The food was excellent for all 4 of us, very delicious. The waitress was lovely and efficient, everything ran on time. Lovely ambiance and a good central location.

Warm welcome on a busy Saturday. Excellent food and service. Lovely place to eat in a good friendly atmosphere. Add to that good value for money we shall be going there again.

Great service, good food, comfortable surroundings. You can rely on a good quality meal at Côte A little more expensive than some restaurants in Chelmsford but worth the extra. Set menus are very good value.

Always consistently great food and service. Never disappoints. Excellent menu which changes regularly,but always retains the classic dishes. Has a wide ranging wine list, although sometimes I would like to be able to order a good brand non alcoholic lager e.g. Becks Blue.

We love this branch of Cote. The staff are very friendly and always try to give us a table that suits us. The food is great and service efficient. The restaurant has a nice atmosphere. We'll be back.

Service was excellent, coffee was really good, so was the ambience, and almost all of the breakfast. The Avacado's were hard and although they looked pretty encrusted with rock salt, they were OVER salted.

Its was my wife's birthday and i'd called them to agree to put a candle in her dessert, but they forgot (so did I until she'd eaten half of it!). It didn't completely ruin things as they'd brought us a complimentary drink, plus we were in a rush and they hurried our courses for us which might have led to them forgetting the candle. Food was good as always though.

We dine at Cote approximately twice or more a week. This eating experience suits us well as the menu is very well executed, service is first rate and ambiance just up our creek! We often have breakfast at the weekend and take in all our weekend papers and stay there for a good hour or more. If Cote keeps up this standard, it will continue to have a loyal, discerning following.

Lovely open cafe environment. Very good choice and quality of French style food with friendly service. The French cider was very palatable and House Rose pleasantly dry.

Superb Beef Bourguignon the meat was so tender wish it was always on the menu. Will be going again soon great service & atmosphere.

Food was really lovely and we had a great round table. The service was a little hit and miss , though when I have been previously it's been superb. I really like it and will return.

Very pleasant experience. Staff helpful and friendly and choice of food was interesting. Good portion size, in fact my starter was much bigger than expected. Free bottle of good wine was a bonus. We'll be back, thank you.

Had lunch last week. Prompt service and there was a good choice on the set menu but more choice of fish would be good.. I had haddock from the a la carte menu with a starter of moules which was delicious. Would recommend

My husband and I went for lunch and ordered from the specials menu. The lamb was perfectly cooked accompanied by roasted fennel and mash. The flavours were all lovely together. My husband had the chicken supreme dish which again was delicious. The service as ever was great with friendly, attentive staff.

Wonderful meal and excellent staff as usual Manager friendly and most welcoming Highly recommend - one of the best places to eat in Chelmsford especially before the cinema or theatre

Alex the newly promoted Manager was very nice and made us very welcome - the waiting staff had remembered what we normally had and the evening was excellent with good food and a lovely friendly atmosphere

we arrived after a visit to a local gallery and it was as though we were meeting friends - amazing welcome and Laura, the manager, was particularly helpful - we had a slight problem with one of our meals which is very very unusual and the waiter offered to take it back but we were in a hurry and so declined but I noticed that he saw Laura and at the end of our meal it was clear that Laura had taken notice and had sorted this out - this is the sign of a very good manager as we came away feeling that we had been listened to and that the Manager had taken steps to try to remedy things. I have to say that this in no way is meant as a complaint - it is more of a compliment and we will eat here again and again as we like it so much Trevor

An excellent meal and service as always. The staff at every friendly and always ready to help and discuss the menu. Would definitely recommend this restaurant

We were welcomed and our complimentary wine offered. The service was excellent and so was the food. We had the monthly special, as we often do. We normally dine at Cote once a month and I am sure that will continue.

Been several times before but this was the worst. Whilst the staff are lovely, the overall experience was not good. Lighting very poor (broken ceiling light), extremely slow service for every course, starters arrived at exactly the same time as the mains, so we sent the starters away after waiting ages for them! Desserts and run out. Booked a 8:15pm table and we got our desserts at 11pm and we hadn't had starters, so a very SLOW meal, which was ok as we were friends chatting, but they really could have done better. Food was ok.

This was the first evening visit and whilst the food was top notch as usual and the Staff wonderful as always. The service was very slow as it appeared there were not enough staff.

A very enjoyable meal served by quick, efficient and friendly staff. The staff appeared to work extremely well together providing a seamless service. The candlelight added to the ambiance of the restaurant. However, we were aware that some customers appeared to be finding it difficult to read their menus in the low light. We would certainly recommend Cote in Chelmsford to others.

Friendly and prompt service... and amazing food as ever. The vegetarian breakfast is by far one of the best in town; the veggie sausages are awesome.

Outstanding lunch: excellent cuisine, good value with superb service, friendly, not overly intrusive and discreet. The cuisine is of a high quality with a very wide and appropriate choice. The set meal is very fairly priced.

Lovely October menu and the complimentary Birthday Kir Royales were great. First visit to Chelmsford Cote, only been to London ones before, not busy but then it was a Monday, pleasant ambience and excellent service, will definitely go again.

Excellent meal and service. This was a pre Theatre meal and made a nice start to the night. The food was cooked to perfection the Duck was delicious.

Our late lunch was very pleasant. Food was great. The service slackened off at the end when staff went off after finishing their shift. So there was no one to take our payment. Eventually it was paid. All good.

We had really lovely meal, good atmosphere and brilliant complimentary wine. Excellent evening . will definitely visit again. I had a bit of food envy, my husband had the fish stew which was delicious.

Some items on the menu were unavailable. One of the waitresses was quite grumpy. I don't like having a 12.5% tip added to the bill, even though it is optional. The high quality of the food went some way to overcome the drawbacks.

First visit to this branch of Cote and we were very impressed The menu was very good and so was the service Thanks for a lovely time

excellent food, good service , friendly atmosphere. Staff were attentive but not in your face. we had the filet steak comes with frites and we had tomato, shallots and basil salad as a side it was fantastic. Tarte citron as a pud it was great.

Great food, service and atmosphere. Thought it a little expensive and they do add a high service charge on - even though there was only 3 of us. But it wouldn't stop me returning

Party of four visited on Saturday night. As always great food and wine, great atmosphere and friendly helpful staff. We visit this restaurant quite frequently now and will definitely be back soon.
