Great deal with the free wine, efficient courteous service & fantastic food. Couldn’t fault it. It was very busy downstairs but we asked to sit upstairs where the noise levels were much quieter.

I'm a regular at Cote, mostly in Bath, but also in Kingston, Glasgow, Edinburgh and Bristol. I am certain that you are one of the best restaurants of your type anywhere. The menus, from the two set options to the full a la carte are imaginative and consistent in quality. The monthly change over is something to look forward to. Without good food you'd be lost; but it has to be matched by service. For me, what stands out in Cote is the quality of those who work with you. Great people, who seem to be pretty happy working there (or else they're very good resting actors!). At the Bath Cote, many of them have become friends over six years. Thanks for the good experiences.

We had a lovely time the Bath restaurant is our favourite one, the place and the staff make it always a special occasion to eat there. We have eaten at Cote in Eton and Salisbury but Bath seems more intimate and comfortable. My husband has mobility problems but the staff seem to notice if he needs a helping hand and are there immediately.

I think that was the best meal we have had at Cote Bath. They are always pleasant and good value, but I have to say that the rib eye steaks we had were very, very good, and perfectly cooked to our taste. WELL DONE!

Excellent food, superb coffee, polite and attentive waiting staff. The only drawback was I asked for no dressing on the salade verte, and it arrived with dressing. A lovely way to celebrate 48 years of marriage!

From the booking on line, to the welcome, helpfulness and friendliness of the staff and our delicious lunch, we have no complaints whatsoever. I know the Cote in Worcester, which is also excellent, but have not been to Bath before and we were not disappointed. Thank you.

Food was good, however my husband and I were placed between a large table of 8 and and 4, both tables were very loud. I understand this isn’t the restaurants fault however I do think a bit more though should be given to where couples are placed

This is the second lunch I have tried here recently. The lunch is very good value for money and the atmosphere is lovely. I have found the service though on the two occasions quite slow and on the last occasion I had to go up and ask for more drinks. I didn’t see many staff though so perhaps that is the reason. I will go again as I live in Bath and I do like the restaurant.

It is with some regret that I must report a very unsatisfactory experience. Over several years we have enjoyed many an excellent meal with good service, but today there was a problem and our main course failed to materialise. After hastening a couple of times over the period of an hour, we spoke finally with the manager who was most apologetic explaining there had been a problem with the ordering. The main course had not been ordered. At that point, we elected to abandon ship and the four of us went elsewhere. Moreover, we have often raved about the calamari served in your Bath establishment, invariably tender, full of taste and sans bit and pieces. So much so that we have often recommended it to those we know as being the best calamari in Western Europe. So speaks the voice of experience! Today it appears that the supplier or recipe has changed as our starter, which was served, was no better than below average. Clearly, something has gone wrong.

Always good value -- food, service and ambience excellent. Only problem was with a seagull which swooped down and grabbed a chicken leg in its beak -- really quite scary and would make me think twice before sitting outside -- which is a pity. I think the mangement should tackle this problem.

Not so much greeted upon arrival. Had reserved in advance and the Maitre D' pointed at 3 tables (one of which was still dirty) and told us to take our pick. Sat down at the dirty one. Someone came to lay it. I had to point out that it was still dirty from the last sitting. There was also newspapers and wrappings scattered around the table, which were not removed for the duration. Were then basically ignored until I called someone over to take our drinks order. I ordered an Aperol Spritz. I was brought an Apple Spritz!! She said that she thought that I had said Aperol Spritz, but they didn't stock it. When I looked quizzical, she admitted that they did but that it would cost £10, so she didn't think that I would want one! Meal then took at least 20 minutes to come. I ordered another white wine spritzer - it never came and wasn't on the bill. I Again ignored, until I called over a waiter, who was charming, to give us our bill. Paid and left. My mother paid - I would not have paid the tip. The restaurant was busy, but the staff were too busy doing non-customer related things e.g. drying glasses, rearranging bottles etc. to give good service. I have always been a big fan of Cote and go to the one in Covent Garden often before the theatre, where they are very busy, but always give good service.

