Another fantastic evening at Cote St Martins Lane with the warmest of welcomes, a lovely buzzy atmosphere and warm friendly and ultra efficient staff. Food was just superb and wine too! Wish we could eat here every day. Thanks St Martins Lane team!

We arrived early but were immediately accommodated. Food and drink were good and our waiter pleasant and efficient. We have been there before and will continue to visit as we think that the whole team provide excellent and friendly service,

Very busy lunchtime, but attentive waitress, who looked after our requirements well. Good quality food for the price. And help choosing a wine that would work for us better than the original offered. Safe choice of restaurant, and so close to Trafalgar Square.

Good atmosphere. Full of people. Good service. Rather disappointing starter, papery puff pastry. Mains pork tenderloin was luke warm. Disappointed as have had better in this restaurant in the past.

Have visited this branch of Cote many times before going to the the theatre. The restaurant is always on the noisy side because it is usually full and all the hard surfaces mean that sound reverberates. However, today it was unbearably noisy - mainly due to the two guys at the next table who shouted rather than speaking to each other to the point where it was an unpleasant experience to be there. We couldn’t wait to get out into the relative quiet of the street! The food was also a bit of a disappointment: portions definitely seem to have shrunk and my peas, onions and lettuce side dish had whole lettuce leaves rather than shredded leaves which is what it should have been. I think we will be looking elsewhere to eat for our next theatre visit.

Our first visit to a Cote Brasserie and we were really impressed. The food was excellent- tasty and hot. Service was friendly and attentive, although it was very busy. Will definitely use again.

Sat in basement for first time in years of coming to this Cote branch. Which we found crowded and crammed in compared to upstairs.

All staff work so hard and went above and beyond to make our experience beautiful. Mom is in a wheelchair so the staff assisted me in manovering around the restaurant. The maitredi (sorry didn’t get name) blue suit was so lovely and friendly not only to us but I watched and he was lovely to everyone. Thanks for making special memories with my terminally ill mom. We had the best meal thank you xx

First time visiting this particular restaurant but it was a little disappointing compared to the one in Clifton Bristol. The service was a little slow and we had to ask for our complimentary drinks a few times. When we ordered our meals, the starters were fine but when the main courses arrived all dishes were overcooked - one even couldn't even eat their pork due to it being too overcooked/tough and one meal was incorrect! upon payment, we noticed we were charged for the cocktails which we had to query. I really like Cote Brasserie in Clifton but not sure I'd go to the one in Covent Gardens again due to the variety of choices very close to the theatre district. Sorry :(

The quality of the food was fantastic. We had the two course menu for £12.95 and it was exceptional. Great chef and waiting staff. A perfect start to a night out at the theatre.

Pre-theatre menu had enough choice for everyone at a reasonable price. However, the eggs benedict/florentine came cold to the table as evidently the kitchen only puts cold hollandaise on top of the hot poached egg. The ratatouille similarly came tepid to the table without such an excuse. The rest of the meal was fine and the staff attentive despite it being really busy. Full marks to the strong waiter who helped the wheelchair in and out - but why don't they get a ramp?

Nice food, bit pricey. Bit noisy. But overall pretty good. Slightly annoying when they ask you for review then state that you haven't been wordy enough! Are they paying me for this review? I don't think so!

A party of four yo enjoy a get together over a meal. We had the warmest of welcomes and our guests loved the buzz of the restaurant. The food and wine all came quickly and was just lovely, complimented by a great value wine. By the time we had enjoyed the silky desserts we left having enjoyed a very special evening. Thank you Cote St Martin’s Lane team for a great job from start to finish!

Bit noisy but this was the pre-theatre crowd so restaurant very full. Hard to hear what my companion was saying at ties and this not helped by the number of times the servers dropped things on the wooden floor. When that happened the noise was deafening. Our order was taken quickly and the food arrived promptly. Quite small portions but very nice. Don't like service charge to be added to the bill - I like to decide for myself if I will tip - so I asked for it to be taken off which made the waitress feel that she had done something wrong. She hadn't, she was charming and we left a tip anyway, but I would still prefer not to be forced into it.

I booked a table at St Martins Lane Cotes for my sister as it was her birthday. I asked on my booking for a well located table as it was a special occasion. We arrived 10 mins previous to our booking time of 2.30pm and were told a table was not available and advised to find somewhere to have a coffee. We arrived back at 2.30 and ended up on a table next to the entrance with a constant flow of people standing next to or passing by. Water was not offered and the kind gentleman on the next table offered me a glass as he had heard me say how thirsty I was. The water arrived but no cutlery on table. We ordered and the food arrived with no cutlery. The starter goat cheese had little cheese and was a bit of a mess with random tiny pieces. The chicken my sister had was awfully presented with a sort of pea mush over the butterfly chicken. However my Boeuf en Croute was excellent. I complained regarding the meal and an apology was offered gracefully and a reduction of bill, but not really what I wanted on this special occasion. Why the request on the booking had not obviously been considered, I find very disappointing. I use Cotes frequently and normally receive high quality food and excellent service. Needless to say I will be avoiding the St Martin's restaurant in the future.

Visited on a Friday for pre theatre meal. Glad I had booked in advance as they were extremely busy but despite this the service and food were very good. I had the set 3 course meal which was good value. Only negative was our table was right by the street door and people were hovering around us whilst they waited for their table and a cold breeze every time the door opened.

