Overall a really good night just waited a little while to get a drinks order taken, and then one of my guests did not receive their pudding option as we were told they had run out, even though I had pre ordered everything 72 hours prior to arrival. I don’t feel this should have happened. But we do love coming to Cotes as it is always good value for money and a nice atmosphere.
Great food from the set menu ahead of a nearby concert, and even better service from a lovely lady. Always a pleasure to eat at Cote St Martin's Lane!
I use this chain a lot and last night our steak was very disappointing :( it's the first time we've had guests with us that didn't enjoy their mains, steak was gristle and quite tough (Very unusual for one) maybe they were having an off night! Waitress did give our friend an extra scoop of ice cream but wasn't quite the same
I booked an upstairs table for lunch ages ago but we were delayed (by the trains) by 15 minutes. The seating guy said he’d let our table go because we hadn’t rung (fair enough) but instead he’d seat us downstairs. If this is offered to you DON’T GO! We were seated in a gloomy cramped windowless cellar with less than chirpy staff. It was horrid. I ordered the ‘risotto vert’ If you order risotto & it comes out within 5 minutes....well, if you can cook you know the answer. It was a green tasteless bowl of sludge. I took 2 mouthfuls & called the waitress. She looked at the bowl & said “I’ll show it to the chef.” As the chef had sent it from the kitchen a few minutes earlier I’d love to know his response! He would have known it was dreadful! My husbands salmon & ragu was fine, I ate some of his, left my wine & LEFT the establishment within 15 minutes of arriving - how dreadful is that?!! As we walked out there were tables for two available. If a chef can’t make a decent risotto - go elsewhere. Cote - really dreadful experience, you need to up your game. Please do show my review.
We arrived early - almost 15 minutes early - and they couldn't have been more helpful. Although the restaurant was packed, the charming Front of House chap found us alternative table to the one they had allocated as this was just finishing up. So we were sat down, menus presented, drinks offered in seconds. The waitress couldn't have been more charming although she said we could not have our free aperitif which you had e-mailed me about, unless we ordered from the Mains menu; which in fact we ended up doing! But by then we each had a glass of fizz in hand and were happy. The food was just what we wanted for lunch and served extremely efficiently without making us feel hurried at all. A lovely experience with delightful staff. Well done you never fail us. I can't give you five stars for the atmosphere as it was very noisy when we arrived, although it got better as it emptied out at 1.45 for the matinee folk.
Great food good service just a little too loud. Other than that this is our 2nd time and it was very good.
Lovely meal offering good quality and superb value. We were served by an excellent, professional team who provided great customer service during an extremely busy pre-theatre sitting. Wonderful both to experience and observe! Many thanks.
Food was reliably good as always. Only problem was the very long wait before we had water and drinks - about 30 minutes. It felt just a little chaotic as maybe the waitress was new?
This is good value for money, but it can be very noisy in the evening. For that reason, it may be best to go this one after 7:30 pm unless you have theatre tickets. The service and food are very good.
Excellent choice pre theatre lunch good service efficient comfortable seating will go back have been before would recommend it thank you very much thank-you Cote St Martins Lane
The food on the set menu is good value and is of very reasonable quality. The service is fair. The main drawback is that the restaurant is noisy.
Lovely atmosphere, great staff. The food came far too quickly, it felt hurried. I asked for a delay between starter and mains but the food arrived within 5 minutes. When I complained about this the waiter was extremely apologetic and offered us complimentary coffee and pudding. Excellent response and customer service!
We were a party of 9 people and we have been to this branch of Côte several times before. The service and food have always been excellent, and this was no exception. It is very good value for money and a good atmosphere. Thank you to all the staff who made our lunch such an enjoyable experience.
As usual, a very good experience at Côte. The menus cater for all tastes and most dietary needs, the food is nicely-prepared and presented, the wines are decently-priced, and the service is friendly and professional in a buzzy ambience. We were with discriminating friends, and everyone was happy. Excellent value.
The staff were excellent during a busy pre theatre period with girl managing the door a standout.
The food was excellent, service friendly but somewhat slow. Had to leave I a hurry to make it to the theatre. Tea arrived too late to enjoy,
We all had good food and the service was, as usual, very friendly and helpful, without being intrusive. My guests and I all agreed that it was a really enjoyable experience.
Fast service. Food just ok this time (2nd time here in 1 year), seafood linguine pasta dish distinctly lacking some flavour I thought, a bit bland. Mentioned to our waiter, but unconvinced he took note. French onion soup starter was also just ok, nothing to get excited about. Essential to book in advance, theatre lovers!
The staff of the Cote, with their efficient cheerfulness and charm help to create the ideal setting for a pre-theatre dinner or an after work unwinding meal with a friend or friends.
