Côte Bury St Edmunds

This was one of our best experiences over the years. The crab bisque were great, the haddock and duck mains were excellent and deserts greatly enjoyed. Bernadette

As always excellent food and the staff are so very good. Unfortunately there was an unusually long wait for air main courses, but a polite word with the staff resulted in us being provided with wine "on the house" and our superb main courses duly arrived. Overall we are impressed with the food, atmosphere and the staff. Have no fear, we shall be returning. Thank you.

Extremely good overall, however initially hard to get waiters attention and one waiter quite rude with snappy comment.

Food really good and service prompt. Waiter had difficulty taking the cork out of 2 bottles of wine ( poor technique according to the table next to us), wiped the top of the bottle with his fingers then left it on the table despite there being a ice bucket beside the table. We both ordered steaks one filet and the other rump and they were served with the wrong sauce. No problem we swapped them over. The air conditioning was turned on during the meal and being close to it we became very cold. Waiters all very friendly.

My wife and I have for some time enjoyed a meal at Cote and on this occasion we booked a table for four as we wanted to introduce my brother in law and his wife to the restaurant. We were not disappointed , the food was delicious, the Rose' wine was very nice and reasonably priced. Personally I would have liked to have a little extra sauce to pour on my Beef on Croute, but its only a minor comment. Will definitely be back.

We really enjoyed a birthday celebration with friends. The food was excellent as was the service. Their attentiveness was outstanding g and helped make our evening such fun.

We always enjoy take diner at Cote before moving on to the Abbeygate. It just so relaxing & good value.

Very reasonably priced menu, the food was tasty and well cooked, and the service was pleasant and professional.

The staff were absolutely fabulous, kind, warm and knowledgeable. Food was tasty and reasonably priced. Ambience very good.

Great food very tasty and well presented. Service very good. One tiny improvement would be to take the drinks order and bring drinks quicker.

I couldn't fault the restaurant or the food at all. Superb service from our waiter Adam who was very polite, courteous, quick and efficient helping to make it a wonderful evening.

the lovely young gentleman waiter is a credit to the restaurant. smart, friendly, helpful, a lovely caring personality, made our visit for my mums birthday even better for his care and attention, and birthday wishes

We were disappointed with the service, as we waited at our table for 15 minutes for anyone to ask us for drinks, let alone food. Our drinks then took a further 20 minutes to appear, without the olives and bread we had ordered. Then our main course arrived almost an hour from entering, followed by the olives & bread - which should have appeared with our Kir Royales to start. To be fair an immediate explanation was given by the manager of over booking and shortage of staff, and our Kir Royales and starter nibbles were removed from the bill. However, as 2 of our party had driven in atrocious weather for 4 hours, and were tired and hungry, it was poor comfort.

Usual lovely tasting food. Restaurant was full and busy and they were short staffed. Had to wait a bit longer for service/food. But food was good and staff calm and polite.

We had breakfast. Good food and service. Huge (in a good way) children’s scrambled eggs. Would love earlier opening hours in weekends: children are awake by 7 and we’re all hungry. Also, the coffee servings were small except the cafetiere.

Great meal. The service was excellent. I would like to especially mention Adam our waiter. Very competent and professional. Good value and the voucher was much appreciated. Come here several times a week.

Still the best staff in Bury. Nothing is to uch trouble. Like going into an old friends home. Not sure about the food, we often have a problem.

Tasty food, served with a smile! Good quality ingredients, this restaurant never fails to please. It was very busy (market day) when we visited but the service remained very good despite the restaurant being almost full. In addition to the reliable food, the staff are all very pleasant. It’s a great place to spend a while catching up with friends over a few plates of flavoursome food. Congratulations to all who work there!

After a busy daytime service it seems that the restaurant was running out of steam by our visit at 7.45pm. Service was slow, due to shift changes, staff were stretched resulting in an average experience that has been so much better on previous Cote visits.

Pre theatre visit. Great service which was prompt given we had limited time. We will be back !
