Great Breakfast seemed to be a bit understaffed today so initially service was a little slow, however once order was taken drinks then food swiftly arrived Well done

Had a nice evening as usual at our favourite restaurant. The waiters were extra busy as it appeared to be short staffed, and we had to wait longer than usual before we gave our order in, but our meal came quite quickly afterwards.

It was our first time we couldn’t have what we wanted on the lunch time set menu, as they had run out of that choice. So a bit disappointed, however we did enjoy what we had instead.

Food was excellen. Had king prawns followed by monkfish and service very attentive Gin and tonic was a nice touch on arrival Tables for two are a little tucked at side we where near the stairs for the toilets

Food excellent as always but a distinct reticence to offer the lower priced set menu. I particularly wanted the salad starter and cod main, neither of which was on the Prestige set menu, which was the only one presented. I queried this and the waiter seemed to say that the lower priced menu had finished. We’d booked for 6.45 to ensure that we could access this menu. Eventually a new set menu was retrieved with Prestige on one side and the lower priced one on the other. A rather odd start to the evening. Thoroughly enjoyed the meal.

Very good for our regular pre-theatre visits. Food and service hits all the right buttons.

The Rhubarb cocktail was amazeballs and the food was delish first time for me not find of chains but would recommend.

Enjoyable experience. Unfortunately every time you go some dishes have run out, however always able to find an alternative. Free birthday kir royale was added to bill and we had to wait for manager to come down and take it off!

A great place fo for a quiet meal with family and friends. Attentive staff who were happy to indulge and talk to my young daughter. Had a query on the starter, which was rectified quickky without fuss.

I was welcomed and given top class attention .mya was outstanding and professional , the young man who waited was very professional and I was incredibly impressed by the way he walked myself and my guest to the taxi at the end of the evening . The food was the best it has ever been , my steak was perfection and my guest enjoyed her salmon and starter . It makes a massive difference having a floor manager aware and vigilant of the restaurant room . Please congratulate the bishops Stortford team .

Excellent food with great service. My wife and I had a delicious main course and a bottle of wine. Very nice on a Tuesday evening and excellent value for money.

Welcome good, initially service was good, but had to ask for coffee and dessert. However, we enjoyed the lunch which was a birthday celebration and would be happy to visit again in the future. Staff very friendly.

No we will never come here again.. left and went next door to bills! Booked table in advance but told when we arrived they had made a table for us two uneven small tables pushed together under the stairs. Staff were rude. Seemed someonhow our fault

Fantastic and great service ! went for mother’s day meal and the food did not disappoint. Would recommend for amazing food and service. Restaurant was perfect for kids aswell.

Despite a slight problem with a mushroom allergy the staff coped very well. Teresa in particular was exceptional. A very pleasant evening. We really enjoyed our outing.

Because of a big party it took 2 hours to feed 3 adults and two children with two course meals. The Manageress apologised and credited bottle of wine.

Very slow service, waited nearly an hour for food to arrive. Eggs were over cooked.

The restaurant was very quiet when we arrived, it was late afternoon /early evening so very few diners in. We were in no great rush as we had an event to go to nearby and we had arrived a little early also. We were seated quickly and given a choice of seating areas. We were attended too quite quickly soon afterwards with a request for drink and the waiter was patient enough to wait whilst I dithered over the food choices. Food arrived about 15 minutes after ordering which is very acceptable, not too slow and not too quickly either(which would have caused me more concern). The food itself was very hot, well presented, tasty and filling, good value for money too. Desserts were offered and ordered an like the mains were appetizing, delicious, vfm and served at the right pace. We settled our bill, said our thanks and left. Overall a very enjoyable experience as a first time user to this chain and one which would encourage me to go again should I need to eat out and find myself near a branch

I had booked early menu for three , nice welcome , we were celebrating a fiftieth , ordered champagne , which was warm Not chilled , waiter spilt champagne on Opening which we all ignored but were not impressed by . Food came in time and was good , we were not attended to through our meal , and as weak times had to get up To get more drinks . All ok not as good as it had been in past , feel lack of managerial presence seems to be reason for poorer customer experience . The kitchen waiter dejuvwfinv the food orders seems to have more floor control than head waiter ? Not sure what is going on

Have been to Côte in other locations before, but first time in Stortford. Long waiting time. They forgot to bring my main meal, and they were really awkward about it. Made me feel a bit uncomfortable. Probably won't be returning to this one.