We had a table booked for 5 o'clock. No pre-theatre menu only a la carte or special mother's day menu. Started off well but a 30 minute wait between starters and mains is not acceptable; especially when no apology or explanation is offered.

THIS IS MY THIRD VISIT TO COTE, ON AN ANNUAL DAYTRIP TO LONDON. I COME BACK BECAUSE THE FOOD IS VERY GOOD, AND THE SERVICE FRIENDLY AND WELCOMING. I DO, HOWEVER, DISLIKE THE ADDED SERVICE CHARGE OF 12,5 %. I WOULD ALWAYS GIVE 10% ANYWAY AND IT IS EMBARASSING TO HAVE THAT TAKEN OFF THE MENU. IT IS VERY LOUD AND LIVELY, BUT IT DOESN'T STOP ME COMING BACK. I UNDERSTAND THE QUICK TURNOVER, PARTICULARLY BEFORE 7PM, BUT YESTERDAY I DID FEEL THE MEAL WAS RUSHED. BUT I THINK THE POSITIVES OUTWEIGH THE NEGATIVES. THANKS TO FRONT OF HOUSE FOR TAKING MY DAUGHTER'S PHONE FOR CHARGING, WITHOUT QUESTION.

The food was excellent but the table was not ready at the 7pm booking time and consequently the staff refused to allow our group to order from the set menu that had been agreed when the booking was made, despite the delay being the fault of the restaurant and not our group Eating a la carte doubled the price and this sharp practice is poor and will not encourage any of the 6 of us to return again

Had a wonderful meal at the St Martins Lane branch on Sat 9th March 2019. Had originally booked for 7.45pm but due to problems with the trains had to phone up & ask to move the time back which they were more than happy to do. We could not fault the meal which was superb with a special shout-out to the Lamp Rump dish on the main menu which was brilliant 🙂 Staff very helpful & attentive - would definitely come back when next in London 🙂

Nice meal but the waitress was a bit abrupt. We had an email saying we could have a bottle of wine but wanted to check if this was with any menu. The waitress stated you have to order from this menu and snatched the other menus away quite abruptly. Besides this incident the rest of the meal was nice.

Most enjoyable evening - we ate very early because of the ballet so only had two first courses each - crab mayo and prawns. Just right and not too heavy. Despite being packed for Mother's Day the service was fine and got to the theatre in good time. Pity no disabled loo although they did offer to take my guest next door to some hotel!

Had a meal at this restaurant yesterday after visiting theatre, it was a lovely experience. Staff really dedicated and helpful and everyone of them had a smile for my husband and me, made us feel very special. I had the chicken and my husband had the salmon, they were both delicious and cooked beautifully. The chicken especially was so moist and tasty. We would both highly recommend this restaurant, and you definitely need to book as it was very busy when we arrived and when we left. ( This did not impact on service timing, meals and drinks were bought in very good time to our table.). This was my birthday ( I had not mention this) and this meal after our theatre visit really made my day and birthday. Thank you to all staff of this restaurant.

The meal was okay but I’ve had much better meals at Cote before so left a little disappointed. For what I chose it was overpriced, the fillet steak was small and not tasty at all. The chips were cold so we got them replaced and sides and sauce were additional. Some of the other meal options were more reasonable. We didn’t bother staying for dessert, thought we’d head to a nearby place for ice cream instead!

Very good food; attractive, buzzy ambience and really wonderful, warm and impressively professional service from Olivia, for whom nothing was too much trouble, including going out briefly to get mint sauce from a local shop. Recently a staff member at the London Bridge branch said, " ...everybody's been asking for mint sauce with lamb." So please save Olivia the trouble- not very French, I know, but a reasonable expectation if you serve lamb in England. Otherwise full marks- thank you!

We quite often meet at a Cote, but this was our first visit to this branch, and we were not disappointed. Our booking was for lunch pre-theatre and the restaurant was very busy (and noisy), but the service was excellent - efficient, calm and personal. As always, the menu choices were varied and interesting, and very good value. The three of us chose different options and very much enjoyed our meals. One of our trio is lactose- and dairy-intolerant, and care was taken to ensure her requirements were met. A chance remark of mine led to a final lovely surprise: the presentation of a complimentary dessert, complete with candle, accompanied by a rendition of Happy Birthday from a quartet of the delightful staff. All in all, a very pleasant experience!

I had booked a pre theatre table however we had to wait in a queue for 10 mins and only after I pushed were we seated in front of those who hadn’t booked. Our table was in the basement and was hot and cramped. Whilst service was quick and the food tasty, we had so little time following the delay to be seated that we had to rush and it was not a pleasant experience.

The food is always good and excellent value for money. Unfortunately today I had a table at 6.15 for a pre-theatre meal and our main courses did not appear until after 7.15 (play started at 7.30). The staff were reasonably apologetic and gave us 50% discount but that did not make up for having to shovel the main course down in 5 minutes flat. Hopefully this is not a regular occurrence.

We were on a very tight schedule between the end of the pre-performance talk and the start of the actual performance, the talk ran over so we didn't arrive until 1835. I had warned Côte and pre-ordered our meals. When we arrived they knew about us and served us quickly. The steak frites were very good as usual and the house red went down very well. We were out by 1910 in good time for the opera. The waiter was most attentive and helpful in spite of the restaurant being very busy. A thoroughly enjoyable and stress free experience, it couldn't have been better. Congratulations all round.
