a chat and checked a couple of times that everything was fine. We had the prestige theatre menu and All the food was excellent. I asked that one item (chilli) be omitted from my dish and this was done without any problem, a good indication that the food was freshly prepared.
Excellent food, well presented and efficiently served. I reserved on line and notice was taken that I preferred a window table. We were pre-matinee and were on a deadline. Most enjoyable.
The service was quick enough for a pre-theatre dinner, avoiding stress about finishing in time, at least from the two- or three-course lunch and pre-dinner menu.
Went for my wife's birthday, meal very good although my wife requested no chilli in her starter, but alas there was still a trace, however full marks to the restaurant as they reduced the final bill without me having to discuss the matter of the chilli in the starter (sounds like a who done it!!).
This restaurant is very convenient for theatres and National and Portrait Galleries. The staff are friendly and welcoming The food on the French influenced menu is good
We were a bit disappointed with our meal. Cote seems to have lost its “Frenchness” and now just churns out pretty average food. Seafood linguine was actually spaghetti, the mussels were small and the cod, despite being wrapped in bacon, was dry. Service was OK.
Am a frequent visitor to Cote regularly at St Martins Lane St Christophers Plabe and St Katharine’s Dock always great value for money good food reasonable prices and friendly service - well done.
Good atmosphere and nice table near the window. It was busy as a Saturday however, the goat's cheese salad had little goats cheese. The bread was very hard to cut and the main dish of Place place was only warm. Could have asked to warm it up but needed to get to the theatre. The food was not up to usual Cote standard.
Lovely meal, great staff -don't understand the automatic 12.5% added to bill. What is guarantee given to staff? You can refuse but please don't put on in first place and costumer can decide.
Relaxed lunch in the heart of Covent Garden, excellent service, good menu choice. We had two course lunch special - steak and fries was spot on.
All good and they booked me a window table as requested. No other things to say or report. Waitress was attentive and tried to do her job well
Good quality food at a reasonable cost for London. It took awhile to order our food but it arrived very quickly. Service was otherwise slow and would’ve been a problem had we had theatre tickets
Excellent service during the busy pre theatre period and good value too. One star knocked off for no steak knife appeared after it was offered and failing to point out service is included when leaving a tip, small points but we've eaten at Cote in Cambridge and that's the benchmark..
Wonderful food for a chain restaurant - always has been high quality at Cote. The restaurant got very busy, very quickly while we were there and the pressure on the serving staff was immense. The noise levels did get crazy too so if you're looking for a buzzy, pre-theatre place to eat, it's highly recommended. If you like things quieter, I'd go for an early supper around 4pm to fully enjoy good service and the food.
Definitely worth pre-booking a reservation. Excellent reception, very good choice of menus (both set and a la carte) good service. Cote, anywhere, is always reliable for value and high standards of food. Cote in St. Martin's Lane has challenges from so many theatre audiences arriving in different flows but copes admirably. I look forward to my next visit!
Some issues with availability of starters on set menu and staff struggling to deal with a busy night. Always seem to experience some issue in this branch p. Soho branch is superior by far.
nice and relaxed, great food and polite friendly service. Great value on the set menu.
Have eaten here 4 times this year on trips to London and it has always been a really enjoyable experience. It's especially good a little later in the evening when the Pre Theatre menu is not available. The staff are superb and friendly, especially Sandrine who is somehow able to understand my husbands sense of humour when nobody else, including myself have the first idea what he is talking about. Great place, great staff and great food.
The set menu is very good value. Friendly staff and very quick service. Ideal if you are going to the theatre. Suggest you book though as the restaurants are often very busy.
Cote always delivers, with excellent food at a reasonable price. We go there every time we have a theatre trip. The service is excellent and the staff friendly. It gets my vote very time.
Please check your bill carefully, we were overcharged, although we chose the 2 course deal they charged us for the al-carte menu. Food ok but veg not great
The staff were attentive but not hovering- there when you needed them. The food was excellent and there was a good choice of wines. The maitre d’ was helpful.
Always like Cote for their great value meals and excellent and friendly service. This time again did not disappoint. The only slight quibble is that when seated in the booths, which we like, there is at times a lot of crashing about in the glas/crockery area which makes conversation challenging! Overall, great as per.
