Very friendly staff, good quality food, reasonable priced food, it was my mums birthday and they went out of their way to make it special
My friends and I were welcomed on arrival and shown to our table. Orders were taken promptly and our starters were served quite quickly. We all agreed that our starters were very nice. We were all very pleased with our main meals. Our desserts did not all arrive together and one of my friends had to wait quite a while for hers. She was compensated with a free pot of tea but her dessert was cold and had to be replaced. This was a great shame as overall we had really enjoyed our meal and plan to eat at Cotes again in the future.
Overall the food and service were very good. Four of us chose items from the set lunch/early dinner menu. The quality and presentation of the food were very good and the portions were generous. The only downside was the poor value of the side dishes - a few French beans and carrots did not justify the price, but as there were no vegetables included in most of the main dishes, a side dish was not optional. On a positive note - good choice of wines and good coffee.
Excellent experience here today. We had booked for 1.30pm but when we realised we would be early there was no problem with us eating an hour earlier. The staff were very helpful and professional, the service was good but not intrusive and the food was delicious. We enjoyed our lunch very much and both had 3 courses from the full menu. We will certainly go again. Thank you for a memorable meal.
A lovely setting, a bright airy room, not overcrowded. A great choice of food catering for both vegi and gluten free. A lovely experience for all.
As ever we were well looked after. Food is great value and well presented. Only downside is the noise but that's a common problem these days!
Consistently good - we are never disappointed with this lovely restaurant! There is something for everyone, it's always beautifully cooked and presented, and the staff great. Atmosphere just right. It's a winner.
Excellent food together with friendly staff providing a most pleasant dining experience. Well done Cotes of Clifton for looking after my wife and I during a recent visit for a Sunday morning breakfast.
Nice restaurant, food was good but eaten similar quality foods at more competitive pricing. Service charge also needs to be removed, even though it is discretionary it should not be an automatically added feature.
Lovely food, smiley staff although food took a bit of time to arrive. However very good value, especially the wine. Would recommend and go again if in the area.
Lovely as always - but the chicken and walnut salad was served in a deep bowl which made eating it ungainly and quite difficult. Profiteroles filled with iced cream were a delight.
Lovely meal; complimentary glass of Kir Royale on arrival then a starter of smoked salmon, followed by a delicious tuna steak with ratatouille and a side order of green beans. As always the service was excellent
Lovely ambience, great service, delicious food - Will certainly be visiting cote again. Always seems to come up to expectations. Thank you to all concerned
The set menu was excellent value and the food was great. Staff were efficient and extremely polite and made the evening very enjoyable. Would recommend the restaurant and will be back.
By far my favourite restaurant. The staff are always friendly and the food is excellent. The place always has a great atmosphere due to it being full the majority of the time.
Friendly waiter hustled to get the last portion of onion soup for us! Will go to this restaurant again as we like the food and the service.
Very friendly staff who sent out of their way to make you feel welcome. Lovely restaurant and the Breton chicken was superb. Excellent. Would definitely go back. Many thanks
Our lunch today was excellent....the Waiter was very polite and friendly and the food was delicious. The service was efficient and professional...I definitely recommend this restaurant.
Service was good and most of the food but the calamari was greasy and very salty and the fish pie almost inedible and congealed. Would go again but would avoid any fish dish
The service was excellent and we didn't wait long for the food which was served hot and very tasty. The restauarant wss busy with a lovely atmosphere.
I had the roast duck last night which was delicious and then the creme caramel which is my favourite. As usual the service was great.
Very noisy, didnt enjoy the atmosphere at all! have not been for a while and prob won't be going again in the near future ! we used to be regulars ! my meal was not so good either 😒
Service was great, quick and friendly. The food was ok, we had steak frites but the chips were very over cooked which ruined the meal somewhat. Starter and drinks were nice though.
This is a sizeable restaurant spread over 4 areas, so can hold a number of clients. We have been here before both in the evening and lunchtime. I cannot fault the greeting from staff or the service. The food was delicious and nicely presented without being fussy. The only thing stopping me giving a 6 was the horrendous noise in the restaurant on this occasion. It is not the fault of the staff, but down to an inconsiderate large party. However, they were out for a celebration and were oblivious to other diners. Maybe they could have been contained in a remote area rather than the middle of the restaurant. It killed conversation for my husband and I who were having a rare night out together without friends or children. The staff were at great pains to apologise to us for the noise. It won't stop us from returning but I would ask if a large party is booked in before I confirmed.
