I arrived and was welcomed with a smile by the Danish waitress and the handsome Portuguese Maitre d’ who promptly served me and my friend a complimentary glass of Kier Royal. The set menu salads are worth copying and serving at my home dinner parties. For mains I had the Toulouse sausages and lentils. Delicious. My friend has the steak frites again. Rather unsurprising.
I took my German friend who had never been to a Cote restaurant. Though it was rather noisy because many Christmas parties were going on and we could hardly understand each other for the noise, we loved the food, the excellent service and the choices on the main menu with plenty of salads and healthy winter vegetables
Nice food and very friendly service. I would definitely return.
The standard of food was Excellent. The waiters were fantastic and very attentive.
Since I use this restaurant at least once a week for either breakfast or dinner I am pleased to say the welcoming Maitre d’ hotel tries to get my favourite table and usually presents me with a complimentary drink. I cannot wait for the February set menu now since I have eaten everything on the January menu. All of which has been delicious
My friend and I had great fun dining. The service at this place is amazing considering the restaurant is always full. The food is really well prepared.
It was just too packed with very large Christmas parties. My friend and I had to shout over dinner to make each other understood. Perhaps the management should not be so greedy and accept so many bookings at peak times. Or provide a quieter space for couples in the lovely upstairs dining area
Though I had booked there was no available table. The kind Portuguese Restaurant Manager did his utmost to get me a lovely table and gave me a free Kier Royal as I was waiting. The January Premier menu is delicious and good value
I was meeting up with a friend I hadn't see in some time after being made redundant... I asked not to be hurried, as we had a lot to catch up on with my friend... and the obliged... We had a good meal. But I booked through Quandoo despite being a loyal customer with Cote, and thinking I was going to be able to benefit from the 'lunch and early evening offer of 2 courses for £9.95 as my friend was on a budget... However at the restaurant I was told that 'Central London' restaurants were not participating in that deal... I can't help thinking that I should book through Cote website, or have some way of ensuring I qualify for offers, and the small print is clearer...!!
Good experience offering also gluten free menu for one of the guests which was an added bonus. Wide selection of dishes and at very reasonable prices.
Still very good service at this restaurant. Chose this place for treat my staff for my birthday and I wasn’t disappointed.. good variety of food to suit all pallets ... thr only small point was the 3 menus which was too much!
Went here on Monday (17th December) for our Girl's Christmas Lunch. Was, as always, absolutely fabulous!. The restaurant was totally full but this did not in any way interfere with the level of service - very friendly and helpful staff. The food was top notch and, with several different lunch menus to choose from, everyone got exactly what they wanted. We were there for about 3 hours but were not hurried in any way. Wonderful!
Excellent choice on the menu and great lunch deals. Good service and they even hurried up our mains when we asked them to so we could make our show.
Jolly nice place. Always a good atmosphere , did enjoy time spent , staff are very kind and pleasant , food great and I can’t fsult it
Good food, well presented and served by helpful staff. Consistently good in my experience. Can get a bit noisy but otherwise a pleasant dining experience
Booked for 19:00 but table not ready until 19:15. Service was then too slow as not enough staff and managers had to cover. Excellent goats cheese starter, but duck confit a bit bland, jus needed more flavour. Desert of creme brûlée good flavour but crispy topping cold. This was all from there Christmas menu which at 32.95 was good value, shame about the service. I have eaten here a number of times without problem. They just need more staff for December and to cope with pre theatre goers which caused the delays.
food was very good as always, however waiting times where long and order forgotten
Lovely friendly restaurant. Nice staff and excellent value food. Very warm and cosy. Clean toilets and not too busy. We will return very soon Loved it
The food was very good, as it always is. The service was friendly and attentive. I asked for a table in a quiet area and that worked out well too. Overall a very good experience.
Service great, venue very good. However starter of crab mayo was mainly cucumber, and not having the sourdough meant it was VERY lonely v little portion on the plate - not even a garnish. Steak tartar starter was tiny. Again no garnish. Sad to see this deterioration.
Service very fast and food good as ever. Nice menu touches each season and always something new to try. Can’t fault and big fan of here
Lovely place for breakfast, good value for money, will definitely return.
At the end of a busy Sunday lunch time so staff looked tired and weren’t overly enthusiastic- but that was forgotten when the food arrived- excellent as always
Amazing food amazing vibe great service, acoustics a bit load but amazing all together.. Xx
This was such a good evening. I had taken the chance of a Quandoo offer for this restaurant. We had a couple of Premium Meals and a free bottle of wine. The service was excellent and the waitress found us a quieter part of the often rather noisy restaurant. So my friend and I could have a good chat without having to shout at each other. He had the pork I had my favourite fish pie ('parmentier').