This is the second time we have dined here and again were not at all disappointed. From the minute we walked in the staff were really friendly and efficient. As it was my friend’s birthday we were given a glass of bubbly each which was delicious as was the food. The ambience is just lovely and noise levels low so a perfect venue for a nice relaxing meal. We feel it’s the best restaurant in Bishop’s Stortford. Will definitely be returning!

I have to say every time we have gone to Cote in Bishops Stortford we have a great time the food is excellent value we took our friends this time and they said they will definitely come again because the value for money was outstanding. I also have to mention your Manager Marlene she always greets us with a warm welcome makeing us welcome fantastic service thank you Marlene and your team

Normally this is our favourite restaurant. We haven’t been for a while and all the staff had changed again and not for the good. It was a very busy evening but the wait for our starters was far too long, we were compensated with free drinks though. Our main course was also a long wait and to top it all my husbands dessert was cold after another long wait (and the restaurant was a lot quieter by then). In the past we have found the service to be really good and friendly, this time service was very disappointing with a somewhat grumpy waiter. We like the layout of this restaurant with all its quirky corners which is why we return (and the food which is normally good) but the service in Bluewater and London (off Oxford St) is far superior in speed of service and friendliness.

Always good quality food and a nice atmosphere for a very reasonable price. Service polite if a little bit slow on this particular evening when awaiting main course, hence only 5 out of 6. But overall very good value.

Table for 6 on Mother’s Day. Two of our party are in the 80s. Requested a booth and did get a very nice table but it was up approx 6 steps and right beside the door to the outside space. I had to get up from my seat 3 times to close the door as it was very cold and guests and staff didn’t always close it behind them. We did ask about moving but it was very busy. By the time our food arrived we had settled in and very few people went outside so we stayed where we were. Took a long time to get service but did have a lovely waitress who confirmed our order back so we didn’t anticipate problems. However one starter was wrong and by the time the correct one came the rest of the party had almost finished. Then half of the mains came out followed by a large gap where we had to chase up the rest. We had to get the people who had food to start and not wait or it would have been cold. The sides did get cold and had to be replaced. Finally more of the mains turned up apart from one. Apparently the order for the last main didn’t make it to the kitchen! Thankfully it was mine so I just ate quickly when it did finally arrive. We decided not to chance having dessert as we had been in the restaurant for 2 hours at this point. We received many apologies and money off the bill but it didn’t quite make up for a ruined Mother’s Day special dinner.

The staff were very welcoming and met all our requests. My wife has a very good fillet steak with French fries and I enjoyed roast sea bass followed by apple tart. The quality and quantity was very good. Overall a very good experience and we look forward to further visits

Have visited several time’s but not been for quite a while.Our adult son chose Côte in Bishops Stortford for his Birthday family meal. Booking online was so easy and when we arrived to find it fairly busy(which was surprising for a Monday evening),we were glad we had booked. Can not fault any part of the evening,it was so lovely.Charming staff(waitress and manager,both very personable)and the food was delicious and excellent quality. The 5 of us had starters and mains,from the set menu,à la carte and the March specials plus sides,and all plates and dishes went back empty! We were too full for puddings but as I had written on the booking form that it was our sons birthday,the lovely waitress brought out a chocolate mousse with a message on the plate and a lit candle so we could sing ‘Happy Birthday’.A really thoughtful touch which was ‘on the house’. So thank you Bishops Stortford Côte so much for a truly wonderful evening and we shall be returning very soon and definitely coming more regularly again.

Service excellent as usual, waiting staff are just charming. Food very good, never had a bad meal in Cote! Altogether a very pleasant Sunday afternoon.
