always good value for money and the staff are friendly but not in a forced way & food always good not had a bad visit to date and I've been quite a few times!!

As always here..... good food and lovely people.. the secret to this place is the garden..on a lovely summers day, there Is no better place to wine and dine!!!!

Delicious meal, comfy seating, excellent service, what more could you want?

We are regular diners at Cote, but tonight our party of 7 (including 4 teenagers) had to wait 1 hr 40 mins for our main courses. The staff were apologetic, but it was a very slow meal. The food was very good, which was fortunate.

Sadly it fell short of our usual expectations. It was very slow service and the drink I always have had before is no longer available.

I had sent a feedback a week ago regarding the service at Cote and received a most helpful reply together with a generous gift voucher. I used that today (21/08) with a friend. The food as always was excellent - beautifully cooked and delicious. The service was better than last week although my friend arrived 10 minutes before my arrival and was not handed a lunch time menu or asked if she would like a drink whilst waiting for me. When I got to her we waited a further 10 minutes before I had to signal a waiter for some attention. We were grateful that the bread she had hoped to enjoy before I got there was added as a complementary dish because of the lack of attention. I also enquired if I could have a grilled tomato with my steak which was missed and when it arrived a few minutes after that course was served and had obviously been forgotten. What strikes me is that at busy periods, such as Wednesday lunchtime on market days, there are simply not enough to staff to cope with the number of diners. The team there are extremely courteous, polite, cheerful and most obliging and they work hard but the demands made upon them in busy periods certainly leaves many customers waiting and therefore irritated. This really should be addressed especially as the previous team were so much more capable of dealing with this problem and set a standard that the current one are finding hard to maintain. Cote is one of the best restaurants in the town and I will continue to give it my patronage but I have found the last couple of weeks to be less enjoyable than before.

A very pleasant lunch as usual. Pork fillet could have been warmer, although the plate was hot when food was delivered to the table. I had to eat quickly.

Food was amazing except one dish. The steak tasted like it was cooked with a piece of fish and gave it a very awkward flavor. Portions were a bit small but overall delicious

We visited your resturant las night and felt that the on-line menu was slightly different from the meal we received. We were expecting caramalised red onions, green salad and frites with our Chateubriand steak for two. However, we were charged extra for the green salad and the onions were no-where to be seen. Rather diasppointing on what was an expensive dish.

the mains were great but the melon and ham was a bit stringy

The only disappointment was the chocolate mousse - it needed some texture, otherwise the meal was super.

Meal was fine, cooking was up to standard. However, apart from the charming greeting at the door some staff possibly need more training as we had to ask for things like teaspoons and drinks that came as part of the meal. Still good value for money and will return.

i think at least one vegetable should be offered with the steak meal

The staff took good care of us with our gluten free and special dietary requirements. A good choice of dishes on the menu.

The air conditioning was quite high in the restaurant so it was actually quite cold and we had to keep our coats on! We were kept waiting a long time before anyone came to take our drinks order. The rest of the service was ok but I did think that it was over complicating things by having one waiter bringing the tray of food out from the kitchen, then they had to wait for another waiter to come and serve the plates from the tray to the table, on occasions the guests had to wait several minutes before they got their food.

A most reliable restaurant which delivers in terms of service, food quality, value and ambience. Highly recommended for casual dining

Lovely food and good service. We ate off the set menu and we weren't disappointed, the pork tenderloin was amazing along with the sides we had. The staff were all helpful and friendly. Would definitely recommend. 😀😀

Would have been superb if my main dish hadn't been forgotten thus making me eat when everyone in the party had finished. Nice chap offered me a basket of bread to snack on but didn't ask if I had a gluten intolerance etc. No compensation offered hence no tip from a table of 6. Shame as it would have been a good experience. Not rushing to go back.

Delighted to find that Sam was on duty. He always makes a meal at Cote so special by his exemplary service. If only all waiters realised the impact that their attitude has on customers!! Please commend Sam for his skills. The three of us were all pleased by the standard of the food too and enjoyed a very pleasant time together. Thank you .

A quick lunch for two - we chose the Set Menu. The restaurant was busy - as usual - but the service remained slick and friendly. Great value and very tasty food - the courgette fritters in particular were crispy and a delight. This restaurant in the town centre never fails to deliver!

Never a disappointment and made special by the aperitifs on offer.

Excellent, quality food and attentive service. A slight mix up with the starters but it was very quickly fixed. The only reason I didn’t give six stars was the bill - the gratuity is automatically added to the bill and I HATE that 😢. I worry that the tip doesn’t get as far as the waiting staff and the whole point of a GRATUITY is just that.... it is the customers discretion to leave a gratuity. I like to leave an appropriate tip that I can be confident is going to the wonderful, professional staff who made my meal so enjoyable.

Service very slow. Waitress seemed not to know about the menu options and kept offering things that were not on our choice of menu. i think she was new? When our food arrived it was good but it was too long before it came and a long wait between courses. Don't let your high standards slip!

We booked a meal with the family to celebrate our Golden Wedding Anniversary. Sam the waiter servicing our table, greeted us, and during the evening gave us his undivided attention to make the evening a great success. Thank you it completed our day wonderfully.
