Côte Barbican

As always, in my experiencerie of Cote to date, frindly staff , nicely presented food in pleasant setting. Tomorrow I will dine again wih four friends in Cote in St Martin's Lane. Chosen again for reliability.

Nothing wrong with the food other than the olives never did arrive and frites for the steak did not arrive until we asked where were they. Cotes are a good chain offering value for money but their thin steaks can be overcooked and can be a bit risky ordering!

Excellent Pre-Theatre meal served promptly so no concerns about being late for the show at the Barbican Theatre. Really has overtaken the Barbican's own restaurants for pre- theatre

Outstanding in every respect. The service could not be faulted, friendly, helpful and discreet. The menus are well thought out, well prepared and offering something for everyone. Highly recommended.

Pre theatre menu for a party of 10. Nice food and pleasant atmosphere. Reasonably priced. Handy for seeing theatre at the Barbican just around the corner. Would go again.

Dependable food, reasonable prices and excellent swift service. Pre theatre menu cheap, and no tension about missing the start of show. Will come back again.

Good food, but 2 items were not available on the set lunch menu (chicken salad, and piquant chicken). That was disappointing, as it was a hot day and I was keen to have the salad. Service was prompt but seemingly without any pleasure (grim face).

Staff were very attentive, pleasant and polite at a busy pre- theatre time. Food was very good, correct temperature and tasty. Very good value for money especially if having the 2/3 course menu. Only comment for advice, please serve cold milk with tea.

Cote opens at 8am for an efficient breakfast, good menu choice and brisk service. Ideally could do with a larger, hotter coffee, but food is good.

EXCELLENT FOOD, SERVICE AND VALUE FOR MONEY - THE TOILETS WERE SPOTLESSLY CLEAN AND WE OFTEN GO TO VARIOUS BRANCHES WITH FRIENDS AND CONSTANTLY RECCOMMEND THEM - WE WENT TO THE GUILDHALL OF MUSIC AFTER THE EARLY SUPPER WHICH ADDED GREAT ENJOYMENT TO OUR ENTIRE EVENING - REGARDS GEOFFREY AND HILARY BURNS

We enjoyed the meal and the restaurant is cool and pleasant, but we were very thirsty afterwards and wondered if too much salt is used!

The Service was pleasant and efficient. The food was excellent and they dealt well with my allergies. However it was so loud conversation was difficult.

I couldn't give a 6 because the main course was slow in coming and my fish cake was rather well done. The staff were excellent though and the pre-theatre menu was as good as usual.

Food is good and reasonably priced, but the service is too slow for a brasserie in the city. Took them forever to bring the card machine too.

We were greeted promptly on arrival and the service was cheerful and attentive . There was a good choice on the menus. The food was excellent and there was just a short walk to the theatre to see The Tempest.

Management unimpressive having open arguments with staff and not very friendly to diners. Other staff hard working and food reasonably well cooked. Would think twice about eating there again.

My experience at Cote Barbican was fantastic. I had a perfectly cooked steak in a peppercorn and cognac sauce and for dessert I asked my waitress Monica ( who was very charming attentive and helpful ) if they had my favourite which was a crepe in grand marnier and she said we don't have all the ingredients to make it so I just opted for an ice cream. Anyway after going next door to the cinema to ask a question much to my surprise when I came back there on the table was my favourite dessert on fire and perfectly done. I called my waitress over to thank her and she said she had told the chef and he agreed to make it even though they had to go out and buy the oranges, so they went out of there way on a busy Saturday Night to make me a very happy and content man. Great place brilliant staff and good ambience with fantastic food. I will definitely be returning and would highly recommend this Cote Restaurant.

As ever, Cote lived up to expectations. Excellent, friendly service, good food, what more could we want. I come to various Cotes in the SE on a regular basis and am NEVER disappointed

Food is good and fairly priced with a mainly classic menu. Everything was cooked beautifully though and attentive service. No complaints for a very reasonably priced meal.

We had to wait for over an hour for the main to be served. Service was friendly but very slow and considering it was a pre-booked lunch and the surrounding area is full of offices the restaurant should really be prepared to get people in and out in an hour. Quality of food was just ok. So don't think i will be rushing back any time soon. PS: have to point out that we did get a goodwill discount cos of delay in serving our food which was a nice and welcomed gesture.

