Friendly efficient service. Excellent meal. Enjoyed the bottle of Chardonnay especially. Will definitely be back and will tell all my friends it is a very good place to eat
Excellent, well-priced meal, flawless, polite service. I was entertaining some business visitors from abroad and they had a great time. Would recommend to all. Great stuff!
We dined at Cote on a Friday night before a concert at the Barbican. The restaurant was packed and then their computer system went down. Our waiter notified us right away that the courses might be delayed but we took our chances. Despite the glitch, we got all our food in good time, it was delicious as always, and we had a lovely evening. It looked a bit stressful for the staff, but they all worked together seamlessly - well done for managing through the crisis.
We had a delicious meal at Cote, and the service was excellent and extremely prompt, which was important as we were attending a concert afterwards. The staff were lovely - so friendly and helpful. The best I've had anywhere recently - so thank you. The only slight problem was the noise level being quite high - which was probably down to the acoustics of the premises - at times I had difficulty hearing conversation on my table. I don't think there was any piped music though - thank goodness! (Please keep it that way) Overall a very enjoyable experience.
Getting food served hot here does seem to be a problem. Little niggling things. Helpful and attentive staff. Unexceptional food, but this is not top shelf dining. Good value by today’s chain restaurant standards. Noisy room.
Wonderful meal, seat near the window, the staff were attentive without being intrusive. I would definitely recommend this restaurant, we went before going to the Barbican for a concert. They served us quickly, so we had plenty of time without being rushed,
Service was great even though it was extremely busy! Food was lovely and good value. Would have been a a higher score but ran out of one of the main items and not told until quite late on. Defo recommend if visiting the Barbican.
The service has been really bad. We had dinner at 9 45pm and the staff had just one idea in mind : going back home. Also they did not propose the vegetarian menu spontaneously and we had to ask for it.
I am a regular at Cote but this was disappointing. Two out of 5 starters arrived late and cold and service was generally slow. This took the shine off the meal.
It is a great place to enjoy good food and talk business, catch up. the staff are fine and friendly, service is fast and would come back
Not as good as usual. Too busy which meant staff rushed off their feet! This affected the level of service we have come accustomed to over the many visits we make to Cote.
Always a wonderful experience at Cote Barbican - great service and delicious food! Thank you!
Pleasant experience. Good location, attentive staff, generally good experience fot all
Lovely food and friendly waiting staff. Service a little slow for the main course, which led to a little anxiety as we were attending a concert and no time for dessert!
Excellent service and great value food. Never disappointed with a Cote trip! Set lunch menu is amazing value. Highly recommend this restaurant to friends and family.
Always a pleasure to come here before we go the Barbican.
Always fairly consistent food at Cote. Salmon starter was OK though the leaves were tired and looked like they'd been out a few hours.Sourdough was a bit measly. Fairly attentive staff though had to be asked a couple of times for an extra glass and other stuff. Breton chicken v good and moist and fries were topnotch (always a good sign)
We dined on Sunday, 3rd March at Cote, Barbican ~ which is our "default restaurant" when we are going to the Barbican Concert Hall ! We were grateful for our complimentary Gin & Tonics, but hugely annoyed to be told that (as we had been given free drinks) we had to order ONLY from the a la carte Menu and NOT from the prix fixe at £19.95 selection! In my view , a totally ridiculous restriction, which only served to give the impression that you were attempting to "increase the customer spend" for our meal !! Tell me if I'm wrong here !! On complaining, the Manageress said we could ignore this ruling and order as we pleased, which was the obvious step to take under the circumstances ! Please explain why you have this (thoroughly stupid!) rule in the 1st place !! Aidan Jones ~ 07766 700553 aidan1jones @gmail.com
Excellent service and really tasty lunch will definitely return .
As always great food great service and (nearly) affordable. Best value/quality in the square mile
We had 3 courses from the pre theatre menus, the food was excellent. The service was polite, efficient and with a smile. The quality price ratio was excellent.
Starter service was fast but main course and dessert service was slow. Overall time spent in restaurant 2 hours. The duck breast was very tough and bland.
Always good service, great value for money. Waiting time is insanely quick and the food is enjoyable. Never had a bad experience. Thanks to all at Cote.
Excellent food. A good choice of menu and a good wine list. Staff were unfailingly polite and helpful. The specials menu was exactly that with some excellent options. No complaints. Thoroughly enjoyed an unhurried meal.
