We all had lobster as a main course. It was disappointing, obviously frozen, and I believe, Canadian. But it was a reasonable price, and nicely served. Tarte au citron and coffee followed, the tarte deliciously lemony, and the coffee strong and very hot.
An early pre-cinema meal. The service was excellent and both our meals delicious. The sword fish and ratatouille were very flavoursome, so in all our experience was great!
excellent food and service. Made a family reunion most enjoyable.
We had a great time. The food was great and the prices were reasonable.
Food was mostly good ,but afraid service was not very good tonight.waited along time for orders to be taken and a long time between courses. Also forgot some of our orders. And we had to ask again a number of times.Disappointed as special occasions two Birthdays and wedding anniversary.
Fabulous food & service friendly & efficient. Love the Bury St Edmunds Cote
Lovely food and superb waiter/waitress staff, altogether a truly nice experience 😊😊😊
Couldn’t say one fault. Staff were brilliant and made it a lovely birthday meal. Thanks
Great service pleasant staff and very good food I would recommend it!
Fantastic food only surpassed by the outstanding service provided by friendly and attentive staff
Last night, delicious seasonal lobster, followed be salmon cooked to perfection and served with tasty ratatouille. Both of us enjoyed the meal. Also drink of the month ! Gin, with elderflower liquor.

I brought my grand daughters who chose steak! They really enjoyed all their three courses, Cotes is for every generation.

We were a large and occasionally noisy group. One waitress, Blanca, served our table all evening. We pre-ordered so food was ready soon after we arrived and it was all very high quality, well cooked and tasty food. Blanca was on hand for anything we needed, and served us with a smile on her face. everything about the evening was great and i will go again (perhaps in a smaller group) and I would recommend the Bury St Eds restaurant to all friends and family.
I always find the food at the restaurant absolutely delicious and extremely reasonable for the price. There is a fine selection even with the two/three course price options. However, there is a lack of staff serving which makes the waiting times longer. If, as was the case yesterday, you are sitting outside in the very lovely garden patio then the service is even slower. We waited a long time for menus and water. We decided not to have bread and olives as we thought that this would delay things even more.
Excellent evening - good food and service. Intend to revisit in the future (probably sooner than later)
My wife and I enjoyed a delicious lunch yesterday at Cote in Bury St Edmunds. The only downside was the slow service - probably you were a bit short-staffed. We arrived before 13.00 but had to reduce the meal to two courses and hurry the waiter to bring the bill at 14.30, since we had a business appointment at that time and did not wish to be late.
Good food and excellent service, made for a great evening, even if they had sold out of lobsters.
As always, very good meal and excellent service. Substituted complimentary cocktail for bottle of Perrier!
Lovely steak frites for lunch. Helpful staff and delicious G&T.
Must be the 8th visit and Great service & Great food as usual guys!
Disappointed as had very tough steak, get a new butcher!
brilliant evening - great welcome as we arrived, great table, excellent & friendly service without being overwhelming, delicious food & good choice of drinks - we'll be back.
My friends and I had limited time as we were going to the cinema afterwards but the staff entirely understood and served our food very promptly without making the meal feel rushed. We all chose dishes from the prestige menu and while the food is not haute cuisine it is very tasty, well presented and excellent for the price point.
Fantastic relaxing evening. Great food, excellent service friendly helpful staff. Faultless dining experience. Many thanks Cote!!!!!
Once again excellent can not fault. Food good sevice good value for money good
From start to finish, this was lovely. Table booked with ease via the website, choice of table offered. The music was lovely, creating a nice chilled atmosphere which made you feel like you weren’t in Bury St Edmunds. We were definitely transported. Our waitress was fantastic too - neither pushy or inattentive. She recommended the Veal to my husband as in her words “it’s the best thing on the menu”. She wasn’t wrong and he scoffed the lot! I left some of my risotto and when having my plate collected, she looked confused. She asked if it was too much or if there was something wrong. It was delicious, but just a bit too much for me. I’d like to see a meaty risotto on the menu too if possible? Pudding was superb too. As I say, lovely from start to finish. What a lovely place to spend our anniversary
Another excellent meal. Great to be able to enjoy seasonal fare and always superb service whenever we go!
Very busy in the evening. Great food advising atmosphere. Need to book.
Always very good. Perfectly cooked and tasty food, well presented. Good service. Good value. Just one thing, don’t apply the 12 & 1/2% gratuity to the bill. That annoys me. I give a tip so it’s not really necessary
Service much too slow, had to ask for everything. Table next to ours served first even though we had ordered first. The only thing the waiter did without us asking for it was the water, felt totally neglected, doubtful we will return.
Excellent as usual my only criticism is that the Strawberry Pavlova was not big enough because it was delicious:-).
Very welcoming and efficient staff. Well cooked and presented food. Thoroughly enjoyable. Highly recommend.
Been coming here for a few years first time I have seen lobster on the menu it was best lobster i have had highly recommend cote everything is just right service atmosphere value and great food
First class meal and service.best place to eat in bury st edmunds
Lovely food - staff were fab and very helpful would def go back
Great food and service although a little disappointed that some items if the menu were not available despite it being only 5.30pm
Our is itv to the restaurant was spoiled by very slow service and below average food. It took 2and half hours to finish lunch! The staff apologised for the slow service saying that many people had arrived around the same time as we did - 12:30 to 1:00. We’ll, it WAS lunchtime! I had chicken and walnut salad which was drab and lifeless, with limp leaves. I wouldn’t want to have another! The cost of desserts was taken of food the bill ( we didn’t ask for any reductions) but that didn’t make up for a disappointing lunch with a friend. This was the 2nd disappointing lunch I have had here and sadly I have another booked with 3 other friends on 18th July. I am not going to risk yet another poor lunch so willing be cancelling that and choosing another venue. Disappointing, as I love the Cambridge branch of Cote. It’s a totally different experience!

As usual here everything was perfect... and the July special was fabulous... we both enjoyed it so much indeed.
Good value for money restaurant, friendly service as always & fresh cooked food!
Food was good but service was appalling. From the minute we walked in we felt we wasn’t welcome, we had to wait 5 minutes for high chairs so I was left holding the children. We weren’t offered a drink or complimentary water until our food order was taken. The waitresses were surly we got the feeling that neither of the waitresses wanted to serve us. We waited what seemed like an age for a desert menu while they were busy resetting tables there were only 2 other tables with guests on at the time. It was supposed to be a birthday treat for me from my husband and children but my husband has said he will think twice before we set foot in that place again.
Another great lunch at Cote. This restaurant is consistent and always good value
Excellent atmosphere, good food and service. We were made to feel welcome on arrival and throughout meal. It was an early evening meal, restaurant busy. New menu is excellent
Unfortunately food for me was not good but it was quickly remedied .
Always lovely to dine here. The staff are friendly, the food delicious.
Great food & service - just had to wait a little longer than we’d expected between ordering and receiving our courses
We wanted a late lunch so mussels fit the bill . The fry’s were crisp and mussels delicious. Love Cotes
It is my Birthday today and we had a really lovely experience in Bury St. Edmunds Cotes, food was great, atmosphere really lovely, the young waiter who served us was absolutely wonderful, made my evening very special, thank you x
Friendly staff including Alex. Delicious food and relaxing celebration of my birthday.
Food good but premier menu not changed a bit boring.
my family and I enjoyed an excellent meal and very good service. I shall certainly book again very soon
