Côte Barbican

There were problems with two out of four starters (one soup served cold and one starter for which they had run out of the key ingredient). However the maitre d' dealt with it efficiently and made the reselected starter complimentary. Overall, the food was very good and the meal enjoyable. As with many restaurants of the type the high noise level can make hearing difficult!

We waited over a half hour for our meal without explanation until we asked. My duck showed signs of being reheated. So not very good.

Food Service and ambience were impeccable. There was a good wait between courses and staff did not rush us at all. A fantastic place to catch up with friends, it felt like we were back in Paris.

Choosing from the set price menu, were impressed by the quality of the food. The surroundings, presentation and service were great too. Have no hesitation in going there again.

An easy booking service. Arrived at pleasantly attractive restaurant . Stylish ambience and great table by a window. Good new monthly pre theatre menu well presented with good choice of dishes. Food excellent and god value for money.

Lovely helpful staff. Meal very good although I had expected a greater amount of fennel in the orange and fennel salad starter- but it was very refreshing.

Wide variety of sensibly priced dishes on the menu. Our choice, the duck confit, was very good and the service was great - cheerful, helpful but not trying to over-sell.

Arrived just before 7pm so was able to benefit from the pre theatre menu. We were greeted and seated in a friendly and efficient manner. Our bottle of house white and some water appeared promptly and our order was taked. The quality of the food was excellent and the three courses very good value.

This branch of Cote Brasserie is the best one in the London area. The service is excellent and the quality of food of the highest standard. The prices are reasonable. Highly recommended.

Conveniently sited near the Barbican's places of entertainment, Cote offers quick, attentive service and delicious food and drink. Consistent high standards and great value. Highly recommended.

Cote is one of a chain of French type brasseries - well run and with excellent service. Both food and wine are good value and the set menu is very good value.

Never been disappointed with a meal at Cote - good, tasty food, nice seating and pleasant, professional service. Service is efficient and attentive, and lunch sets menus are excellent for business lunches without breaking the expenses account.

First visit to Cote Barbican. Food was great, good value for money for the fixed price lunch menu, service was good - will definitely return!

Eaten here before, unfortunately although I had booked a table for one the waitress thought I was waiting for someone so did not take my order. After 45 mins I grabbed her attention and ordered. Sadly on this occasion the food was not up to standard but the manager certainly went out of his way to rectify this! I left happy.

As a regular at Cote restaurants in different towns I expect a certain standard of food and level of service and Cote Barbican met my expectations. In addition, my companion who is disabled but very independent, was warmly welcomed and the table we were given was very accessible for her.

Excellent restaurant for pre theatre dining, spacious, firendly (if somewhat slow, service. good value on the set menues. But disappointed that we didn't get our free bottle of wine despite one of our party ordering from the a la carte menue.

Excellent food and service. Would certainly recommend and will be going soon hopefully. Even on a Sunday it was busy, so booking would be advisable.

Prompt and attentive service, great food and reasonable prices. Restaurant is lively, with a nice ambience and a good place for conversations. I've been to Cote about a dozen times this year and have never been disappointed even once. There's a reason why Cote's a London favourite! Small request: can you put the delicious French onion soup on the 2/3 course set menu please?

Lovely staff! Simple but great food! So easy and convenient for the cinema at the Barbican. Nice busy atmosphere! We hope to come back soon.

Decent grub. Their set menu is pretty good. And the location in the Barbican very handy. Good, reliable and affordable, if not really for a special occasion.

However, although the experience was very good I am getting fed up with being asked to spend my time reviewing absolutely everything that I buy or do.

Good value food, especially on the pre-concert menu. Fairly wide choice even on that menu, and beautifully wide choice on the a la carte menu. Staff friendly and efficient

The waiter brought me the wrong order to begin with, but he did correct it when I pointed it out. I had the cheese & mushroom crepes, which were VERY greasy. Do not recommend that particular item on the menu. The steak my friend had was really nice though.

Interesting and varied menu so no difficulty in choosing something delicious to eat. Charming staff, and good service, would thoroughly recommend Cote, Barbican if you are in this part of the world.

A lovely venue - adequate space between tables, for example - and the food is delicious, and a reasonable price. Very handy for the Barbican.

Good pre-Barbican venue - pre theatre menu good value and served promptly. Wine list includes some good value better French wines and Champagne by the glass.

Not the same standard as at St Martins lane Cote. We had to return a course of one of the party. Service was slow - one member of the party did not have time for desert.

We were a party of four and we received great service from the team. The food was good and good value with the 'pre- 7pm' meal price.

The food was, as always, excellent and represented very good value, but service was a little tardy; luckily we were not in a hurry, and the waiting staff were always courteous and helpful, so despite the delays we had an enjoyable experience.

The food as always was lovely but someone has to do something about the state of the ladies toilets. There was no toilet paper anywhere and the place was wet from hand washing all over the units and floor. Not a pleasant end to the meal.

We have eaten at this Barbican Brasserie many times over the past 18 months and not been disappointed. However, this time was absolutely disappointing. New chef? New management? Tiny portions about the size a child would eat; brownish endive in endive/pear salad; utterly tasteless hake, served not on a bed of lentils as announced on the menu but on a bed of tinned chickpeas (hake and chickpeas are NOT happy bedmates); a dried out and very small apple crumble resembling not a whit the 'Normandy' description! And what French brasserie would serve a salad without bread?

Good food, with something for everyone. Very welcoming staff. Went back on Sunday and had to be quick, this was absolutely no problem for them and they made sure we were out on time.

Great local place with affordable, quality food and special offers, especially the chicken dishes. Always good service and seasonal specials. Gluten free menu is also available.

Slight confusion on our order/table/food. Handled well by management in the end. Will probably visit again at somepoint as it's a local place to us

As usual a lovely experience to have Sunday morning breakfast at Cote - Eggs Royale, apple juice and a cafetiere of delicious coffee. Highly recommended.

Food was fine and good value. Service quick as we were having pre theatre menu. But we were seated next to a very noisy table of 12. People shouting across the table. We could not hear each other speak and left as quickly as we could. I had booked and there were Empty tables elsewhere so this was planned seating. We could have asked to be moved and would have done so normally, but had already been served a starter when group arrived so just thought it best to eat and run.

Cheap, quick and good service. The pre theatre menu is really good value and the wine is very reasonable, we chose the cheapest red and it was very drinkable.

We had a pre-theatre meal. Service was attentive and speedy, food was tasty (even though our first choice of haddock was unavailable). Great value for money. Would definitely use again.

Very friendly welcome at the outset. Helpful waiter who took our order quickly and brought both courses promptly. We had the pre theatre dinner which is very good value and we allowed plenty of time to get to the play at The Barbican. Both our meals were tasty and well presented and piping hot. Would recommend this restaurant for simple, well made food at a reasonable price.

Lovely setting for a brunch business meeting there. Staff were very friendly and the atmosphere very good for a business meeting. Maybe could have had more attentive staff - we had to ask for more coffee - but I wouldn't mark them down for that as I think they could see it was a business meeting and were giving us our space. They reacted very quickly once we asked.

Great food, great value. The set menu continues to thrill. The sea bass fillets were delicious. We didn't have time for desert sadly, as the service was just a little slow.

Has a good atmosphere with the Best seats by the window. Friendly and swift service, excellent coffee and tasty French breakfast. Went for the formule.
