Although this is an extremely busy restaurant, it still manages to make the experience special. The hard working yet always friendly waiting staff combined with an excellent menu make this our go-to restaurant when in "Theatreland".
Very pleasant evening. The French Onion Soup is always a winner!
Five for Saturday pre- theatre dinner. We got a very happy welcome, a pleasant table and the service was really fast and friendly. Food was great and hot! And the wine we chose was very good value. All in all, an excellent experience at St Martins Lane. Thanks to everybody involved!
The perfect place for a pre-theatre meal - but the noise level was so intense that it was absolutely impossible to converse with my wife. However, the service was faster than we anticipated - so we were expected to leave to allow further customers to occupy our table.
Food temperature of main courses was tepid when delivered to table - sea food pasta mostly shells in the sauce - flavour overall was good though - service from staff was excellent - we use Cote a lot and were slightly disappointed
Sour dough bread was a bit hard for 'easy' eating & there were bones in the fish parmentier.
We were sat right at the very back of the restaurant where it was very hot. the table was laid for 6 and we had booked for eight. The waiter got one more chair but then one of our party had to get her own chair from a free table. Then we had to ask for 2 sets of cutlery several times. one of our party asked for bacardi and coke but we were told there was no rum on the premises as there was no room -surely you would expect stock of such a popular drink? However the food as always was delicious
We went for the pre-theatre prestige menu, which was excellent. The service was good, staff very friendly and helpful. The house red wasn't bad either.
The staff were polite, attentive and efficient throughout our visit. The restaurant was busy but we were not kept waiting for our food. The buzz around the establishment created a great atmosphere. This was our second time visiting Cote, and we realised why we had come back. Highly recommended for quality cuisine, and first rate service.
Service and food not as good as on previous visits. 2 parts of the order were wrong (although quickly rectified) had to wait a long time for butter to come (asked twice). Had I not been to this branch of Cote before I would’ve thought it was good but I have probably eaten in Cote St Martins Lane 25+ times over the last 4 years. Therefore my rating is based on specific knowledge of the restaurant and staff
I visited after the restaurant after the theatre on the 13 April with two friends. I thought I lost my keys( they fell out of my pocket). I was very concerned when I could not enter my house!! The next day I telephoned and spoke with the Manager. She was very helpful and ensured that they were returned to me within a couple of hours Many thanks. I shall be back soon for dinner again .
We regularly use about three branches of this chain and have never been disappointed. The food is good, the staff excellent and the experience most enjoyable. We are always made to feel most welcome, please keep up the good work.
Great food good service but very noisy pre theatre v busy .. calmer at 7.30.
A fantastic meal with amazing service from our waiter (Tiago). The whole team went above and beyond to help us celebrate my mother's 60th birthday - Could not be more appreciative or recommend Cote St Martin's Lane more!
Lovely meal and good service from friendly attentive staff but it was so noisy in the restaurant that I could hardly hear anything my lunch guest had to say. The noise levels would sadly put me off coming back again.
Good food, menu has lots choice & theatre menu, service relaxed & friendly at a peak time, fantastic value. Reliable, tasty food at an excellent price
Excellent range of food and good value for money served by pleasant and friendly staff in a great location. Would recommend making a reservation to avoid disappointment.
We went for a pre-theatre dinner. 9 of us . It was great value and delicious food! We had the set menus and some wine. Highly recommend! We were eating in the basement which to be honest was quite loud.
drinks came after the meal. It was very busy but the service was slow - unfortunately not as good as the cote near drury Lane .
Always extremely good service and a very warm and friendly atmosphere.
Excellent value for money, great service and pleasant ambience. We ate from the pre theatre set menu, plenty of choice. Food was delicious and nicely presented.
The restaurant was very loud, very hard to have a conversation. The waitress was also keen to push the may offer of martinis but did not explain that we then wouldnt be able to eat off the menu. Food was ok, slightly over cooked- asparagus and the steak were way over done. Not my favourite meal at cote which was a shame as it was my birthday! Waitress was attentive but seemed hurried as all were catering to the large (and very loud) group next to us
We booked a pre-theatre dinner for 5pm and the restaurant had a 200 cover group incoming around 6pm We ordered olives plus bread as anti-pasta and Moules and French onion soup as starters. However depsite request the bread didn't arrive until 5 mins after we'd finished the moules and soup, so we said too late. The manager offered "to do something on the bill" and when it came, they'd taken off £2.50 for the bread!! Gallic humour (unless he was Belgian) The mains and desserts were absolutely fine, but we'll be looking elsewhere for our next pre-theatre dinner in the West End
We were a group of seven and we all enjoyed our meals and the good service at a busy Saturday lunchtime in the heart of London. Everyone came away from the restaurant saying that they would like to visit Cote again.