Good ambience food very good as was service seeing it was very busy, will definitely return at some point. Only thing to note 12.5 % optional gratuity at bottom of the bill that’s added to final cost.
Service and food great - friendly and efficient - as always. It was a little cold in the restaurant when we arrived but the heating was turned when we mentioned this.
Very good service really went out of their way. My favourite dish Fish Parmentier was not as good as usual. Pretty dried up but the prawns gratinee very good as were my guests chicken.
We love Cotes, we always have great good, great service and great atmosphere. When it's guaranteed why go anywhere else! Thoroughly enjoyed our evening as always
As always this visit was first class. The welcome is always very gracious and the service superb. The food, whatever we choose, always meets with our taste buds desires. As we have said on many occasions, is there anywhere better ? No there is not! Book now.
Really fast service, dry courteous and most important the food was hot hot - loved our visit of 4 people where we had to talk family business - thanks Cote!
Another very nice evening at Cote. It is always a good standard and we go there a lot as like to go for the early bird. The portion sizes are enough for us
We like Cote Clifton for lunch or dinner as the standards are always consistent. Excellent food, good atmosphere and friendly attentive staff. We shall certainly come again.
Lovely food freshly cooked. Catered well for adults and children. Great range of food and early bird menu is great value. Good value for money
We visited Cote Brasserie for my daughters birthday and everything was superb as usual. We started with calamari and prawn gratine, which were delicious. For our main courses we had the Breton fish stew, roast pork belly, seabass and fish Parmentier. All dishes were excellent and the service was top!
Service was slow waited 10 mins at table to be asked if we wanted a drink - never asked if we wanted more wine etc - always been good there before. Food ok but spud side dish not really hot same with veg under pork (pork excellent).
Amazing food, friendly and prompt service, reasonable price. Had to be rolled out of the restaurant as was so fat afterwards. Well worth it! Shall be going again soon.
What a fantastic meal we had in cote on Saturday, we will definitely be going back again. The food was amazing, the atmosphere was buzzing the service was very prompt and on the ball, we turned up early and they found a table for us straight away . It was a bit noisy but it’s a Saturday night so what do you expect . Can’t wait to go again.
The service was mediocre. It was extremely busy so the service was erratic. Unfortunately it was a Valentines meal with only a valentines menu. Which was fine until it offered only three options for a starter and one of these (the mussels) had run out! I won't be rushing back to the Cote unfortunately
The meal as usual was excellent but a very large party at a nearby table was so noisy it was difficult to carry on a conversation with those on our own table. This spoilt the evening for us and I suspect a lot of other diners
Went for valentines from Cardiff, staff were excellent, very attentive, a great evening! Food good and there wasn’t a long wait and not pricey, would go again.
We ate at 5pm on a Tuesday. Disappointed that a number of items we really wanted on the menu were not available. Service was relatively slow and this meant some vegetables were not as hot as would have liked. However, otherwise the experience was the Côte standard we have come to expect in a super location.I would also add the Côte wide ‘Voluntary’ 12.5% charge is above the industry norm.
Lovely evening, it was a shame they couldn’t adapt the monkfish option to meatfree as veggie/fish options were limited on the main meal menu but the sea bass was a reasonable alternative. Crème brule was lovely to share after and plenty large enough!
Great food as always, lovely service, food served quickly and all at a reasonable price. Only critique is that I have to enter a minimum of 25 words for this review when the summary above did it justice.
We’ve been here a few times and it’s good to say the food is still great the staff is also great, welcoming, warm environment. We will be back.
Had a lovely birthday lunch here today. We were looked after very well and enjoyed a complimentary Kir Royale on arrival. Very good food and excellent value for money.
Really good food and staff were very attentive. Would certainly recommend for early bird menu between 12 - 7pm, 2 courses for £11.50. . .
Good meal, ambience excellent, staff friendly, good value, have visited cote' restaurants many times and have never beeen disappointed. Will be there again in the not to distant future.
Visited Cote in Clifton BRISTOL this week and although the staff weren’t the regulars we’ve come to know, they were just as accommodating. Helpful and polite and we really enjoyed the meal and our pre Valentines meal.
Super! We shall be going again as the menu is good particularly at present. Staff always recognise us now and make us very welcome. Thanks!
Great service, great food and very welcoming and friendly staff made it a great evening all round. Early evening menu is great value for money.
