A great restaurant for pre/post Barbican visit. Definitely worth another visit before the next concert! Also a good children's menu available - my grandchildren thoroughly enjoyed their meal.
We have eaten at Cote Barbican on many occasions and have never had a bad experience. Our most recent visit was, however, most disappointing. It took a long time before our starters arrived and we waited nearly 45 minutes for our main courses. The staff attempted to serve us main courses that were for a different table but nobody had the courtesy to apologise for the delay. We had to call a member of staff over in order to complain. When the main courses arrived we had very little time left to eat the food. My risotto main course was almost cold but we did not have time to send it back. Later a supervisor/manager came over to apologise for the delay and we had money taken off our bill. We like Cote restaurants and will probably go back to the Barbican branch but this experience has left a sour taste.
We each had a main from the a la carte menu, my Tuna Nicois was excellent with fresh tuna, griddled to perfection, the Fish Stew was also excellent with a generous amount of fish. Friendly effecient service - it was a quiet day though. Overall super value.
Great location for the Barbican . All of the team were friendly and the meal was excellent. We decided to go off the main menu and the food was well prepared. Wine was reasonable in terms of quality and price.
Not enough vegetarian choice. No vegan option. Compared to prices for meat vegetarian options unimaginative and maybe overpriced. You don't seem to care about no meat eaters.
Very slow, no time for dessert before concert even though arrived 5.45pm and had pre theatre menu. Food ok not special but had to rush it
We have visited Barbican Cote a few times, and not only do you get the great quality and value for money that they always provide - especially from their pre-theatre menu - but the staff are always friendly and attentive! And also accommodating when they know you have to leave by a certain time for a show.
Excellent food and service pre concert. Late arrival of one of our party dealt with very helpfully. All dined on the Menu which is great value.
Excellent food and service. Very busy with a pre theatre crowd but no problems. It is good to know that standards have not dropped over the last three years
Good choice of larger and smaller dishes, competent and friendly service taking into account diners going to a nearby concert needing to leave fairly swiftly, Good value for money. A cut above the usual chain restaurant.
Though one of the friends accompanying me and I are great fans of this chain, visiting the ones at the Barbican and in Tavistock Street with some regularity, this was a first-time visit for our mutual friend who was favourably impressed by the menu and food and wine ordered, served and eaten/drunk. Value for money, good menu selections and prompt service were all greatly appreciated by the three of us on Sunday, 14th May. Adrian Clark
Always terrific value here, good service, well presented and consistent. My fish cakes and his minute steak were excellent. Thefrench fries are as they should be
I've been to many Cotes, many time before, but not this one until now. It proved to be well up to the standard i expected. Good tasty food, served professionally and courteously, and at a very fair price. Brilliant for a pre-concert or pre-theatre dinner.
Best three-course pre-theatre meal we had in our two-week visit of London, including many much higher-priced restaurants. The fish was done just right, and the salad was excellent.
Food as usual was excellent but the service was awful. We had to ask for everything. We were given a bottle of wine as compensation.
Excellent choice of food, sensible portions which are not too overwhelming. Friendly smiling staff giving great service. I am a regular visitor to this local restaurant.
Great food and good service. We all had the pre-theatre menu which is great value for money. The prossecco was a little warm though and a lot of restaurants are guilty of the same thing. Test it before you pour!
Excellent - as per usual! We would not expect anything else from Cote. Always good food and excellent service and today was no exception to that!
We were seated at a table near to the coffee machine which made it noisy. However, were friendly and efficient and the food was delicious. The fish pie would have benefited from more fish and less leeks. We would be happy to come again.
Service quick, though the restaurant was busy. Food good, and good value. The waitresses were very attentive. I'm looking forward to my next visit! Very good!
A good and friendly atmosphere; very nice people, A fresh and good food. A good place before a concert (Barbican). To recommend. Your booked table is ready for you on time.
Excellent all round: good food, good selection, great prices, very good service. only small downside is that it was so busy it was a little bit noisy, but that's the result of the place being popular, which is thoroughly deserved.
Lovely meal at Côte in Barbican. Represents excellent value for money. Friendly, efficient service and tasty, reliable food. The salad with bacon was particularly tasty but my favor
Very good food and ambiance with attentive staff. Very near the Barbican so ideal for a pre or post performance meal or meet up - could not recommend highly enough
Outstanding value and service. Even waived the cost of the coffees as the bill arrived a little late! Quality of food and wine as usual excellent
Service is OK - but not spectacular - the location is great and the menu provides exactly what you need in terms of lunch or dinner options.
