The food was great as usual. A busy Saturday evening. There seemed to be plenty of staff, some new, but we had to wait a long time for our order to be taken. Twenty minutes to wait for our water to arrive!! Very unusual.

After a mixed experience on New Year's Eve when the restaurant was substantially under-staffed and food not better than average,, we were relieved to return to normality for early pre-theatre dinner on 10th January. Back to normal, we enjoyed our dinner with good and cheerful service. It is telling that we were not sent a review to complete following our dinner on New Year's Year suggesting, perhaps, that Cotes was not expecting glowing reports. We and our guests were disappointed.

New Years Eve, booked a table for two weeks in advance for 21:00, got there 20:50 and stood up waiting with about 10 others for our reserved table for 20 mins, no offer of a drink or an excuse for the standing wait. Eventually got an unprepared table and waited a further 35 mins without even a glass of water!!!!! Without going into further details because there is lots lots more to say (basically the disaster continued), we spent the New Year in CÔTE as the dessert was still not served until after midnight... what was supposed to be a loverly (premium) New Years Eve dining experience and then on to a social event to meet up with friends to break the New Year, turned into a FOUR hour nightmare!!! Worse part, not even a single apology or explanation for this appalling service... We eventually made our escape at 00:45 1st Jan 2019 CÔTE = dreadful dreadful dreadful

Service was very slow to start,food quality was ok prices reasonable.The manager gave us a free bottle of wine to apologise for slow service which was very nice but not what we really wanted as we had already had a bottle.We were not looking for any compensation.Regardless of the slow initial sevice,which i am sure was not normal all four of us said we would go again.

Bad day at the office on Saturday... very slow breakfast service, 50 mins from arrival to plate on the table.... and we were 2nd arrivals! Appreciate there are a lot of new staff, but they need to up performance, back to previous standards.

Overall service friendly and attentive. Unfortunately one of the fish dishes slightly over cooked, however this was one of our guests so did not know until after meal.

Very friendly service. Well presented restaurant with good standards of presentation and cleanliness. A good, reasonably priced menu, and good quality food. Will return again.

Service was not good, staff didn’t know the menu and food wasn’t great for the money. Coffee got served before my desert had even been served.

Had a very present lunch with my two youngest daughters

We thoroughly enjoyed our breakfast which was a treat for our five grandchildren and a friend, the menu was just what was needed and good options too. We are looking forward to another get together when they are all home, but I think we will repeat just the two of us quite soon.

Another great visit to this lovely restaurant where the food is excellent and the staff are top notch, this is one of our favourite places to eat.

A very pleasant pre Christmas breakfast, the food as usual being very good. The waiting times were rather longer than usual however although the floor staff were constantly on the move. Happy Christmas Cote

I have visited several Cote Restaurants across the country and consider the one in Bishop’s Stortford to be the best, the waiters always give you a warm welcome and try to find you a table of your choice. The choice of food is excellent and has a lovely selection of flavours at a good price.

Delicious food in an attractive setting, I visit Cote in Bishop’s Stortford regularly because it can always be relied on to provide an enjoyable dining experience at remarkable value

Very nice breakfast helpful staff and good Gluten free choice. Only thing that we were not happy about was service charge added to bill when only 4 of us. Had it removed and paid amount we all decided on.

As always lovely food & excellent service. The restaurant was very busy as so near Christmas diners but the staff were as helpful as if it was a quite day. So well done keep doing what you all do so well. Merry Christmas

Food very good staff friendly and efficient. Lovely atmosphere. Set menus good value and choice varied. Creme caramel delicious. Will definitely be visiting again soon.

Cote Brasserie Bishops Stortford is a regular dining choice and I have lost count of the number of visits. The food is always well prepared, well presented and good to eat. Service is attentive without being overbearing. This visit was as good as ever.

Very nice and relaxed atmosphere with great service and friendly staff... Food is delicious and varied. The portions are just right for me, my wife and kids. Not terribly cheap, however if you want a mid week special, it’s not too expensive either...

Amazing location with a very nice courtyard. Everything was smooth, although onion soup had less cheese than usual, they have run out of some ingredients for hot cider (got substituted with some other ingredient) and steak was ordered medium, but came out medium-rare. Overall, it was a nice experience and we didn’t want to complain. Thank you

Côte is without doubt the best restaurant in Bishops Stortford. It has great ambiance, the service is just right and the quality of the food is consistently excellent. What’s more it is reasonably priced!

Always like it at Bishops Stortford restaurant staff always very polite and service is as good as a good London restaurant downside plates and food should be a lot hotter and the restaurant in general could be cleaner ie dust and dirty mirrors but in general a good experience

Although we enjoyed our lunch, there was some feeling that corners were being cut and that standards were slipping. No bread was offered with the soup and the fish was very dry.

A very good ambience, I thought the staff were attentive, and enjoyed an excellent meal. 5 of us dined and we all thought the same. We shall book again soon

It is getting difficult to say new things about Cote bishops Stortford. Service as always was attentive without being overbearing and all the food was well cooked and presented. Yet another enjoyable visit.

Very good all round - the food was excellent and not too expensive. The service was a little slow and we had difficult to wait around to have the bill. This was the only draw back although despite the service a bit slow, it was compensated by the cheerful nature of the waitresses etc. We definitely will go there again

Fantastic atmosphere, food and service - the waitress knew straight away who we were when we turned up, she also remembered one of us was a vegan. At the end of our meal, which was as tasty as ever (i had the pork belly) = we asked the waitress if she could book us a taxi, which she did, but as we had to wait 20 mins she also gave us a free glass of prosecco - great service

Cote in Bishop’s Stortford is a busy, popular restaurant, with a great ambience. The staff are always friendly, polite and attentive and the food is always delicious and reasonably priced. I visit every month to sample the new menu.

A thoroughly enjoyable lunch. We ate from the 2 course lunch menu, varied choice and exceptional value. Very pleasant to eat the simple French food. Service, as usual, was on the ball.

Table was booked for 1pm. Not cleared and had to wait for a while but service was good and the food ordered was tasty. It was nice to have a coffee outside and enjoy the sun for a while.

We went for a light lunch. The bread and olives never arrived, but the main lunches did and were very good. The latte's were exquisite!

Excellent food and service as always. We come here frequently and have never been disappointed. They also do an excellent breakfast. Staff very helpful and friendly.

Had a very good meal... again and thoroughly enjoyed our pick from the Prestige Set Menu. We will be back next month to sample the October Specials.

An excellent evening out with friends, all of us made to feel welcome by our friendly and attentive waitress. Her recommendation on the roast duck breast was inspired. Cooked (pink) to perfection. Couldn't fault the service, the food and the overall ambience. Will be coming back...very soon!
