I have been in restaurants where items on the menu could not be provided due to popularity of the dish but I have never arrived for a restaurant booking to be turned away because the gas had run out and they could no longer cook food! Disappointing for the 7 of us and not quite expected from Cote Brasserie which has always been very good. Will not be put off going back but for this occasion I have to rate it as very poor.

This was our second visit at cote brasserie and the second time was as good as the first visit. Food was very good. We had the chicken. This restaurant is well worth a visit.

The food is delicious, the service impeccable and the atmosphere is perfect. There is a great variety of food on the menu and all well priced. The quality of the food puts Cote the best restaurant on the high street.

The staff, service and food were all excellent. However the bar seems to be positioned in an awkward place and the tables are quite small. With 2 highchairs and buggies it was a bit squashed.

Excellent service tonight and everybody enjoyed their meals. The table was ok but with 8 people it was tricky for the people at the to get out from the end. As the restaurant was far from full the tables could have been centralised to make an easier exit.

Arrivws to be told we couldn't have cooked breakfast because the gas was off. We ordered coffee anyway. The fire alarm then went off, for about 5 minutes. When the chap came to take our orders, we were told we could order cooked food as the gas was on again. So that was something. When the food arrived, I asked for another coffee and was told the coffee machine was broken. Ten minutes later, a 'complimentary coffee' was served to me - they'd got it working again. However, the seating along the windows is uncomfortable because the sun was burning through the (curtainless and shutterless windows). When the bill came it was for £51 + instead of £33 because they hadn't charged us at the forumla rate. Not an enjoyable experience.

Had a fabulous meal with very good service but! This is the second time I have booked u sing the loyalty programme, Rewards. Both times I have requested a particular table for lunch and both times now I have arrived to find that people having breakfast were occupying the table. We were given another table but 10 minutes later our table was clear and given to the next couple to walk in. I don't think Rewards means anything if I can't reserve a favourite table. Next time I'll take pot luck or go elsewhere.

Whitebait were greasy and not "crisp". Sea bream was unavailable. Breaded chicken was very oily. Hachis parmentier contained large bits of inedible gristle. Desserts OK.

The service was good and the food acceptable although I was expecting to claim a free bottle of wine which I was told I would have for booking within a month of my first reservation but was told two meals (of the six in my party) had to come from the a la carte menu. As we all preferred food from the other it seems a bit mean to make this condition especially as I was not informed of this before. It is not the loss of wine I feel upset about but this attitude. Not sure whether I or my five friends will return. There is a lot of competition in Canterbury.

Staff are excellent, perfect amount of attentiveness mixed with humour. Use this restaurant fairly regularly and the food is always good and well prepared. A buzzy atmosphere and even though part of a chain it doesn't feel like it.

Nice relaxed Sunday lunchtime meal with family. Attentive service without being pushy although the restaurant was fairly bustling with Bank Holiday diners and a good range of choices on the a la carte. We use this branch quite regularly and will continue to do so.

A great lunch in a great atmosphere. The restaurant was very busy but we were seated and served in a timely manner, not too fast or too slow. We had 2 completely different main courses which were served perfectly. Not easy when one was Lamb shank and the other was Haddock, which my wife said was perfect. A great new restaurant which will do very well in the future. We will be back.

Always reliable - tasty food, well cooked. nice drop of Merlot. Polite and efficient service. One of my favourite Canterbury restaurants. All it needs to make it perfect is a car Park! Sadly, not a hope!

We went for dinner pre-theatre. The food was good, as anticipated and the service was excellent- unhurried and efficient with just the right gap between courses. It's not always like that in other branches in Covent Gsrden!

It was our first visit to Cote Brasserie for an evening meal, having only been for breakfast/coffee previously. It was fantastic. The food was superb and the staff were very pleasant and extremely professional - opened the wine at the table which seems to be a thing of the past in most restaurants we have visited. We will certainly be back to try something different on their extensive menu. We had steak which was succulent but I did have difficulty choosing as the menu was so good. Compliments to the chef as the steak was cooked perfectly. The starter menu was also extensive and everything on it sounded good! I also enjoyed my peppermint tea at the end of the meal - not everyone wants coffee late in the evening and I do like a 'real' coffee which was enjoyed by the rest of our party. We all thoroughly enjoyed our evening and will definitely recommend to friends and family.

Cote in Canterbury is a great place to have a pre-theatre meal. Before 7pm you can have a three course meal for £12.95. Excellent value and no compromise on the delicious food. There is a nice relaxed atmosphere and the staff are welcoming, friendly and efficient. All good!
