Côte - St Martin's Lane

Service very prompt which was important as we were attending a performance at the ENO. Our waitress was competent and cheerful although she was very busy. The food ,as usual, was good.

Warm greeting, reasonable service throughout the meal, food good quality, service tailed away despite the restaurant emptying out and took several attempts to attract someone's attention to pay the bill! But an enjoyable lunch.

I have been going to Côte in St Martin's Lane for years and, as usual, there was a good choice on the menu, the food was excellent and the staff were efficient but friendly.

Always a great experience at Côte Brasserie. Good service, excellent food and value. Such a good pre Theatre menu I never know what to choose.

The food was of a high standard, as usual, though there was a lack of consistency in the plating up of two plates of the same dish.

Really good value for lunch and would definitely return. Portions not large but perfect for lunchtime - at 12.95 for 2 courses in central London cannot go wrong

Very good prompt service and good quality food. The only downside is that like most restaurants these days it is very noisy-partly due to all the hard surfaces

Our waiter was very poor. Ordered bread didn't come and we also had to ask several times for more water as he seemed to forget all requests for this. Unfortunately the coq au vin ordered by two of us was barely luke warm - clearly not the waiter's fault. This was altogether a different experience from the ones we have always enjoyed in various Côte brasseries previously. It was particularly disappointing as we were entertaining friends from the US. If it had been our first experience we would be hesitating about going again.

We came for my girlfriends birthday and I would definitely recommend eating here and will be coming here again. The service was perfect, even though it was really busy and the Pre theatre menu was fantastic. For quality of food and value for money i couldn't have asked for anything better

attentive staff ran out of sauvignon blanc though and then overcharged food bill. Problem rectified though. Good ambience food satisfactory if not a little bland (reference my fish)

Excellent pre-theatre dining. The set menu is very good value for money and the service is very good. We enjoyed our complementary Kir Royale as part of the Cote Rewards scheme.

Great restaurant in a dependable chain. Friendly, efficient service, especially considering we were there at peak pre-theatre, at the heart of theatre land! Great quality food, especially for the price.

They were short of staff. Food was ok (not something you think you'd like to go back for) and ambience was fine. Good price for what you got.

Very good choice, very good meal, very good service, very good prices - what more could one want? We'll be returning in the very near future.

Excellent as always. Georgina who was looking after my table was extremely helpful and efficient and ensured that I enjoyed my meal and was in time for my trip to the theatre.

We had an excellent lunch prior to going to the theatre. The food was as good as always and our waitress was exceptionally efficient. Keep it up Cote!

Always reliable for providing a tasty meal. Good choice on menu and good value on pre- theatre menu. Service a bit erratic and slow at times

The usual excellent service and good food. The chicken dishes were very tasty and my grandaughter's steak fritewas also very good Friend had soup and I had desert both of which were excellent

Great food and lovely atmosphere at Côte Brasserie - Covent Garden! Only negative is that we had to wait quite a while for food as they were very busy, but to be expected.

Great value, good choice of a la carte or fixed price menu, the quality food of very good and great location. Staff helpful and friendly.

Appalling service. Waited 30 minutes for someone to take just a drinks order. Gave up waiting & went to get them myself. Food eventually turned up nearly an hour after arriving. We booked for pre theatre menu as had tickets allowing an hour & a half before play started but was such a rush to finish & get there in time. Several other tables in same situation, complete chaos.

The food was great and whilst the staff were keen to help they were so busy that when you ordered you sometimes had to chase for delivery.

Good choice for a pre-theatre meal. Good value menu, however very busy on a Friday evening so can feel slightly rushed. Don't forget to book!

Good service, friendly staff. Tables a tiny bit too close together, but it's a busy place with lots of pre-theatre diners to look after, and neighbours were friendly. We had the pre-theatre menu. I didn't get a finger bowl with my moules marinières, though our neighbours did. The mussels were in a cream sauce: the menu did list cream in the ingredients, I have just checked online, but I didn't read that far at the time, and the title should perhaps have been moules marinières à la créme, which is gilding the lily. Lucky I'm not fussy about dairy, but it was also a bit under-flavoured, and I'd have liked a bit of bread to mop up, but at least a spoon was provided. The fish (bream) with ratatouille was delicious. Servings were small, but enough, and so I had room for excellent chocolate mousse, not too frothy or gelatinous, not too sweet. No dietary indicators on the menus. Loos were fine, if a bit small, but the pile of unused paper towels next to the basin had been drenched, perhaps a shelf? And the towel bin was already full at 7:10pm, bigger bin?