This restaurant is understandingly busy with people taking pre-performance meals but there are plenty of staff and they cope admirably. The food is good and the set menus good value.
Booked ages ago so was somewhat surprised to find we had been allocated a table in the basement. Surely,if you have taken the trouble to book you should get a decent table? Food quality good but portions appear to be getting smaller.
Our waitress, Natalia, worked incredibly hard and huge praise to her. My friend and I shared the crab mayonnaise which was good. The swordfish was over cooked. Carrots and mashed potatoes good. Excellent service overall.
Great menu with plenty of choice, and very good value. The staff were very friendly, and we all enjoyed our meals. We will return - recommended!
Excellent buzz in restaurant. My friends chicken is a bit dry but overall fun time. Lovely little lunch stop for a busy area. Thank you
Overall, the food was impressive and good value. The staff were very helpful and cheery. The noise level was, however, quite deafening. I really feel some sound deadening material would be in order and make for a more enjoyable experience.
Thursday 18th April We were seated straight away and our order taken quickly, the starter was delicious and we waited for the main course .......and waited. The waitress came over and apologised for the wait, she said the manager would go to the kitchen. Our food arrived approx 10 minutes later and the waitress said she would do something with the bill. True to her word she had taken off one of the main courses and without a complaint from us.Thank you, this was very much appreciated.
Food was a little greasy, service fluctuated from quick to painfully slow, we waited for 15 mins to order our desert, which incidenttly was tough but what annoyed me most was the fact that we arrived a little early for our reservation and were left standing while others who arrived after us with the same number in their party were seated first. I took the time to reserve a table but got treated indifferently for arriving early. Unimpressed with the entire experience
Very noisy and a long wait to be served.Friendly staff.Gluten and dairy free options very limited for all courses. The original sweet served was not suitable as they were berries straight from the freezer / without the chocolate sauce as it needed to be dairy free. A fruit salad was good.
Excellent service, very convenient for pre/after theatre. A bit noisy.
The restaurant was very full but the service was good as was the food. The starters were excellent and the Sea bass was well cooked and tasty. Desserts too were excellent.
An excellent meal, all my group enjoyed it very much. Only downside to look at is the difficulty in acquiring an aperitif. No Aperol or Campari available for my wife. Once this disappointment had passed everything went smoothly & all the dishes we had were excellent.
We had a lovely lunch, with a pleasant ambience and great staff - what more could you ask for? We'd definitely recommend Cote St Martin's Lane!
Brilliant service. The waiters could not have been more helpful and obliging. Only criticism is that it was a little noisy but I suppose that is to be expected on a Friday night. Food was delicious.
Consistent quality, excellent service and great value keep us returning to cote time after time. Dont change a winning formula! Always a good choice of seasonal dishes.
Very slow service, didn’t get offered a drink for 30minutes. We had to standup to get ourselves bread plates. Very rude waiter who wasn’t apologetic when the food for our table all arrived separately
Reliable tasty French classics served up efficiently in good time before the theatre.
Good Food and good service as always, a very enjoyable experience
Wide choice of food at affordable prices, especially the set menus. always a good place to eat in central London before the theatre. Am a regular customer here over several years, never disappointed.
The staff are efficient and friendly but your Kir royal and my salmon dish were mediocre. The veg were overcooked but otherwise it was quite tasty. The Kir Royale was very synthetic and when I mentioned this to the server he replaced it with a prosecco (without charge.)Overall quite satisfactory and thanks to the young man for his action. Tricia
Very friendly welcome at the door and lovely service. The Prestige A la Carte was excellent value
Amazing service, attentive and really made the meal special, it was very busy though so quite noisy but would definitely recommend to friends and family.
Good food as always and very pleasant and helpful staff. It was very busy but we were served and managed to get to our concert in time. Only problem is the noise which can prevent conversation
Seated as soon as we arrived. The service was excellent. the menu was very good but i chose a monthly special the monk fish; very very good! Not too noisy but a large room
Arrived at a very busy pre theatre time, shown to our table efficiently and promptly, service was excellent, food was hot and prepared as directed. All for a fantastic price. Would throughly recommend.
Friendly and efficient service. Table a bit near serving doorway. Good steak nice and hot. Creme brulee was perfect . Would come again when we are on London.
Fabulous breakfast as usual. Very attentive and polite staff in what ever Cote you go in. Would highly recommend this one.
Really lovely restaurant. Waitress and all staff very welcoming and helpful. Food was lovely too. Would definitely return and spend more time next time. Thank you.
Thank you, we had a lovely meal and the food was excellent; the service fantastic and a lovely way to start an evening out in London.
Good good. Excellent front of house and service. One of our regular favourite places to eat in London.
Perfect light lunch before the theatre. Couldn't fault the food or service!
