Shame there wasn't any chicken available. But the staff were friendly and made a great fuss for my daughter's 13th bday.

Food very average and portions very small, the tables were compact, we left the restaurant very quickly due to the person on the next table being very loud and not the most pleasant to watch devour a meal. We were ignored by waiters/waitress several times, the restaurant was busy but I don't think this excuses the staff.

The good points are the attentive and efficient service, they know that in the theatre district everybody is watching the clock so there’s not too much waiting around. Dishes arrive hot and there’s no surprise with the quality. The mussels, duck liver pate, duck breast, steak and desserts were nice. Fish pie was very dry but they took it off the bill for us which was nice. The bad point is definitely the noise, deafening !! we were only 3 and we had to shout at each other to make ourselves understood. Also I booked a table 3 weeks ago and we got the worst one, by the entrance door (drafts), people coming after us without reservation got better tables ! Book downstairs if you can as this is quieter but I won’t be back because of the ambiance it was like dining in a train station. Guys, too much hard surfaces, think soft furnishing to make it less painful for your customers ears ! My heart goes on to the staff, they all going to be deaf by the age of 30, I had to make the waitress repeat 3 times to understand what she said !

Service and food good as always. Table was disappointing at the bottom of the stairs in the cellar dining room. Staff and other customers passing too close. Uncomfortable, intrusive and got bumped by other customers.

We were given a very warm welcome and taken straight to our table. Our waiter was delightful as was the Restaurant Manageress who came over to our table several times. We enjoyed a very pleasant early supper before going to the Theatre? thank you so much. Extremely good value.

Made very welcome even though 20 mins late (due to cancelled train). Also service was very quick and responsive. We were sat by the door so the people coming in could have spoilt the experience, but we didn't notice.

All good except for perrsistent background din - we could not hear ourselves talk. Seated by the bar. Loud clatter of china, glasses etc. Everyone having to raisebvoices. Spoilt ambience.

Great restaurant with a great vibe. Obviously loved by locals as well as visitors & tourists - always a good sign! Delicious food served by cheery, attentive & efficient staff. Can thoroughly recommend this place to anyone who wants to eat in 'theatre-land' - but probably best to book as it seemed to be full by 6.30pm!

A superb dinner! We are frequent diners at this restaurant and others of the same chain but last night's dinner exceeded any meal we have had anywhere. From the September special menu we chose the whole lemon sole dish. When it came it was perfectly cooked, succulent and tasty. Definitely 'special'. The serving staff were excellent. The atmosphere most convivial. thank you.

Food, service, waiting times and value all extremely good or excellent. However, it was very noisy. We a ccept that is not your fault as it was lunchtime.Part of the noise problem was due to three very loud men sitting at the table near the bar. They clearly had drunk a lot and stayed at their table long after finishing their food. That inconvenienced your staff as well as taking up a table other customers could have occupied. We found their excessive noise distracting. Other than that, a great experience.

We had booked a table and we did not have to wait and I had asked for a table against the wall which is easier for the noise level. Excellent food and good service as ever.

Very attentive staff, pleasant and thoughtful at all times. Prompt service and nothing was too much trouble. Really enjoyed the experience. Summer martini for September was absolutely delicious! I had to have another one. Truly redolent of a French summer rose wine. Really happy there was a gluten free menu and there were several options available, which you don't always get at most restaurants. This makes Cote stand out from most well known chains. Delicious crab mayonnaise and a very generously sized portion of vegetarian crepe. The side of golden beetroot with a sprig of fresh tarragon was succulent and unusual. A most satisfying and pleasureable meal indeed!

come to cote restaurants a lot for pre theatre dining with friends. the service and quality of food on this occasion were excellent. if there was anything I could comment about it is the closeness of the tables, often leaving you feeling a little cramped on the small two seater tables. luckily for us we asked to move to a more roomy area so all good. The noise level was better once we moved to a more secluded area by the front of the restaurant at the window by the door, rather than in the middle of the restaurant near bar area. Really enjoyed our time at restaurant before our show.

Had a late Sunday breakfast. Server was very accommodating with my order as I wanted to change a few things and she also made suggestions. Food was of the usual good quality at reasonable price. It was really nice to have a quiet restaurant at the beginning, very unusual for this chain, but naturally that changed over lunchtime.
