Côte Bishop's Stortford

Consistently good, although there were a few glitches today.......an alarm bell constantly ringing, despite numerous resets be staff. We were forced to change tables, mid meal. The staff handled this discreetly and efficiently so it didn’t cause us any distress.

Visited this restaurant many times, have never been disappointed, food always excellent, staff very friendly and service great.

We were a party of five rather than our usual (myself and my wife. We waited for ages for the first course which included three of the usual excellent onion soups. This time they arrived barely luke warm! We did not send them back as we were very hungry by this time. The lady in charge apologised, but the harm had been done. She gavce us a complimentary bottle of red wine, but one of our number, my son's partner, insisted I deleted the service charge as we hadn't had any! I did so. The place didn';t seem particularly busy so we could not understand why the service was so poor.....

Portion size was a little small - I ordered the salad nicoise but there were only 3 bits of lettuce, 2 slices of potato.. not worth the money

Poor service. Poor food. Long waiting times. Order wrong. 25 minute wait for desert.

Friendly staff and tasty food. I mentioned that several mussels hadn’t opened in my dish and when the final bill came the meal had been subtracted from the total! The gesture was very much appreciated.

Our meal was perfectly cooked, although the soup could have been hotter. The staff were friendly and efficient, I would definitely recommend Cote as a very nice place to eat.

Noise was much less than usual. My steak wasn't top quality and a bit over done for me. I think the waitress excellent on other ways, did not quite understand my "fairly well done" after my son had said "medium" for his.

Went to celebrate my sons birthday - he received a glass of fizz when we arrived which I thought was a lovely touch. Food was lovely - would recommend the restaurant and will be looking forward to eating there again.

Very disappointed. Cote in BS branch has been my favorite for the last 5 years. The quality of the service and the food has gone down. I always look forward to the attention to detail and the service. The quality of the food was very disappointing. My waiter who seemed to be a manager as well, took our order and after each item his response was ''wicked''. We had to call out to get our drinks order after 15 minutes of sitting. The restaurant wasn't even half full. One of the items came out i.e. the spinach was not fresh produce and not edible either. Very disappointed and disheartened. Will not be going back.

Unhappily this dining experience was coloured by the intense cold of the restaurant. The food was enjoyable and while there were several people present the cold was not so noticeable. However, when the lunch rush hour passed, we were very cold indeed. Have they not heard f heating?

The staff were excellent and the food of a very high standard but I understand that the gratuity is not shared amongst the staff. Therefore I paid the gratuity added to the bill in cash seeking an assurance that they will receive the gratuity in recognition of their excellent service. I always check this in every restaurant I visit and I am one of a growing number.

For a chain the overall impression is that it maintains a consistently high level which makes it a pleasure to visit.

Great night at Cote as always. Only a little point though. One of our party specifically asked for her salmon to be well cooked but it arrived pink so we are while she waited for her food. Food delicious as always.

This is our most favourite restaurant in Bishops Stortford. The food is always delicious, the set menu is great value for money and the staff are excellent and friendly every time we go.

Breakfast mix up on Saturday .... French toast, syrup on the side. Fried French breakfast turned up. Partner ate meal whilst I waited for French toast (having reminded "syrup on the side" .... French toast finally turned up, plastered in Syrup! Sigh, come back Pawel to get this team up to speed! (I was not charged for French toast ... but that's not the point .... we're regular clients, at least we were ....)

Service with a smile even though they were clearly understaffed. The staff coped admirably even though the odd customer walked out. Quality of the breakfast was excellent!

I look forward to eating at Cote in Bishop’s Stortford every month, to try their new menu. The January selection was brilliant and we were spoilt for choice. I had three delicious courses, plus a glass of wine, for just over £20, which I consider exceptional value for money!