Service was friendly and helpful, food tasty, unfortunately the French onion soup was not very warm and the mash with my main course was completely cold. They did apologise, plus give us a discount and free chips... :), But obviously food should have been hit in the first place!
No spinach, off! Really annoyed about that. Cannot believe they ran out.
Overall we were disappointed with our experience. We waited over half an hour for our starters, which only came when we prompted the staff, the mains came with additional fries, not ordered and our side order of beans was missing. The wrong dessert was brought to the table. We usually have had very good experiences of dining at Cote. The manager apologised and gave us free drinks and discount on the food which was generous but did not make up for the unsatisfactory experience.
Service when we arrived was slow. Apple tart pastry was so tough the staff offered to replace it with an alternative dessert but no-one came to take the order. Not your usual standard!
Lovely meal excellent service loved it! Will eat there often great place
Excellent cuisine with some really mouthwatering specials this month. Service exemplary as always. Our waiter Eduardo from gave us outstanding service and he is to be commended on his professional approach.
Lovely food, felt fresh, well-presented. Desserts a bit formulaic. They made a mistake by under-charging for our wine, which I pointed out, but they graciously waived. Nice touch! Service attentive, but not intrusive. Definitely worth another visit.
Nice friendly and very attentive staff, the food was delcious. I had the pork belly and can honestly say it was the best I've ever eaten. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting London. Fantastic place for a meal if you're attending an event at the Barbican as it's only about 100 yards from the front door.
Helpful staff, wonderful food served efficiently, wine served at correct temperature, red at room temp and rose cold, good choice of desserts including cheese board and a calvados and coffee to close. Excellent ambience and good booth for four people. What's not to like. Will definitely go back time after time.
Lovely staff, great food and a decent pot of tea. Perfect for a lazy Sunday morning breakfast
Outstanding cuisine and service. The set menus are imaginatively compiled with many original dishes. The wine list is comprehensive and reasonably priced. The service from our Polish waitress, Kashia(?), was exemplary.
Went here for a quick meal before going to The Barbican and it was ideal. It was a pity that we had to dash off as we probably did not do the restaurant justice.
Initially we were offered a table right by the bar and the noisy coffee machine asked for another seat - there were plenty of tables and banquets, but we were offered a table in the middle of where everyone was walking past, so not ideal. I had mussels and wasn't offered any bread and when asked for it was then given a whole basket and charged for it. I like Cote and visit this and St Paul's quite regularly but was very disappointed. they also assumed we wanted dessert and when we didn't we had to wait an age for the bill. in hindsight I should have taken the service charge off

Consistently good value and great fro an evening at the Barbican.
Nice atmosphere and decor, but the service was somewhat erratic, culminating with the presentation of a fougasse to one of our party as their main course!
Food as good as ever and great value for a money . Fast, polite and happy service which is great for pre concert or theatre.
I always have a lovely time at Cote Barbican. The food is tasty, the service is quick and you cannot beat the value provided. It's family friendly and I even had a free round of drinks for my birthday - Thank you Cote!
A busy restaurant catering to all sorts of groups of families and friends and seemingly all sorts of occasions. The food lived up to its billing and was well cooked and served by pleasantstaff. We were hurried along slightly as we had dallied over our starters and was handed our main courses promptly, once our starters were cleared away
Cote is one of the best things to happen to the Barbican the food is sensibly priced sensibly served and always consistent quality we have been going since it opened and have always had a great experience thank you David and Patricia
Top-notch food, great service and amazing atmosphere! Definitely will be going again.
Good food, set menus are excellent value (though it is underwhelming that you always have to ask for the set menu card). The Barbican branch is rather spacious. Staff was a bit cold that evening - too bad. Overall had a good dinner and would return.
Under-staffed and difficult to get the attention of waiters. Disappointing when we had allowed a full 1.5 hours from arrival to get to a concert at Barbican. This should have been a key time for them.
Our waiter was really really impressive. We don’t know his name but it was the best service we have had anywhere in a long time. He noticed immediately that one starter hadn’t been delivered and said he was checking on it, without being chased. And the food and wine was lovely.
Good welcome, efficient service, tasty food and a good variety on offer on the Gluten free menu which was appreciated. Also i felt able to trust that food was genuinely Gluten free as I am a coeliac and this is essential.
Very good value amd excellent food. Staff friendly and hard working
Very pleasant meal and we weren't hurried despite the restaurant being very busy. Noise level was a little high when the place was full but nothing excessive.
