Great pre theatre meal. Staff were great but it was busy - could have been 3 not 2 on duty downstairs. Food yummy and nice wine.

Great friendly service, good range of food styles, reasonable wine list (but wish they had more by the glass or carafe). Got the table I asked for.

My friends and myself use St Martins Lane every time we visit the art galleries, we do this at least 6 times a year and we have never had a bad experience yet. On top of that we have also used the Brasserie on the occasions we have gone to the theater, so in the last 12 months I have eaten at St Martins Lane at least 10 times. My wife and myself have also had meals in your Welwyn Garden City restaurant twice, Blue Water on three occasions and twice to your Marlow branch. And the quality of service and food has been excellent on every occasion. I guess that is why we keep going back.

I have eaten at this Cote previously and had no issues but during this visit we were firstly given a table that didn't appear to have been cleaned as it still had a jar of jam on and was still coveed in crumbs from the breakfast. Our table was book for 12 noon. When we mentioned it we were moved but unfortunately got the 'wobbly table! This was sorted by the Waiter with a folded up menu which was needed as we had soul for started. We seemed to wait a long time to be served and didn't get water until after our starter and wine was with us. All the staff were very friendly and polite but appeared to be new or having an off day!

The food was absolutely lovely and the staff very friendly. The only downside was a problem with the card machines that meant we couldn't pay for a long time and nearly made us miss the start of the play were were going to.

Good food at reasonable prices. Very busy at lunch and dinner times. Pleasant staff. Comfortable seating. Nice ambience. Try the Creme Caramel - it's the best!

There was a slight mix up of our orders but it was quickly remedied. Difficult to sustain conversation as very noisy! Food good, always dependable.

An enjoyable lunch from the good value set menu with good food and service prior to the theatre. An ideal choice as Cote always delivers.

We had booked a table for 4 at 6.15 pm, following a matinee performance of 42nd Street. Restaurant buzzing and not a table to spare. We were at first seated at a round table near the door. It was a cold, windy night and I asked the girl at the reception desk whether we could be moved. She made enquiries and returned to say that once a table (further into the restaurant) was cleared, we could have it. It was much cosier and had more room. We all ordered from the pre-theatre menu and all meals were good. One of our party asked if the steak could be served medium rare, instead of pink, and this request was accommodated with good grace and carried out to perfection. OK, the helping of chips which accompany the steak meal are not huge, but this is a £12.95 (2 course) meal! I have no doubt that you could order an extra side helping of chips. We had a bottle of red wine for £16.50, which was full of flavour. None of our party could manage the third dessert course. All the staff attending us were cheerful, pleasant and well-trained. They obviously take a pride in their work. Despite the large number of people, we were served swiftly and there was no pressure for us to leave. We would certainly use this Cote restaurant again.

Excellent value and choice for a pre theatre visit. My steak and frites and apple crumble were just what I wanted on a cold winter’s night.

We greatly enjoyed our meal before the theatre and the staff were friendly and efficient. I would give a higher rating if the tables weren't quite so packed together. The loud conversation going on at the next table was very intrusive. The tables needed to be moved around to be able to get in and out from the bench seating, and to avoid being set alight on the candles!

Excellent service and value for money and a good atmosphere. Very much enjoyed the Breton chicken and the mushroom risotto was also good, if a little too salty.

I’ve eaten here a few times. Service is good and friendly. The fixed price menu is great value. I’ve marked it down a bit this time simply because the steak frites was a bit over cooked. (Seems a bit harsh but the waiter when he takes the order says that they serve it medium). Other than that it was good and I would go back.

Although the food was fine, the tables were jam packed together and the noise level thus really high. I could hardly hear myself speak or hear my friend. At peak periods it would be best to request a table downstairs. The staff are pleasant and friendly but having to strain my voice to be heard made for a disappointing experience.

Great as usual. Lovely waitress. Great house wine. Nice gesture of little chocolate fondant with a candle for a birthday! Lovely good value food. On the way to theatre and it did the job well as always. One star off because in my opinion steak on the steak frites is lesser quality than it used to be. But apart from that spot on.

Good service and tasty food. Only negative is noise levels quite high and my Dad you is hard of hearing found it difficult to hear me even though i was sitting opposite him. We were at one of the front tables, with tiled floor and window so nothing to deaden the sound. In future I will request a table in the back section which is quieter.

We were very lucky to buy tickets for the Harry Potter play Parts 1 & 2 at the Palace Theatre. I had an £80 Voucher for Cote Brasserie and consequently booked to dine there during the two hour gap between the two parts of the play. Prior to ordering I asked the waitress if I could us

It took then 20 minutes to put a bottle of water on the table and a further 10 to take my order (the perils of being a single dinner). Having said tht the food was of the usual Cote standard (so the Chef is on the ball even if the front of house were not). Having kept me waiting the comped the dessert and clawed thier way back to a 4.

Good food. But ghastly service. Surly, unattentive waiter who didn't once look my companion in the eye and barely looked at me,forgot our pommes frites and didn't even bother to pick up our money from the table before we left. Even though we had to walk around him to leave the table he didn't even say goodbye! If he ever did pick up our money and check it he will find we deducted the optional service charge!

Negatives- marble table had a huge chip out of the side (meaning my glass nearly fell off the table), male member of staff- a manager I think, completely forgot to bring condiments when asked so had to ask someone else Positives- our waitress and female manageress could not do enough to make our experience good. They were efficient, friendly, smiley under pressure as it was very busy. Leek starter was under cooked and not easy to cut so was whisked away and a new one prepared speedily. Always have a mainly good experience when dining there!

The food was excellent, staff helpful, polite and friendly. The only drawback was being seated by the kitchen door. This can be slightly forgiven due to how busy the restaurant was pre-theatre. My friends and I will certainly return.

Have been to this restaurant many times, before a trip to the theatre. It is very popular and always extremely busy. After a slow start being served with our drinks order, the service improved and our three courses were delivered promptly. All the food was well presented and tasty. The lamb and creme caramel were particularly good.

Food was excellent. Service a little slower than expected, but the restaurant was full and very busy so it is understandable that service was slow, however it would have been better if we could have had a drink whilst we were waitin to order. In the end ordered drinks and food at the same time

Good location and usual Cote menu. Nice staff. Only complaint is that the tables are to close. I had a rather large gentleman sitting next to me and it was cramped. Impossible to have a private conversation. Tavistock Street restaurant seems better planned.

Good service, pleasant staff, food reasonable and not expensive for central London. Use this chain quite a lot and find same experience elsewhere. Would recommend.