As usual, It was very nice, excellent food and service.
The pre theatre menu is reasonable quality food at great prices. Service was very efficient and helpful. However the restaurant was very busy and rather noisy.
We had a very good experience, despite my guests arriving late, and despite talking to front of house several times, the service was not as good or as prompt as usual. This meant we were unable to have pudding, though one of my guests was hoping to indulge. Just thought your usual smooth operation wasn’t quite as good as usual. But it won’t stop us coming back.
This restaurant always seems to be busy, perhaps because of its location but also because the food and service are impressive. But the place gets very noisy.
You might have got a 6 star rating had the website though which I made the booking has been clearer about where you were booking. Having the London restaurants dotted throughout the alphabetic listing of the UK made it hard to find the one I wanted. The food was great and good value and the serving staff delightful.
Great atmosphere, friendly and efficient service. Good choice of food and value for money set menu.
As aways an excellent experience, lovely food ambiance and service.
Food was very tasty and was served quickly (important because we were going to the opera)and efficiently by a very pleasant waitress. We use Cote often and this was one of the best meals we have ever eaten. The
It was far to busy tables were too close together and not enough serving staff. They brought the wrong drink. Disappointed
Great food, well priced. Excellent service. Only gave 4 stars and not 5 as I often find the temperature in the restaurant a little on the cold side.
Despite arriving at 6.10 and ordering by 6.20 our food didn't arrive until 7.20. We had tickets for a show (it was a pre-theatre menu) and missed the first 12 minutes of the show. The food was good, as was the wine, while the staff reduced the bill significantly and provided us with a free drink - the whole thing for free would have been better, and speedier service best. Took the shine off the evening and meant that we could only have one, very hurried, course. Disappointing as I liked Cote. :(
Busy but quick service. Food was delicious. Loved the rhubarb martinis!
Excellent experience as always. Lively atmosphere and a good choice of set menu at very reasonable prices and quick, efficient, friendly service. Look forward to returning soon.
Tempting menu, wonderful bread, every course was delicious and attractively presented. Service was helpful, efficient, friendly. I wish a branch of Cote would open in Washington, DC!
Fantastic food, lovely and attentive staff. Quality food worth every penny. Would recommend to others. Variety of food on the menu was suitable for everybody.
Fantastic food very well priced and excellent service. Would definitely recommend especially before a show if you are time limited!
A Very Nice Meal, served quickly Food Hot and Taste.Would visit again if in Area. Staff Polite and Welcoming,A Bit Noisy People were Enjoying themselves. Overall a Nice Experience.
Lovely lunch, excellent service, delicious bottle of wine. Always very satisfied whenever we are in London and eat here. Very handy for the National Gallery and Portrait Gallery as well as several theatres.
As always Cote provide an excellent service, speedy if required, more casual if you don't - staff are excellent - service is very good and food, value for money is as good and better than anywhere. I would ALWAYS recommend Cote.
The service was excellent but the food was just about OK nothing wrong with it but not top class but I guess not top class prices. Had calamari but they were very thin and the fish parmentier had been around for a while.
Excellent friendly staff. Great service with a smile. Food as usual very good. I will definitely be going backnow.
Another excellent meal at Cote in St Martin’s Lane which is our “go to” restaurant in the Covent Garden area.My daughter and I had booked a table for 5.30. We were immediately shown to our table and given nenus. We selected three courses from the Orenier Pre Theatre menu. Everything arrived promptly and we couldn’t faul the quality of the food and the attention of our waitress. We would highly recommend this restaurant
The food was very, very good - particularly beautiful moules and pork belly. The staff were very busy, but all were excellent; above all our waitress added her personal sunshine to what was already a jolly event. A really memorable meal, and the perfect prelude to a lovely evening of opera at the Coliseum theatre.
Good food served quickly and the service was very attentive. Gluten free options were great too and the taste was never compromised. Will return for sure
This used to be my favourite branch. Have visited twice in the last couple of days and don't know what's happening there. Staff don't seem to be managed properly - glasses crashing to the ground on both occasions, abrupt staff, waiters standing round with heavy trays waiting for instructions, general unkempt feel i.e. Grubby floor, tables not cleaned etc. Food not as nicely cooked e.g. Calamari soggy and reheated, pate ice cold from fridge, wine not served til after food. Will leave it for a while as there's so many other places but it's a shame.
Love this place! Food fab & staff super! Been twice within a few days it's so good! Can't wait to get back again!
