It was a very successful lunch chosen from the set menu. I was very lucky and was sat at a table at the front - in fact in the window. It can be very noisy further back - the best lunch for a long time

Great food and service. It was very busy as it was NYE but the staff managed the tables well and the food was lovely. Would go again.

Buzzy restaurant especially early evening where I would think the main number of diners are eating pre-theatre. Don't expect to get a table between 1800-1900 unless you've booked. I saw a lot of hopeful diners being turned away. The staff cope very well in this extremely busy period serving and turning over tables. Don't come for a romantic tete a tete though as it can be very noisy. They have several booth tables with banquette seating each side. I saw that they were laid for 3 people on each side but for some diners who are laterally challenged this could be a problem! We chose from one of the set price menus. Food and drinks came quickly. I don't think we need to be told that the jars of water are 'complimentary' any longer as we all must know that by now! We both ordered the 'coupe noir' but when they arrived the chocolate sauce was cold. I have found this before (as I enjoy this simple dessert) and eaten it as it was but asked for the sauce to be served at the correct temperature (as per the menu) this time. The waiter took our desserts away and returned them a little later with hot sauce. By then the ice cream had melted slightly but we ate them anyway. Have eaten there before pre-theatre and will probably do so again.

Despite being virtually full on arrival, a very good experience. We were sat downstairs for the first time which was fine and easy for the toilets. Great service and terrific food as usual.

Very pleasant ambience in restaurant very conveniently located for the theatres around St Martin’s Lane. We had the pre-theatre set menu which offers a good choice at a reasonable price as per the normal Cote Brasserie house Standard. Very buzzy but sometimes a little difficult to attract the waiter’s attention at evening peak times. Food quality is almost invariably good with a reasonable selection of wines including house wines. Overall, a good choice in the West End.

A good value and reasonable meal. Maybe not as good as some other Cote meals I have had but possibly due to the choices o made

Usually a good standard of service at Cote but when we went for breakfast this weekend the service was terrible it took an hour to get our food and then when we eventually got it two of the orders were wrong and the waitress even questioned me when I said my order was wrong. Disappointing when the service is usually good in cote.

Worst time ever at Cote St Martin's Lane. Very surprised and hope this is really a one off as this is one of my favourite branches. We had a late breakfast around 11pm. Our coffees were served cold, the eggs royale came half an hour later and the orange juice even later after several reminders. Staff were really stressed out and it was extremely difficult to get their attention. Awful experience.

Disappointing. Had reservation at 18:00, arrived 5 minutes earlier. There were several empty tables for 2 at the front and I asked for one of them. They said there were all reserved. Never mind. I was taken to a table downstairs, took my seat and a couple of minutes later I'm told that that was the wrong table and they needed to take me to upstairs again. Really?!! Upstairs again to the back of the restaurant to finally get a table. Food was good as usual but it took a long time to get served and we ended up rushing to make it to the theatre. Our waitress did her best, she was the only one in our area and had to handle lots of tables. They were obviously sort of staff and the whole thing was a bit messy, chaotic and disorganised. Pity as this has always been my favourite Cote in the West End. Hope this was a one off. Also we left at 19:15 and at least 2 of the tables that we were denied at the front were still empty* *This was never sent for some reason. The service has improved since then. I brought a large group for a meal on a Sunday afternoon before we went to a musical event in Covent Garden. Everything ran so smoothly, staff couldn't have done enough for us and we all enjoyed our 3 course meal. Well done Cote.

Regular Côte diner in Bristol, Bournemouth, Cirencester & London so know the style & menu. In London St Martin’s lane my husband & I had a not so good meal- I got a gastroenteritis ? Pâté ? Mayonnaise. Very sad & spoiled our stay. Only had porridge for breakfast & a cup of tea at lunchtime so it had to be our meal

Slow start when our aperitifs failed to arrive and we were later asked if we were enjoying ourselves. Sadly the answer was no because we had not got as far as receiving the menu. Fortunately once we had been noticed, Cote's usual high standards.of service and quality of food/drink were soon back - so we'll be back.

Normally very good, but on the day they had forgotten the garlic butter for my rib eye steak. After requesting the butter it arrived when the steak was cooling down resulting in the lumpy butter on the steak! Therefore deducted 1 point for a normally good service.

Excellent menu. Food well presented. Good wine. Love the stone jars for water. Noisy which is fun but some softer absorbent surfaces would improve the experience.

Lovely dinner at Cote St. Martin's Lane. The service was a bit slow but the food as good as usual. We used a voucher for a free bottle of wine but when they brought the bill they had charged us for it! We had to wait for them to reissue the bill and ended rushing to get to the theatre on time

We arrived very early for our booking but staff were very helpful in finding us somewhere to sit on an extremely busy evening. It was my wife’s birthday. Our party of four were very impressed with the quality of the choices they made from the a la carte menu. We all enjoyed a relaxed, jolly evening!

Booked a pre-theatre so chose from that menu. Friendly, quick service. The place was filled with a lot of pre-theatre diners so busy. Our chosen starter was finished but our second choice was good. Unfortunately, the roast vegetable with lentils and poached egg wasn't, the veg underroasted and cool. However, we got our food in plenty of time and as I frequently eat at this super place, it wasnt a problem.

Enjoyed the food, restaurant was buzzing. We were well looked after by an Italian waitress, who coped admirably in spite of the restaurant being busy with pre-theatre goers.

Cote is generally a guarantee of a good dining experience. Not so at Cote St Martin’s Lane. We were given an isolated table in a corner near a window and the entrance to the restaurant. It was a cold night. Wouldn’t have been so bad if the door was kept closed but the sheer volume of people coming in and enquiring about table availability meant that it was often wide open. Consequently, it was very cold. Furthermore, the mass of standing people waiting in the entrance were pressed up against our table. The starters were at best lukewarm when served rather than piping hot. This was pointed out to the waiter who said it wasn’t his fault and that his manager was ‘over there’ wherever that was. The mains were indifferent. Hugely disappointing. We decided against a sweet, just wanting to leave the place. The bill arrived at the speed of light as did the card machine. As we left through the crowd of people milling around in the entrance we spoke with some of them and warned them not to sit at our vacated table as it was so cold there. Departing the restaurant the manager appeared and called out ‘sorry’ to us. A bit late! I have often eaten in Cote Bistro, Tavistock Street which is excellent. Go there and avoid the St Martin’s Lane branch.

Nice food as usual. I specifically asked for a table not next to the coffee machine, as my guest is hard of hearing, and rather oddly we were allocated a table in exactly that spot, but we were able to move to a much quieter area.

A great time by four good friends catching up but not so sure about eating downstairs. Very near the service door and quite a low ceiling makes it slightly claustrophobic - when you book, ask for ground floor!

Food was good as usual but it was noisy - difficult to have conversation without shouting- and we were seated directly under the air conditioning that was switched to heating so it was much too hot!
