We are always impressed by the warm, helpful and friendly welcome from all staff - as well as excellent food, efficiently served in good time. Thank you!

Service slower than it's been in the past, particularly service of the sweet and I had to go to the bar to pay the bill.

Lovely lunch! Only downside was that the waiter was very softly spoken and, as English was not his first language and there was a lot of background noise, we had to ask him to repeat everything he said, which was a little awkward!

Great breakfast including the set menu of cooked breakfasts with coffee and juice for under £10, they made a slight error with a couple of the orders but were quick to fix and didn't charge us for those meals!

Good location and pleasant staff but food not on a par. Too much vinegar in salad dressing. Risotto was not hot! if we had not been on route to theatre would have sent main a back. We pointed out to staff who offered complementary pud.

Really excellent service at Barbican Cote. Speedy (we were going to the theatre) but also very friendly. Steaks were delicious and choice of wine excellent.

Cote is the most consistently reliable restaurant chain. I have visited many branches of Cote and would recommend any one them, their staff recruitment and training is superb.

We love Côte, but this wasn't a great experience. We struggled to get the staff's attention and my steak, which was supposed to be medium was well done. Sadly there was no time to send it back as we were told it would take 15mins and we had a show to catch. The manager comped my drinks, so that was kind.

Probably the best meal I've had at Cote. Good black pudding starter, excellent poussin main with salardaise potatoes and decent crumble dessert French style of course

This was one of our regular visits to Cote Barbican. I was surprised that we had to ask for our complimentary kir as it has arrived without asking previously. The main courses took longer than expected to arrive and it was obvious that the haddock had been waiting to be served for some time and had dried out considerably. It was a disappointing dish for a summer menu as the haddock and the puy lentils gave an overwhelming appearance of greyness and there were far too many lentils. The staff responded effectively by deducting the cost of the haddock dish as, by the time a replacement arrived, we had both shared the poussin as the other main course.

The Prawn Gratinee, Calamari and Haddock were delicious as was the bread we had before the meal. The service was spot on. Will definitely return.

We enjoyed our visit and main courses and deserts especially. It was a shame that we had to remind twice about the aperitif offer & our choice of starters not available but were given gratis replacement.

We had been invited back as our first experience in the Barbican Cote was terrible, however on this occasion the service was much improved and the food good.

Nice venue. Quite friendly staff. Ambience a bit stuffy and pretentious. Very small portions for price - beans tad over cooked so unpleasant texture. Chicken very tasty and well cooked.

We attended a Study Day at the Barbican and enjoyed dinner at Cote. The service was a little slow although this did not matter as we had allowed plenty of time. The waiter was helpful and knowledgable and the food good and at a reasonable price.

Good food and service, perfect for a reasonably priced but delicious pre theatre dinner. The water jugs were a bit odd because it was difficult to gauge how much water there was left in them, however.

We each had a main from the a la carte menu, my Tuna Nicois was excellent with fresh tuna, griddled to perfection, the Fish Stew was also excellent with a generous amount of fish. Friendly effecient service - it was a quiet day though. Overall super value.

great food in lovely surroundings. Never been to a Cote before and found it very impressive. Food was served quickly after ordering (although waiter was very slow to come and take our order). Quantity perfect. Food tasty and well seasoned, and presented. Desserts gorgeous. Plates were very hot - hooray! Loved the Pernod which I had not had for years. Excellent value. Will now seek out a local Cote nearer to home.

Staff remembered us from our last visit which was a welcome surprise. Good, busy restaurant. I do think there are too many menus and dishes for the kitchen to cope. Our food was good.

The service was appalling. Knowing that we had booked at 5.45pm which should signal that we were to a concert at The Barbican Centre, the main course took so long we had to remind them twice where it was. It eventually the main courses arrived on very hot plates but the food was either lukewarm or cold. One main course did not arrive. I believe it was never ordered but when it did, it was not quite half cooked. I think someone of senior management should have a good look as how this restaurant is run. I would add that this not the first time it has happened at this particular branch at least three times previously.

Great location for the Barbican . All of the team were friendly and the meal was excellent. We decided to go off the main menu and the food was well prepared. Wine was reasonable in terms of quality and price.

We have eaten at Cote Barbican on many occasions and have never had a bad experience. Our most recent visit was, however, most disappointing. It took a long time before our starters arrived and we waited nearly 45 minutes for our main courses. The staff attempted to serve us main courses that were for a different table but nobody had the courtesy to apologise for the delay. We had to call a member of staff over in order to complain. When the main courses arrived we had very little time left to eat the food. My risotto main course was almost cold but we did not have time to send it back. Later a supervisor/manager came over to apologise for the delay and we had money taken off our bill. We like Cote restaurants and will probably go back to the Barbican branch but this experience has left a sour taste.

Excellent food, service and value for money. There aren't many places in central London where you can get a 3 course meal, glass of wine , coffee and service for 2 people for £45 - well done Cote!

Not enough vegetarian choice. No vegan option. Compared to prices for meat vegetarian options unimaginative and maybe overpriced. You don't seem to care about no meat eaters.

Good choice of larger and smaller dishes, competent and friendly service taking into account diners going to a nearby concert needing to leave fairly swiftly, Good value for money. A cut above the usual chain restaurant.

We have visited Barbican Cote a few times, and not only do you get the great quality and value for money that they always provide - especially from their pre-theatre menu - but the staff are always friendly and attentive! And also accommodating when they know you have to leave by a certain time for a show.

Rather slow service (booked 17.45,mains arrived 18.40).Steak frites v good but friend's sea bass disappointing, lacking flavour. The usually brimming chocolate pots were only 2/3 full and mainly creme fraiche.Replacements were provided with no argument but weren't much better.Modestly priced at 3 courses for £13.95,2 for £12.50 so can't really complain too vociferously.

The food was OK but the service was slow and we had come for a pre- concert meal. We arrived at just after 6pm but did not get our mains until 6.55pm after some chasing. We then had to wait for the bill, which we again had to chase. Myself and my daughter left so we could catch the concert. My husband arrived at the concert just in the nick of time. I appreciate the restaurant was full but the point of going to the restaurant is to be able to eat before the concert so you think it should be geared to doing that.
