Côte Bury St Edmunds

We had a lovely meal at Cote, Bury St Edmunds on the last day of Eat out to Help Out. We both had the sirloin steaks which were truly excellent. The service was as charming as ever and perhaps we waited longer than usual but the restaurant was very busy and we were in no rush. We will be back soon!

Another wonderful evening . Surprised the lamb, the lobster, the fillet steak and the desert wines were not available but the food is so good in this restaurant that it made little difference which dishes you ate. Service was excellent, food the usual high standard, difficult to fault anything. I love the fact that this restaurant's standards are consistently high making it an easy choice for dining out.

The toast was a little cold with the crab starter and the chicken a little dry

On arrival told “Sorry we’re sold out of fillet steak”. Fair enough but when kids tried to order minute steaks as part of the kids meal deal we were told they were also off the menu. Got kids to chose something different and also tried to order two Orangina’s for them to again be told sorry we don’t have any. Disappointing. As no fillet steak I ordered a ribeye and bearnaise sauce. It came out on a cold plate and the steak was also cold. Rest of the family enjoyed their meals but mine was naff being served cold food. Puddings and cheese board to finish the meal all great.

Food was great as usual, also service good, but did not like the way they added the 12.5% to the bill before discounting. Therefore I asked for gratuity to be removed, no reflection on the service, which was great as usual.

Booked for dinner and it was a faultless evening. Service, quality of food, the wine list-everything together exceeded expectations. The fillet steak coupled with the peppercorn sauce was particularly good and even the risotto vert which seems to be a default vegetarian main course was excellent. The wine list has great wines as well as ordinary wines. We tried the Gevrey Chambertin and the temperature was just right and the restaurant even has a good Armagnac on the drinks list. Wonderful evening and leaves us wondering why Bury St Edmunds has more than its fair share of first class restaurants. Special thanks to our waitress who was very engaging and great fun.

Superb breakfasts. I had the vegetarian and my wife ordered the French breakfast. Lovely flavours, freshly prepared, great selection of items and very filling. Good value for money and combined with friendly, professional service Cote certainly deserves top marks.The coffee was also excellent and it would be difficult to eat anywhere else now.

Pleased to find I could reserve a table on-line less than an hour beforehand. And nice to try the new lunch menu.

Nice welcome ; speedy service on coffee and taking order for breakfast but then wrong one delivered to table, however this was rectified pretty quickly and we received two coffees complimentary by way of an apology, so all good

staff were very friendly the food was as ever delicious. we arrived rather wet as it had been raining heavily and a member of staff kindly gave us one of the umbrella that had been left there for ages to save us getting soaked as we left. (he also wiped down the handle before giving it to me which i felt particularly thoughtful)

I ordered Ribeye steak medium rare. Half of the steak was medium rare but the other half was rare and I mean rare very rare. Which is why I could not eat it. This is the first time we have been to Cote since last January. I don't think we will return sadly.

Delicious food and great service, we went for Saturday brunch.

We thought the menu was quite limited as was the post 2pm menu that we looked at. we were SO hoping for the French Onion Soup but it was not on either menu and it is one of your BEST starters please bring it back the staff were wonderful, the standards high, just not enough choice and please bring back the soup!

We are never disappointed when we come here. The waiter was very friendly and polite and the food was brought to us very quickly, we were only waiting 5-10 minutes. And it is such good value, delicious food at an affordable price in a restaurant with a lovely atmosphere. My only complaint would be the decaf coffee was a bit grainy (maybe a faulty cafetiere?) But a minor thing on an overall great evening

was good, but not as good as normal as it was extremely busy and service was a slower than normal. It took ages after we arrived for anyone to ask if we wanted drinks. Also, my steak was quite grisly. However I go there quite a lot and will continue to do so

Welcoming and relaxing as always, making a meal at Cotes a thoroughly enjoyable experience. So lovely to be able to eat out there again.

From the Covid aspect, we felt safe. The food was good as usual. The white wine which we requested was not available unless we wanted it unchilled. It had not been put in a fridge.

As usual, everything was perfect. The staff were courteous, friendly and attentive and the food was excellent. As 3 of us visited Cote on a "government initiative " day the value for money was extremely good!!

This was our first time to eat at Cotes, it was a special occasion and we loved it. The staff are excellent and very well trained. The food was really good and we had a great night. Would definitely return.

This is our favourite Resturant in Bury St Edmunds because the food is excellent throughout and the staff are lovely.

We went with our two children aged 14 and 11 This was the first time they had ever been to cote. We all had a great experience, the staff were very good with the kids, a little bit of banter from the waiter with my daughter about how she couldn’t say praline crepes properly, all taken in good jest!! The food was also excellent, my son said that the garlic bread was the best he’d ever had! We’ll definitely be bringing the the kids back to cote.

Super town centre restaurant ideal for brief light lunch while shopping or full a la carte dining experience. Excellent menu catering for all tastes. Lovely, friendly, efficient staff - prompt service without feeling at all rushed. Beats the nearby competitors hands down. Looking forward to next visit.

Back to normal it was great to see the staff again looking forward to the next visit we’ll done Côte but will still have our home meals as well 🤗👍

Wow, I forget the last time we saw so many people in one place and then we saw the £20 off. Everything else was as we remembered it, really good.

The best steak and the best service I've had in a very long time. Thoroughly enjoyable with lovely ambience.

Delightful as always, never fails to impress. Although the place in Bury St Edmunds was, understandably, extremely busy, the service was quick and professional. Managed to fit a starter and main course with a bottle of descent house white in less than an hour, perfect for a quick business lunch! Thanks very much indeed and see you again before long!

A wonderful experience. As usual staff were second to none, and service speedy and accurate. The food was on point. Could not fault anything. Can’t wait to go back.

Our party of four adults and one child had an excellent lunch, the dishes were spot on, delicious ad and just as we expected from Cote. Our waiter was very attentive and each course arrived in good time, nice and hot and good sized portions. The necessary COVID restrictions did not impose on our enjoyment of the occasion. Today’s experience reaffirmed our appreciation of the cuisine and service at Cote since the temporary shutdown. Thanks.

Really good meal - well cooked and well presented. Waiting staff very efficient for the most part, but failed to notice us several times during the lunch.

It was great being able to eat and drink again at Cote. Our visit to Bury St Edmunds yesterday felt as though things were starting to get back to some sort of normal. The restaurant was as nice as ever.