Excellent restaurant for pre theatre dining. Good efficient service with a menu for all tastes at good prices. We certainly are happy to return here again and again.

It's the first time we have been to the resturant and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The 2 course set menu was very tasty and the service was excellent throughout. Will be going back again soon.

Extraordinarily bad, slow service. I had some friends visiting from the US with me. We wondered if the staff were all on their first day of work, as the service was so awful. We ordered a bottle of wine while we looked at the menu and it arrived twenty minutes later after we had asked for it three more times. The rest of the service after that was equally slow. When they served the main courses (eventually!) one of my friends did not receive hers, which arrived ten minutes later when the rest of us were almost finished ours. When we asked for our water to be re-filled, again we had to ask three times and eventually one of my friends had to leave the table with the container to have it re-filled. I have been to this Cote before but today it was an absolute disaster. It was clear that the staff had not been trained. I was really embarrassed to have suggested this restaurant to my friends. The food was good but the "service" was non-existent. The only thing that arrived quickly was the bill! We would have been entitled to refuse to pay the "service" charge but we paid it. Something is very badly wrong in this Cote. We

I thoroughly enjoyed the meal. The restaurant is an attractive and comfortable place to eat. The service was very good and my fish stew was delicious. We will be coming again soon.

For the first time we weren’t in the window - it was very noisy and very hot. Food was good as usual and excellent value.

Our table was ready when we arrived. The menu was good and varied and our choices, duck and pork belly, were delicious. The staff were friendly and efficient.

Super, friendly staff made our visit. Excellent food as always especially the sea bass and chocolate mousse. Good value for money and great location for theatres.

Very nice meal and great service. The pre-theater menu is excellent value. Only slight problem was that it got very loud so we found ourselves straining to hear each other.

The staff were fantastic and the atmosphere good. Sadly my steak was over cooked, otherwise an enjoyable couple of hours. It was a Sunday evening so possibly the kitchen staff were not the regulars.

Polite and helpful staff. Reliably good food, as ever. Rather noisy venue and your interior designers should give more thought to materials which would absorb sound.

The fries were ultra salty, because we ate at 6:15 you are rushed through as if every diner is going to the theatre. Beer was warm so not the greatest of experiences I’ve had at Cote.

We like Cote. The food is absolutely reliable. Only problem this time was that there didn’t seem to be enough staff: the restaurant was busy but not packed, but the service was slow.

Good atmosphere, excellent food, well paced service and all at a good price. Had the pre theatre menu and went with a vegetarian friend, but of us were happy.

Exellent food and the waitress was fantastic so nice and bubbly. she qasbreally on point with her service.

Food as good as usual, service pretty poor, staff need more training with the new electronic ordering... Very little contact with the customer, also appeared to be short of staff

I always go to the St Martins lane resturant the food is always very good , the staff are very friendly and give good service . The menue at the restaurants is excelant and they do have some different dishes every month. My friends and I always enjoy our evenings there.

Good service from a friendly young team and despite being Very busy with pre-theatre diners they all appeared to be efficient and attentive . We had a good meal and would certainly return next time we go to the theatre. Thank you

It was extremely crowded, I guess over booked hence the speed of service and attention was not great as many people was there because of attending theatre or opera nearby and needed quick and good service It was quite disappointing as I took my guess with me

Normally love Cote for good value and good food, but unfortunately this time service all over the place and food well below par. Shame as normally good.

Super friendly service, gorgeous food, highly recommend pre theatre menu, got a free glass of kia royal with our theatre tickets. Great location for the Noel Coward Theatre

Absolutely excellent experience. Pre-theatre menu was very varied. Food was excellent at a very good price and the staff were friendly and efficient. I would certainly use Cote again

The food was delicious, reasonably priced especially with the prix fixe menu and the service was excellent. Definitely a go to again restaurant. Very good location for the West End.

Very attentive staff; great ambience and relaxed atmosphere. Good service. The duck was not piping hot and was slightly over seasoned but all the other food was delicious and beautifully presented.

Having visited several other branches for pre theatre, this visit was disappointing. Having been seated , and given menus we were just left, whilst staff passed by again and again. Having got some ones attention ,the iPad system resulted in staff looking down when taking your order so no hallo , no eye contact , just a robot going through the motions including trying to up sell bread and olives. This was the feel of the meal, impersonal and disinterest staff and food that was just so

The staff were v attentive & took excellent note of my allergies. Usual good standard of food on the pre-supper menu. Unfortunately 2 starters with walnuts!! Will of course go to Cotes again
