The mushroom brioche was a bit of a cop-out and the steak was rather tough but the service was willing and the cost was very reasonable on the set menu.

When we visit London we love to visit Cotes for a meal. Yesterday (17/10) was a chance for another great meal. We were welcomed with a complimentary aperitif, very tasty. The seating by the window gave a good view of the bustle of activity along St Martin’s Lane. The meal was of the usual high standard and the evening much enjoyed.

Great place for an informal lunch in central London. Good food, good wine and a great price. I go there frequently.

Good food and service. However this was spoilt by the noise. You cannot prevent the hub-hub of conversation but you can stop the banging of trays and the clash of cutlery.

Food great. Very noisy but worst of all was the excessive sound of the coffee filter being repeatedly banged against something metallic. This spoilt the experience.

This is the second time in a week that I have eaten at a Cote restaurant. The food on Tuesday night at Cote FestivaL Hall was mediocre and cold. I realise this is a really busy Cote, but every time I go to this Cote, it’s never the best experience. In contrast, the food and the welcome today at Cote St Martins Lane was excellent. The waiter (?Diego from Brazil) was charming and helpful. The food was up to the standard I expect from Cote. The £9 glass of wine was overpriced. All round a good experience today. Thank you.

Gluten Free paradise! Huge GF menu of traditional French bistro fare. I felt like I had as many choices as my non-GF college (and even a few he didn't) and everything was prepared expertly and deliciously. Steak was just a tad grossly and salad underseasoned a little.

I continually return to Cote for their good service and value for money with their monthly set-price menus. My experience yesterday evening was as good as usual but I was especially struck by the friendliness and attention of the staff. It makes a huge difference, unlike other restaurants, that they have one person to attend to the table and another to deliver the food. This speeds up the service and keeps everyone happy.

Lovely staff, good food. Even though it is in central London tourist district I felt the kindness and attentiveness of the staff was excellent. They were great and the food was good.

Always reliable and good value; Cote is our regular go-to after the theatre. Considering the huge number of diners in the St Martin's Lane branch the staff do an amazing job efficiently and cheerfully.

Another good meal at Cote St. Martins Lane. The staff work very hard and serve good food promptly. Ideal venue for pre/post theatre dining.

Much much better menu choice for the prix fixe. Onion soup, pasta and crème caramel were excellent. The price of the Lagarde white wine was originally £13.50 now £17.50! Still the same wine? We will go again as we have been eating at Cote for over 15 years.

Ivette was superb with her service tonight and handled our short stay in the best way possible. We had visited another branch in London and wanted to come back to enjoy this once more. She was even kind enough to provide a wonderful unexpected birthday drink for my Mum which really helped her experience and made us enjoy it! Thank you ever so much!

We had s lovely late lunch this Saturday. We were pleasantly surprised that the lunch menu was on offer. We thought that was only available Mon - Fri. The restaurant was very busy but the service was excellent, both friendly and efficient. The food was very good but there was one minor niggle, that the endive starter had warm endive served with a very cold boiled egg and the endive lacked flavour. But it did not spoil our lunch and we will definitely come again.

As good as usual, above average but not exceptional choice and quality of food. But service was very good and attentive, no waiting to order, for food, or for bill and payment. Noise is always a factor at St Martins Lane, but as I was eating alone today it didn't affect me too much.

Good service, mussels were pretty thin as was the sauce (if they are not good don’t sell them), squid was all coating and not much inside, uncomfortable chairs. Good location. I booked a meal including a special offer of a cocktail but the waiting staff didn’t remind us so we didn’t get one but otherwise they were very attentive.

The waitress spotted my friend wasn't enjoying his meal and intervened (just by reading his face), asked what was wrong (stake too chewy, too much fat) and she replaced the chewy stake with a better less fat one. I don't think I've ever been in a restaurant and had such amazing service!! They really bent over backwards to please us and will definitely be coming back, time and time again. Very impressed :-)

A workaday atmosphere in this Cote - some have a bit of chic, this one doesn't - and service from 4-5 different people who ranged from taciturn to charming. Food was really good. Standard of cooking is high for what you pay. NB We booked with their free cocktail offer from their mailing list. Cocktails great - but then appeared on the bill. I queried it and they took them off. The same happened the only other time I booked with the free cocktails - hmmm, I wonder if they do this and see who notices? So if you get the free cocktails, check your bill!

Excellent service, food and ambiance. Had the set meal 3 courses. We both started with mussels in cider, really lovely flavour to the sauce. Then I had the salmon supreme which was excellent and John had the goats cheese ravioli which he enjoyed. Both finished with the apple crumble, always good. We shared a bottle of sauvignon blanc. Waitress was lovely.

Apologies for the delay. It seems to me that the chef is not as good as, for example, Le Côte in Sloane Square. It was also very, very noisy! However, the staff was very friendly and helpful!

I’m a regular dinner at Cotes and for the first time I was disappointed with the food. I had a calamari starter (one of my favorites) which was over breaded and over cocked. It was hard and greasy tasting as though it had sat on a plate being kept warm from a time before I arrived. The creme caramel had barely a teaspoon of cream and caramel source. Sadly disappointed. the Breton chicken was good though and as always the staff were excellent.

Have eaten at cote many times and always had good food and service Last night four of us ate at 6pm and the restaurant was packed. Ordered the steak frites and within 5 minutes is was on the table. Quick service but unfortunately the forgot to cook the steak from the freezer. It was raw, chewy and dreadful. Asked to cook them all again and they came back over cooked and inedible. They should not pack the restaurant out if they can not deal with the numbers for money. This was a celebration for my mother and ruined the evening. Will think twice about returning here now

Lovely bustling atmosphere on early Saturday evening pre-theatre. Main man on the door was exceptional as always and the staff are excellent given so much pressure. And a window table for two as requested as well. But my wife's haddock goujons were really overdone and the frites were only warm so no five stars on this occasion.

We have now visited several branches of Cote Brasserie including Bury St Edmunds and Norwich as well as the St Martins Lane branch on this occasion and have found them all to be equally exceptional for service, choice, food quality and value. Well Done

Food very average and portions very small, the tables were compact, we left the restaurant very quickly due to the person on the next table being very loud and not the most pleasant to watch devour a meal. We were ignored by waiters/waitress several times, the restaurant was busy but I don't think this excuses the staff.