Perfect location for theatre performance. One of our guests was celebrating her 60th and they gave flowers. Drink and presented candles whilst singing..ALL without charge BUT equally as important they were SO attentive to everyone dining there, not just our table.
We enjoyed a very reasonable pre-theatre meal (tomato salad, charcuterie, minute steak and excellent fries), and good service. Would definitely recommend. Restaurant very full and buzzy.
Excellent environment and ambience , this together with the excellent quality of the food and the staff , who make dining there an extremely pleasurable event . It is also in a London situation , good value for money . We look forward to repeating the experience again in the future . Full marks to the Restaurant .
Wonderful staff! so helpful and kind. Food was delicious. Proximity to Barbican could not be better. We also enjoyed the wine selection. highly recommend this location!
Venue chosen for a business meeting for three people. Great service, prompt but not rushed - great selection of food and offers. Managed to get a lunch and a meeting within the hour.
Good value and well-prepared food. Good service and knowledgeable staff. Unlike some 'Cote' restaurants , which are very cramped, this one is spacious, with plenty of room between tables.
Great food and very good service.mtge chicken was beautifully cooked and the garlic butter enhanced the flavour. The Crewe caramel was bliss. Cannot recommend highly enough.
I have to admit to being a very demanding customer but the Maitre de Rish could not have been more accommodating in finding me a table to my liking. The food was up to its high standard and l don't think you could get better value any where else in London.
Excellent, efficient service all round. An appealing list of seasonal specialities, a good set menu for pre and post theatre ( well situated near the Barbican ), and an a la carte menu with reliable standards. Definitely worth returning to.
For me Cotes are always reliable, if not exciting places to eat. This one is great for a pre-theatre supper at the barbican, the set menu being very good value. But book early so you're not in a rush - the service can be slow at that time of day as they get very busy (probably on account of the barbican's own eateries being poor quality and overpriced).
The food was excellent and the staff very helpful. As with most restaurants these days, the noise level was high and it is therefore difficult to always hear one's companion. But overall I was very satisfied as usual.
A dependable experience, with good food and friendly staff. One star deducted as the staff were very busy and took a while to bring the bill.
WE HAD THE LUNCH 2 COURSE MENU AND IT WAS LOVELY. REALLY GOOD PORTION AND FRESH. GOOD QUIET ATMOSPHERE WITH LOVELY AND FRIENDLY STAFF. WOULD GO AGAIN.
This is a straightforward offering of enjoyable food, ideal for the pre-concert meal that I was wanting. Service was pleasant and efficient in the very busy restaurant.
We Love Cote! Our party of eight was given a separate alcove which was unexpected and brilliant! The food was great as ever. Service good if a little slow at the end when we were rushing to a show at the Barbican!
Food was very nice, and very good value. Service was also very good. The restaurant was a bit noisy but we were able to sit in a corner away from the noise.
Pre-theatre meal that was extremely tasty, imaginative and served on time! The serving staff were friendly and efficient. We were asked a few times through the meal for our feedback, so there seemed to be a felt concern on the restaurant's part to ensure the food was of the right quality.
We went there for a team lunch. It's always good value and good atmosphere. We mixed and matched the various types of menus with no problems.

Our waitress never brought the change to us before we had to leave and the salad nicoise was very short of lettuce! Normally my favourite restaurant that is a chain but not this time.
Lovely as ever. Wonderful staff and good reliable food with good wines. Can be loud if close to a big party as we were last night. One of our party is pretty hard of hearing so this can be a bit of a challenge.

We always go here before a performance at the Barbican. We enjoy the food and ambience of a Cote. This time is was quite busy, and it seemed slightly under-staffed, but we had an excellent pre-concert meal.
Delicious duck with cherries. They were very busy with preconcert bookings and ordering took a while but once they realised we were on tight timescale were very helpful.
Perfect location for a pre theatre supper. The service was prompt, atmosphere pleasant and the food was tasty. We will certainky use the restaurant again.
I've eaten at a few different Cote's now and they've all been very pleasant. This menu is a nice mix for everyone. I love the Belly Pork, but this time the crackling was not crisped at all. When it was pointed out they did offer to sort it out immediately. Apart from that the food was lovely.
