The food was good and the wine. The service was very disappointing- we had to ask for service at each of the meal. And one of our party’s starter came a lot later to the others and it was the same as others were having; again we had to prompt a waiter about this. We had told our waiter that we were going to the theatre for 7.30 so we needed a more speedy meal than wthe service

Great food and atmosphere, but the food took a while to arrive, even after we'd let them know we were in a hurry. Great place, but not if you're in a rush.

Great atmosphere and very helpful staff. Food was good value and excellent range of choice in the set 2 course menu. The mushroom risotto was delicious.

Tasty food, attentive service in general- although the desserts took quite a while to arrive- and we were in a hurry to catch the show! Good value overall.

Lana is a great loss as manager- she ran a cheerful, professional and united team. The new manager has very large boots to fill. The staff here are always friendly, anxious to please and upbeat- none more so than Sandra who is unfailingly warm, welcoming - nothing is too much trouble. We hope the loss of Lana will not lead to an increased turnover of staff.

Even though I am a regular customer at cote restaurants, this time the service was really poor. We had to beg for water, bread and butter. The kitchen run out of duck and fillet in a Friday night , what else to say and I ordered a medium rib eye but it was well done . Big disappointment!!

The food itself was really good as always but service pretty poor - we had to wait half an hour to get a desert menu and ask 3 times for it, another half an hour to get the bill, no water brought etc. Lovely food but service not up to the usual standard

I have loved Cote on Charlotte St. And bring many guests. However, this evening, my guest and I were neglected. 1. When I sat down: menu was not brought over, nor was water, and I was not offered a drink 2. It took ages to get the first course 3. Dishes were not cleared, second course was not brought 4. I had to get out of my seat and remind wait staff that we were here (outside) and ask them to serve. Very disappointed. Food was good as usual.

Good food but overcharged on wine. Slow service and person taking payment was obnoxious, on the verge of being rude. Am a regular patron of Cote and Charlotte Street is below par compared with other locations.

Made very welcome and shown to a table straight away. Very patient whilst I waited for my daughter -who was late! Excellent menu (different from my last visit to a Cote) so plenty of choice, and the quality was surprisingly high for the price.

We were recommended to eat at 'Cote Brasserie' due to its close proximity to the Dominion Theatre (5 minutes walk) and were not disappointed. Well prepared food in charming surroundings served by attentive staff, will definitely eat there again.

Good food and good value on the set menu. It was very busy for the pre 7.00 menu so service was a bit slow. Will go again.

The pre -theatre menu was good value with nice food offered, however, they had goats cheese offered for the vegetarian option. Why? I loathe goats cheese. There are plenty of other cheese available. The biggest complaint was the poor service and attitude of the waiter who was serving us. When I arrived (before my friend) he was pleasant and helpful. Unfortunately once my friend arrived we had to flag the waiter down to order. He completely ignored us when we wanted to pay (very strange) and we had to ask a different waiter to take our payment. We refused to pay the service charge and said that we had been unhappy with the service. He then gave us an additional discount which was nice but doesn't make up for the fact that he treated us slowly. To sum up, nice food shame about the service!

Went for a pre theatre meal. It was served very quickly. The the fix menu was a bit basic, but the food well cooked and tasty. An a la Carter menu was also available. Very good value for money. The staff were friendly and helpful.

Great service although towards the end we had to catch the eye of a waiter rather than the waiter ask if everything was ok. Food was excellent as always and wine list was great.

The food was amazing, and the staff kind- But for the price of the meal & tip, the service was dissapointing. I went for my 21st Birthday, and the staff didn't take our drinks orders, gave us a sharing starter but no side plates, took 20 minutes to clear our starters (and at least the same for desert), forgot our side orders, we had to ask for menus both occasions, told us we couldn't have cockstails, to name a few.

The table, atmosphere and service were excellent. The wine was great too but the main courses, from the set menu, could have been better. The starters were absolutely delicious though and we three will come again even though in Charlotte Street there are a lot of other good restaurants.

In a pleasant location slightly away from main road. Friendly, unhurried service, good support with a separate vegetarian menu. Food was lovely and hot. Very tasty.

My overseas friends loved our meal before the theatre. Delicious food, lovely ambiance, friendly and discreet service. Only gripe is lack of accessible toilets. Too many steep stairs. Staff offered to take us next door to the ones in Pizza Express. .. very kind but would be more helpful if website clarified this lack of facility. A bit late to discover it at the end of the meal.

I’ve eaten here on numerous occasions and the food is very good especially good value is the set meal. This has to be ordered before 7pm. For this reason it gets very busy around six pm. You must book otherwise you’ll get a pokey table in an airless loud area of the restaurant. I like the upstairs part of the restaurant which is much quieter. Unfortunately on this occasion it wasn’t open

Location was handy for theatre. Menu was varied. Mussels were excellent as a starter (good starter portion). Salmon and smoked haddock fish cake was a bit heavy on potato and the poached egg could have been softer....

I booked the table for 1245. Service at 1420 of main meal due to "technical difficulties" in the kitchen. I am a fan of Cote - having been there many times before . Staff were apologetic and gave me the price of the main courses but they knew I was entertaining a business contact who then insisted on paying for the meal. Very late for next business meeting back in the office. Help!

Arrived 30 mins early, and allowed me to wait at my table for my guest. Service was great, food excellent. Would have scored a 6 but they didn't approach and ask me if I wanted a drink in the 30 mins I was waiting for my guest.