We frequently visit Cotes in Bath and London. The service is good but the portions of sides are getting rather small. We had French beans £3.25 for 14 beans !!!!!

My husband and I went for dinner on Saturday night. We were looking for consistency and familiarity, so that we might relax, chat and just catch up. Côte is comfort fare... Our arrival was to a restaurant in chaos, with no greeter available, we stood around like lemons, then moved to a different level of the restaurant where we found a rather flippant staff member, with a bit too much back chat. We just wanted the table we had booked, not a comedy show. We were rather nonchalantly directed back downstairs with the names of two hosts we should find... not they would be waiting for us, we needed to track them down.. this proved an impossible task and eventually a very sweet waiter took pity on us after 10 more minutes of standing around in full view of other diners. My partner is quite a well known in music and he felt uncomfortable standing around being recognised by a few diners. In fact we were about to leave, had it not been for the waiter who rescued us. We were shown a table, but selected a quieter one with a bit more privacy and not as close to a table of 12 loud friends having fun. We had asked for a quiet location, away from big tables and service areas...this was not reflected in the first table offered.... That said, in terms of the service which ensued, we cannot complain, the waiter was attentive, responsive and brought great food in a good sequence i.e. not too much waiting around, despite the place having some big parties to manage. We'd ordered bread and olives which arrived have way through eating our appetisers and without any prompting, these were taken off the bill. Something we appreciated. All our food was as we wanted it, freshly cooked, hot and delicious. No complaints at all... the waiter, made the service and saved the evening after a very shaky start. I like Côte and have since it first appeared on Charlotte Street in London. It has always maintained consistency in its brand, promises and delivery... hence why we continue to go repeatedly over the years... That said, our main criticism of this experience was the fact that the restaurant, the team and the customer were let down by the front of house hosts. They were absent, hard to identify in a busy restaurant, not in control of welcoming, seating or giving menus. Our waiter saved the day and had it not been for him, we would have left. It was the worst collapse of a front of house greeting team I've experienced anywhere and perhaps it would be interesting to find out what went wrong and why they were not coping. It detracted greatly from the experience and was not consistent with the brand expectations. So that was disappointing and certainly not conducive to winning new loyal customers and repeat diners.... We will of course return, but those FOH ladies need to get their acts together. It was an unmitigated shambles and I don't expect to be asked to wander around a crowded restaurant trying to find the Mâitre D... they should be finding us... Finally, the acoustics downstairs in the Bath restaurant are horrendous. Sound bounces off every wall and it's tricky to hear you dinner companion....but easy to hear the dildo waving hen party, 4 tables away around the corner...it was a warm night and if the large glass doors were opened, the sounds would have drifted and not been as intense... That said, we like the chain and won't be abandoning it because of this last experience. We went for food and we got great food...nice wine and ice cream... we just felt it's useful to feedback honestly, if you invite us, otherwise what is the point..

Four of the six meals were not really hot. With my wife's fish the so called mashed potato was a solid cold mass. The piece of fish was minuscule. We have had many meals at several branches of Cote and, until now have enjoyed the experience

Wow, wow, wow! A massive thank you to the staff at Côte for making my husband’s 50th birthday meal absolutely fantastic. We truly couldn’t have asked for more. The food was delicious- everyone in our party thoroughly enjoyed their food, even my very tired 4 year old. She said the ice cream with chocolate sauce was the best thing she’d tasted in her life! Calamari, Pate, Steak tartare were all devoured in no time at all. Mains were boeuf bourgignon, pork belly, steak and duck. These were savoured and struggled with as the food was plentiful but delicious and we didn’t want to waste anything! Our waitress was amazing, we made her practice her french with my daughter and her attention to the table was just right! A creme brûlée with a candle topped off the evening for my husband along with a calvados to finish and he was one content gent. Top marks all round, well done to the team at Côte Bath - if I could hug you I would!!!
