Very welcoming, goats cheese salad could have more goats cheese and less lettuce leaves and wide dish rather than deep bowl as dressing all at the bottom.

Water was off which is no ones fault. The hostess however chatted in full view to a waitress for 5 minutes before coming to tell us. We had been waiting by then 10 minutes

Very good value tasty lunch and excellent service. The atmosphere is reminiscent of a French Brasserie without the need to travel as far! A la carte, specials and a set lunch which changes monthly offer a wide choice of options

The Quality of the food was not as good as we have had at other Cote establishments and the children's portions were too small. The service was very good.

The lunch menu offers the best value with a good choice of starters, main courses and desserts. The drinks are expensive, particularly the beers, and you need to remember that your bill is inflated by an 'optional' 12.5 % (which is really 15%, given that it placed on top of VAT). I had the squid rings, which were tasty, but very salty. My main course, the grilled chicken, was nicely cooked, but the accompanying saute potatoes were again too salty. My wife had the tuna rillettes followed by the hake, which were both well cooked and presented. Portion sizes are generous, and if you opt for a dessert (excellent) you will certainly know you have had a meal. Service is fast and friendly. Having been to Cote for about the last 10 years, we think it is generally very reliable. Unless you have deep pockets, it's best to stick to the tap water (freely provided) or make do with a single Kir, otherwise you can easily find yourself shelling out £30 per head.

Have been to this branch of Cote Brasserie several time and not been disappointed on any occasion. The decor is modern and comfortable and the staff are very welcoming and friendly. We had an early reservation as we were going to the theatre and the early evening menu is good value at £12.95 for 3 courses, with plenty of choice. As a Friend of the Marlowe, we received a complimentary Kir Royale, although the waiter had to check if we could swap one for a (much cheaper) soft drink for a teetotal friend. The food was delicious and servings were a perfect size. I had the Steak frites and it was perfectly cooked and the frites were hot and crisp. My only reason for giving a rating one less than perfect is that the waiter included our free drinks on the bill, although this was quickly rectified when pointed out. I would certainly visit this branch, as well as others in this chain, again. It is always a pleasure at a reasonable price.

Can never complain about service or food at Cote Brassiere- only disappointment was they had sold out of Picpaul wine which was not good, especially on Good Friday with the rest of the weekend to go.

Three of our party chose the haddock fillet main course, only to be told that this was not available. We were offered cod gougons instead which we accepted; however, when they were served, they appeared to have been frozen, rather hurriedly thawed, but were barely cooked, quite tasteless and wet inside. Also portion size was very modest - even having ordered a side. One of my guests commented that the green beans were hard and barely cooked. The piquant chicken dish was well cooked and the portion size was good. The langoustine starters were very nice. Three of use chose the peach crumble pudding. This was OK although unexceptional but when I reached the bottom of the dish I could see previous spoon marks in the brown deposit in the bottom of the dish revealing a paler colour underneath. The dish had obviously not been properly cleaned, but had simply been dishwashed and not scoured. Although safe through cooking, I found these traces of the previous users rather off-putting. Dark chocolate pudding was good. On the plus side, table service was excellent - 10/10 to our waitress. Although our lunch was acceptable it was by no means up to the previously excellent standard we have come to expect from Cote Brasserie. My guests, who have also used Cote Brasserie previously also commented on their disappointment with this particular meal. Music being played outside was loud and intrusive at first although this was corrected later. Come on guys - you can do better than this - I know you can.

Food was excellent. Service wasn't. My friends and myself had to rush our desert as we were going to Marlowe Theatre. I asked if we could order our desert and still had to wait. We paid the bill after asking the manager for bill. Wasn't happy with service. It was very slow. I have eaten here before and also several of the London branches and this was the worst for service

Very nice food and friendly staff. The only criticism we had was the pork belly was a little over cooked, but otherwise we were pleased with the food. Also delighted with the complimentary bottle of wine! We will certainly be returning.

My husband and I met two friends for lunch today. The menu was more than sufficient to make a choice and the food was cooked to perfection. I cannot eat gluten and the food I chose was adapted perfectly so that I could eat it. The service was also excellent. We will certainly eat there again.

So bad I will never go back. Main courses awful, Leathery fish skin laid over a tin of unseasoned beans mixed with raw chopped tomato. Risotto undercooked (but flavourful). This was a terrible meal in contrast to the one we had in Sloane Square. I won't go to cote again. Despite a virtually empty restaurant a couple was then sat uncomfortably close to us in the window and made a terrible atmosphere for eating it could t have been more awkward as they were hardly speaking and could hear every word of our conversation . I could not wait to leave. I felt nauseous for some time after and stil do when I think about it a day later. Music awful and too loud.

Very busy branch of Cote. It's in a university city with two universities so plenty of students. But also mums and dads. The food was first class. It was served hot and plentiful. Too much for me so I had to leave a large proportion. The wine was very good and I particularly recommend the the house Claret.

Arrived early, but asked to take a seat upstairs. Which turned out to be quiet and boring. But we were there to celebrate our sons graduation. You served a side dish with alcohol. Creamed spinach and it did not state the Pernod on menu. I have s heart condition and not allowed alcohol. Overall a disappointing visit

The food, atmosphere and cleanliness of everything were very good. It was disappointing that the service was so slow and the staff were not as friendly or attentive as we would have wished. In particular we had to wait what I considered to be far to long for our food orders to be taken and for the desert menus to be given to us.

Good food as usual but careless attention to detail as table not set by two different waiting staff. We had to ask for cutlery and never got any serviettes.