Enjoyed the ambience, but as a regular Cote customer was disappointed with the ratatouille and goats cheese starter as there was hardly any goat cheese and the rocket was not very fresh.
Excellent food and service, I would definitely recommend anyone to give this place a try. Pre-theatre menu is excellent value and has some lovely choices
As always excellent friendly service, good food, seasonal ingredients and a good choice for non-meat-eaters like myself. Amazingly good value for money with the set menus.
First of all arrive say 10 minutes before your reservation time so you can switch/choose tables without any difficulty. On a HOT day like today you will then be in a better position to choose a table hear an open window. If you are LATE your chances become less. On this occasion everything was good and not just the food. Full marks to the 2 staff members who were polite and efficent.
Friendly and great service, great atmosphere, and spacious (unlike some west end restaurants) seating. Three of us enjoyed the set menu and delicious wine .
Always good food and service. The waitress was very pleasant and welcoming, and continued to be very attentive throughout the meal. I go regularly to Cote restaurants and will continue to do so.
Nice restaurant and the food was amazing although service was a little slow before the cooking times for a steak was explained to us by the waiter, some fraught lager or larger bottles which were actually cold would also be nice. We had a lot of confusion over which restaurant we had booked as 2 within 2 minutes of each other, both state “covent Garden” in the description - an over all pleasant visit
A courtesy refreshing spritz then tuna nicoise - just the ticket in this hot weather. I think they forgot about my crepe but were kind enough not to charge for it. Attentive staff.
Very helpful staff. Very reasonable priced menu, good quality, excellent presentation. Very good value. Nice ambience. Not too noisy and booking easy for the pre-theatre dinner, will come again.
Really efficient service on an unbelievably hot evening for pre-theatre supper. Cote on St Martins Lane is always understandably busy but the waiters are never fazed. The only quibble was the pissaldiere - the second time of ordering it in the last year and obviously pre-prepared and really dry both times. Surely the topping should be succulent and plentiful to counteract the drier base? Most of it was left. Other than that, Cote is often a reliable first choice and didn't disappoint this time either.
As always, good food, excellent service, great atmosphere and value for money having been going there for several years and shall continue to do so
I particularly requested a quiet table & can honestly say it couldn't have been better (No. 20. It was right by a door which opened onto the street, enabling a little breeze on a scorching day. Gluten free food was excellent as always, but I would like to request once again that the special lunch menu be marked up in advance so we don't have to ask which items are GF every time! This always means your staff having to take time out to do this. Please don't assume that Just because we need GF food, we want the a la carte menu!! All in all, it was excellent & highly recommended & the staff were attentive & delightful.
No air con in restaurant so it was very hot. Meant we didn't want to linger too long so maybe that was the idea...?! But we'd have had another bottle of wine if we weren't melting!
Excellent in every way. Eating later at 3pm meant a much quieter Cote yet the staff were quick and amiable and the food fresh and hot.
My meal was slightly spoilt by two very noisy gentlemen on the next table. They were sat back from the table, and talking in very loud voices, with no thought for other customers. I asked the waitress if we could move and she moved us one table away .It was only when they left after an hour of making their last drink last. that I realised it was making everybody else raise their voices. It was ok after they left. I would think it is not unreasonable for staff to ask really noisy customers if they could please talk a little quieter, as they were disturbing other guests.
Excellent meal had the half chicken & fries, very good value, friendly staff, relaxed atmosphere & even got a free drink with the July deal.
Polite, friendly staff and service was efficient, even though the restaurant was very busy towards the end of my visit (around 18.30). Food good as always.
Good meal dinner before heading to the theatre. We had a very nice and friendly waitress, who made sure we were served with plenty of time before curtain up which we appreciated
We had dinner before going to a concert. Good service, although staff seemed to be quite stressed out. The food was really nice as usual
Great service as usual. Friendly but not overbearing. Breton fish stew delicious. One of my favourite meals. It was lovely sitting by the open windows on a wonderful balmy evening when London was swettering.
Excellent, as always. Love the restaurant. Great food, attentive service and good value. Try it and you will be a fan. Best Calamari in London, by a million miles...
Good food but it was a busy lunchtime and overall the service was good but a little slow. In the end we ran out of time and couldn't have a dessert which was a pity.
