Nice bistro style restaurant with very good menu choices and great service

Despite a power outage on a very busy lunchtime, the staff gave the best service that they could and the food was as good as ever.

We arranged to hold a 90th birthday celebration lunch for my mother with the manager at Côte Chelmsford for a party of 14. Ages ranged from 6 to 90. All the preparatory work was handled very well. We felt confident that Côte would deliver the event that we wanted..... and they did! On the day, the staff were all extremely helpful, friendly and gave us excellent service. The meal was delicious, everyone was very happy with their choices and very full by the end! The atmosphere was just right: we were given enough attention to make it feel special without overwhelming us. Thanks Côte. We’ll be back!

Have been about 20 to 30 times now only had one problem which happened on the last occasion which happened on the23rd of may ,we had to wait 45mins for the food.Staff were excellent as usual and knocked the drinks off the bill,my wife was more than happy. The food, wine and staff have always been excellent,it’s our favourite eating place in town.

All enjoyed their food and the service was prompt and friendly. thanks you for catering for multiple drinks bills which help[ed our very large group to organise the bill.Laura wa s most courteous and helpful on the two occasions we met prior to the lunch and on the day and other staff did a good job.

We had a lovely family meal yesterday. As usual service was very efficient. We were a large party of 11 and we didn’t have to wait for service, or long for food. Everyone cleared their plates. Great venue, friendly efficient staff and good value for money. We will definitely be booking again.

Good staff main menu a bit high priced, but food nice. Good location in Chelmsford centre near Cathedral. Near by shops offer a good range of products and interest.

My friend and I enjoyed our visit yesterday and appreciated the friendly service. It was rather quiet, due no doubt to the Covid-19 emergency. We're not often in Chelmsford but we'll keep Cote in mind for future visits.

Great value for money and the staff are very friendly and attentive

This is the best restaurant to go to in Chelmsford. The service is amazing, the food outstanding, relaxing and inviting. My favourite restaurant to go to.

Due to the Covid-19 outbreak we had the entire restaurant to ourselves. A strange experience, but the food and service were as good as ever!

Celebrating wife’s birthday service fantastic, food was the best ever

Initial thoughts upon being seated was that we were being rushed - ordered drinks and before they arrived was asked if starters could be served. Stated not until we have had the drinks - and there was a look of disappointment on server's face. Hence a little on edge - after main course felt obliged to ask for a 20 minute wait before desserts were served. Also after initial comment (re starters and drinks) server kept going to different people to ask if next course could be served. You missed a trick because I would have ordered more drinks and hors d'oeuvres. Apart from this the experience was excellent - great food and could not fault anything else. Will definitely be back at some time

A very nice restaurant indeed and delicious food. Love the marble tables. A shame that the set meals aren't on offer on Sundays. We found it a bit pricey, especially as vegetables weren't served as standard on dishes, (most dishes costing around £3 extra). Our actual waitress was very good but I was ignored twice by 2 others that I tried to talk to. We would return but mid-week.