Great food - top-notch service - willingness to that extra step to ensure we had a great meal - good value - will certainly be returning
I like cote but foid a bit lukewarm..french soup..had to send mussels back..then creme brulee hardly hot and snappy on top and cold under etc so sent that back..maybe a monday meal???sweet waitress..poor love..hope she got the fat tip we had to leave
Highly enjoyable meal with good but not overdone service. Cosy rear dining room area meant we could actually have a conversation which made the occasion more enjoyable.
Had the set menu - was good value for money and the food was of good quality. Service was fine, but did bring the wrong bill initially.
Very good value for money. The food was delicious—we chose from the set lunch menu—and the staff were friendly and attentive without being intrusive. A favourite branch of Cote!
Superb service as always. Enjoyed the new November menu though still the same deserts which have now been on this set menu for at least two years. Why can this not be changed?
Cote never fails to deliver and such good value high class food . The pork croquet were lovely with a perfectly poached egg and followed it with the Hake beautifully cooked
Excellent food as always from Côte, service very good and staff extremely polite, the Formule is a great deal which I would definitely recommend. Good value for money!
Good, as usual, but extremely noisy. Very difficult to have a normal conversation. I had the mushroom crepes which were absolutely delicious. Listed as “light”, although I didn’t need dinner that night!
A friend and I had a very pleasant lunch, with good food and very friendly service, which I've come to expect from every lunch at Cote.
This restaurant is always good but they could make it even better by paying more attention to the way they serve food. By this I mean that they should provide better training for their waiting staff. Drinks delivered to the nearest side of the table to the server rather than to the rhs of the table setting. Food is always good here and the prices are too. The staff are very friendly without being over friendly - good experience.
As always very good service. Excellent choice of food/drink on menus catering for all tastes. Can be a little noisy when busy... This place will continue to be one of my favourites at lunch time.
Excellent food and service as always. The food is always well prepared and good value and the service is always attentive and friendly. Thank you
Dining alone can be a chore. Not here. I had two waitresses making me feel really welcome. The timing was excellent and they left me plenty of time between courses so I could read and relax. The prix fixe menu before 7pm is such great value. Changes monthly. Nice wine too and quite reasonable
The staff were friendly and helpful and the food was very nice (the only small niggle was that my new potatoes were a little under-done). We had to wait quite a long time after our main course for dessert menus and then to be brought our dessert. Overall we had a nice lunch - excellent menu (lots of delicious-sounding dishes to chose from), our food was lovely and had the service been a little quicker then the rating would have been nearer 6/6.
I had told the restaurant when I booked that it was my sisters birthday and as soon as we sat down they brought us a complimentary glass of pink fizz. What a nice touch. I have been here a few times before and they now have two set menus, one slightly more up market which we chose. As usual the food was very nice and service attentive.
We enjoyed a lovely 3 course meal from the set menu. The service was friendly and attentive and our waiter made sure we were out in time to get to the theatre.
Great food and friendly service. Enjoyed the special promotion deal. It does get quite noisy in the restaurant as it's a small-ish space and sound travels around too well!
We were in a hurry, as I only had an hour's lunch break, but we were served swiftly. Very pleasant staff, food great, as ever
As usual good service and jolly atmosphere I have been to most of the Cotes around central London and all have been super. Thank you Charlotte Street for a very good dinner and friendly service.
For a Friday night the restaurant was surprisingly empty. Ambience none existent. We had a starter, which was ok and I had rump of lamb and my husband Steak. Both meals a little disappointing. What annoyed us was the plate was removed before we ate the last mouthful. We were then presented with the bill with no offer of dessert or coffee and the waitress brought the card reader to take payment. We never asked for the bill, as we had not finished our wine. We frequent Cote restaurants frequently, wherever we are in the country, in the last couple of weeks, Liverpool and York. Disappointed,
The food at Côte is always very good. This meal for four was no exception. Friday lunchtimes are inevitably very busy. We waited longer than usual to order, and it took half an hour from our arrival time for the food to arrive. It a noisy place but such good value for money and very reliable.
Lovely food and theatre menu is well priced. Just a shame service wasn't a bit quicker as we ran out of time for dessert and literally ran to the theatre!
The service was friendly and efficient. The food was delicious and well prepared and pleasing to the eye. The complimentary drink was added to the bill but that was rectified with a smile once I had pointed it out.
Excellent service as usual, I couldn't recommend this restaurant any higher, the prices are good and the food is amazingly tasty, simple clean and elegant
