We’ve been dining at cotes for years and we’ve never had a bad meal there
This is my restaurant of choice when I meet old friends for lunch.
Attentive but not intrusive service. Good food at a good price.
Very good meal and really pleasant staff. I would recommend. Only downside is the rather cramped back area of the restaurant.
Very good service, delicious food. Cosy and not too crowded. We’ll be back!
This was our birthday meal since my husband and I share a birthday. Carmen the lovely maitre d' could not do enough for us and provided us with our birthday Kier Royal and a couple of deserts for free. What a treat. We enjoyed the first November set menu and we were given a wonderful table during a very busy Friday night. Congratulations Carmen on your forthcoming wedding. We hope the Company will give you a wonderful wedding present since you are so hard working and you have been at that Cote restaurant for a long time. You are a very loyal employe.
I was greeted like a long lost friend by at least three waiting staff and the lovely Portuguese maitre d' with the unpronouncable name. He knows my favourite drink, Kier Royal, which arrived without me asking for it. I had the last October set meal which was lovely and already look forward to the November set menu. The best thing about this Cote Restaurant is its staff who are so loyal to the company and always serve you with a smile. Long may that last!
We live in a Cote-free zone (South Somerset) but when possible, Cote is our favourite place to eat and never disappoints
Very nice meal and great complimentary cocktail... very friendly staff and accommodating... cote brasserie at Charlotte street is very nice ... had lunch and dinner at other cote and I have always a good experience
Great food and service at the Fitzrovia branch following a visit to the theatre
Fine. Good food. Took a little too long to get the check but not a big deal.
Good service, reasonably priced food and a good choice of tasty dishes.
Lovely evening with excellent service and good tasty food. House wine very good.
Food was very good, as it always is. Service was friendly, prompt and attentive. Noise levels were, fortunately, relatively low as none of the people near us were loud.
Amazing like always. Great atmosphere, delicious food and professional service.
Enjoyed the consistently good food which was perfect as a pre-theatre meal. No complaints.
The dishes were pretty good like every time but service could really be improved... The waiters took forever to take our order and to make us pay. They did not seem to notice us in the restaurant.
The food at Cote is consistently good and the menu options are great.
Another relaxing, tasty visit to Cote. Both the set and prestige menus offered excellent value and choice, and one takes the pleasant surroundings for granted (including proper napkins!), while other places often are far less accommodating and pleasant to visit.
Tasty food, good portions, reasonable price, excellent service. Tres bon.
We had a reunion lunch for 20 people in the Charlotte Street Cote Brasserie on 17 October,2019. Everyone enjoyed the occasion greatly and came away impressed by the overall high quality of the menus and standard of service offered. And the ambience/atmosphere of the private room we had was just right. We shall certainly aim to book the same venue for about a year ahead for the next such reunion!
Great service, good food (glutenfree options) and nice friendly table service.
A most enjoyable lunch with good food and wine and excellent care from the friendly and efficient staff. Thanks and well done!
Very friendly staff, good food and wine and reasonable prices.
Great meal with a friend I hadn't seen for ages. Excellent food, unobtrusive but attentive service, reasonable prices, good atmosphere. Thanks so much!
We are regulars at Côte in Newcastle and we’re delighted to find the standards as high as we were used to. Great food and great service!
Excellent meal pre theatre and very reasonable prices will definitely go again
Always good food and great atmosphere. The staff are delightful and attentive.
Was disappointing as the service was very slow . There must of been a problem with the kitchen . The manager was very accommodating to us . In all would we return I’m not sure as , we have been to Charlotte Street for several years and are finding a downward slide each year .
the restaurant was very noisy - loud guests, and the background music made it worse. Ordered from the autumn menu ; the dishes were very disappointing. The lobster bisque was like a very average fish soup; no lobster taste whatsoever. The cod was poorly cooked, completely overwhelmed by the mushrooms, virtually no the spinach. The staff were extremely helpful and did their best to compensate for the poor performance of the kitchen.
Was a quick lunch during working day. Still able to enjoyed the meal and good.
The set menu was not up to standard. The portions were small and salty . I gave it a go because last week in soho cotes I ordered from the ala carte menu and my rib eye steak was quite fatty. I feel that the food has become hit and miss of late. Sometimes it’s good and other times not so. The staff were attentive.
Upon entering the restaurant the lovely Portuguese Maitre d' followed by the effervescent understudy in the yellow dress rushed over to welcome me. I was given a lovely table for four in spite of the fact that there were only two of us dining. Some really cool music was playing. I had not noticed that before and the noise levels were not too bad this time, but then it was early evening. My friend and I had the pre theatre menu both the charcuterie platter which was ok but the meat was rather dry and the pate rather stringy. Butter would have helped. My friend had the steak frite (as she always has) she asked for it 'bloddy' but it arrived looking rather leathery. I had the beef en croute: delicious! I had asked the Romanian waiter and he had recommended this his favourite dish. He couldn't do enough for us. All in all a super evening.
Very nice meal in a friendly and relaxing environment. Service was prompt overall and food very tasty.
Very good experience Very good service and lovely atmosphere. I will be back with my friends soon.
Slow service. We asked for more water several times but both the waitresses forgot. We also asked to check how long the starter would take and the waitresses both forgot to come back and tell us. One of the starters came with our main course.
The food was good and also good value. Felt comfortable and not rushed to leave.’ Would recommend.
Our bolthole after visits to the British Museum. Usual wide choice on the menu, excellent value and service.
Very little to criticise here. It's good value for money - excellent choice on the set menu - terrific friendly service. One of our party was disappointed with her main course - a rather stodgy and over-garlicked butternut squash risotto, but we were all happy with everything else. Only issue for me is that the tables are too close together [in the front of the restaurant] and the noise level too high.
The staff were extremely friendly; we were given a private area for a group of 18, and the food was excellent. Absolutely super.
Good food although service was patchy and disjointed although individual servers were very pleasant.
Friendly and efficient service with good quality food. Would recommend.
We had a lovely dinner. The customer service was great and it was just the perfect place to eat and drink.
Food mixed up (despite pre menu for 11), some guests had nearly finished their main meals before others received theirs. Food was cold and clearing up took forever, we just had dirty plates in front of us until the next course arrived. We had many apologies from waiter. We had to ask for water and serve our own wine. Seemed somewhat disorganised. Also, food was not as good as usual, very disappointed. I asked for my steak to be medium, my plate was full of blood.
Everything was fine - food, service (helpfulness and waiting times), noise level, etc. Very pleased to be able to use our usual table at the end of the alcove.
Really lovely lunch - excellent service, lovely staff, who thoughtfully gave us a nicely tucked-away table, great food. Excellent Lillet Rose cocktails! I would have given it five stars without any hesitation whatsoever if we hadn't discovered when we got home that some of our leftovers were missing. Very disappointing.
We had a lovely meal from the prestige set menu. The service was excellent, the Kier Royal puts us into a good mood straight away. the free water is always warm and must have been standing for hours. But the waitress willingly brought us a cup full of ice cubes.
Very reliable chain for food, service and value. It’s a shame that all the restaurants I have been to have the same problem with noise levels. Impossible to hold a conversation and puts me off going.
I can’t recommend this restaurant highly enough. They coped wonderfully with our party of 20 yesterday, all choosing from four different menus and some choosing just a main and others a full three courses. We had booked an alternative venue last March and were let down with a week’s notice. Cote managed to give us a private area for our school reunion of ladies of a certain age and our waiter coped fabulously. If they’ll have us we will be back next year!
Excellent as always. Food great. Service really good. Recommend to a