The food is always very good, the service is efficient and friendly and the atmosphere is nice and convivial. The window tables are particularly nice. Without doubt one of my favourite restaurants.

Good food and service. We had the duck and the roast cod. Very tasty and well cooked. Rather noisy for first hour but we were at pre-theatre crowd time.

We enjoyed our pre Barbican concert meal very much: the food at Cote is tasty, the staff friendly and it's great value. The service was a little slow this time - hence not the full five star rating. I'd go there again!

Slow uncoordinated service, although food was acceptable, other Côtes in area much better. Starter arrive quickly just after bread and olives, will have preferred apperative earlier. May. Course took in excess of 30mins to arrive

Choose the wrong main. Not the restaurant's fault but mine entirely. Am a great fan of Cote and all things French. Service as ever very good.

Food nice enough, and waiting staff professional and pleasant to engage with. Just felt it was a little slow, given we were heading off to a Barbican show and had to wolf our meal down a little. But, I would eat there again.

Excellent service, good food. We had pre theatre menu that had planty of choice and was well priced. Will visit again. Would always recommend this restaurant.

Tres bien - good food, good service, good price. A great brasserie chain with the Barbican being a strong link! We will be back soon!

We use the Cote when visiting the Barbican Concert Hall. It offers a great 2 or 3 course reasonably priced pre theatre menu and the staff are friendly and efficient. It's close enough to eat comfortably and arrive in time for the concert. Nothing to dislike.

Excellent value and high quality of food. As with many busy branches of Cote near popular venues, service can be a little slow. I have never eaten badly in a branch of Cote and highly recommend them. The special menu available 12 - 7 offers lots of choice and it's often hard to decide. Plenty for vegetarians.

Very nice lunch, staff where quick and attentive. Good locations and excellent value with the set menu lunch deal. We look forward to our next visit soon.

Good food and service, reasonable prices. Waitingbstaff were friendly and efficient.There was a good choice on the ore theatre menu. Food was served very quickly.

The food was excellent, and good value as always, although it was a little slow coming which meant we had to rush to get to the theatre on time. Service was ok, although our waitress seemed a bit annoyed with the time we took to choose a suitable wine.

Value for money meal, excellent service from everyone including Denis our waiter, who couldn't have been more helpful. Also thanks to the chef (whom we didn't meet) for tweaking a couple of the dishes to our satisfaction. A great start to our day out.

Cote offers a good value menu and fairy swift service. The food is (and was on this occasion) well cooked and presented, with a genuine French bistro feel. The Fleurie was good value and a drinkable summer red.

Food was perfectly good but service rather slow and we had to chase the staff quite a bit. Recommended for pre-theatre meals. Good value too.

The welcome on arrival was a relaxing start to the meal. I eat a limited variety of food but the menu offered several choices. The dishes I chose eg Fish Parmentier were all delicious as was the wine of the day. Excellent value with attentive and efficient staff.

Very good and reasonably priced pre theatre menu. Wine was also sensibly priced. Service was fine and the place was busy. Recommended for a quick meal before heading to the Barbican

Food was good had fillet steak which was well prepared, came medium rare rather than medium which was perfect for me. Peppercorn sauce could of been a little thicker but was generally okay, took a few minutes to be seated but was all good.

Good service, nice food, were very accommodating and friendly. Was a nice day out for the family after a special occasion. My thanks to the staff.

Very good, only downside pink tuna was a trifle underdone, more bloody. But dealt with very well by the staff, no problem for them to take away and cook for a bit longer

All satisfactory without being exceptional. Good value food and wine. Friendly prompt service. Nice table in the window. The food though was ordinary at the end of the day with no waow factor.

The food and service was good, however they got the bill wrong twice, so it was embarrassing for us to query a second time. However the manageress gave us free coffees which was a lovely gesture.

Service was slow. We waited for 30 mins at the table to be asked our order and to be offered water. Good food though! Good value for money.

Food was brought out cold, wrong sauce and no sides as orderd. Staff were nice but not attentive, waitress collected dirty plates off out table then with other hand put fresh food on the next table Long wait to get service to pay. We go to cote a lot but this one we will not return to

The food as ever was excellent but VERY unusually the service was not quite up to its usual standard. May be someone had an off day.

We attended a Study Day at the Barbican and enjoyed dinner at Cote. The service was a little slow although this did not matter as we had allowed plenty of time. The waiter was helpful and knowledgable and the food good and at a reasonable price.
