We had a lovely, relaxed evening here with attentive and efficient staff. The food was of good quality, served quietly and smoothly. We eat at Cote restaurants regularly and this was certainly one of the nicest we have visited.

We go to Cote mainly because it is really coeliac friendly but it would be nice to see a better range of gluten free breads/ gf garlic bread.

Excellent position for going to concerts at the Barbican & quick service. Food like other Cote Brasseries around the UK. Gets busy but worth a visit.

A very pleasant happy ambience. The waiter was extremely helpful and attentive. Service was good and the food was , as always, very good. Wines superb.

As always the staff were welcoming and efficient. The complimentary white wine was disappointing. We know the wine list . We are regular customers - it was thin and there is a better wine from the region . The food was good - but The Moules arrived without a dish for the shells and my husband had to get up and find his own spoon. Moules should ALWAYS be served with a spoon for the juices and sauce . Good vale.

Very efficient service with well presented and cooked food based on three course pre-theatre meal which is excellent value. The portions are not large but at the priced charged they are entirely adequate. Wine list is also good value with a first rate piquepoul.

Very good menu choices, Food came quickly. We both had chicken dishes and each had nice supporting vegetables. Creme Caramel and Peach Crumble for desserts rounded off an enjoyable experience and then off to the Barbican.

The food was good and well prepared. However, the service was poor, and there was fast food restaurant feel to the place. The wine waiter was not very familiar with the English language and consequently the drinks order was wrong.

As usual our visit to Cote - Barbican was entirely satisfactory. We had lovely food and good service. We were a party of eight and everyone thought it was an excellent choice of venue for a gathering of old friends to have a "catch up". We booked a late lunch so that the restaurant was starting to become quiet and we were able to enjoy a pleasant and unhurried afternoon and have already agreed to "do it again". Thank you.

Tasty food and wine and very good, pleasant service. We took our time and never felt rushed. Very good location for the Barbican too. The Cote chain continues to be reliable.

The location is great, the tables and seating comfy, the staff seemed a bit abrupt, the food was fine- and served quickly and staff responded to what we asked for so we could get to Barbican show in plenty of time

service functional rather than friendly, ie rushing us a bit, not asking if we wanted sides with the special main course (sole), just not very warm really. food good.

You did not have any steak left on the pre-Theatre menu. also I don,t like the practice of adding 12.1/2 percent gratuity which should be a personal thing

Very average. On the pre-theatre menus, the cold vichyssoise was good, but the cod, part of the pre-theatre menu was of inferior quality and overcooked. I guess you get what you pay for.

Cote has a great selection for those of us who prefer to avoid gluten , there's loads of choice, the food is tasty, the staff don't make you feel like a leper for asking about allergens. There's a good atmosphere, its never too loud and can be very quick if you need it to be or very relaxed or you're in no rush.

Efficient service, although I noticed that order for neighbouring couple, despite request for 'no oil' on melon, was presented with oil, and had to be returned. My special -- veal -- was OK, but wd have appreciated just a bit more jus! The potatoes weren't particularly great -- I suspect the oil they'd been cooked in was a bit tired. Also, they weren't quite hot enough when delivered to the table. Good bread and a good glass of wine -- a Cote du Rhone. Meal set me up nicely for the matinee at the RSC.

Very good meal at a excellent price considering the location, so very close to the Barbican Centre. The service was quick and friendly, even though it was busy. A good choice on the fixed price menu, It was rather noisy.

Perfect place to have a nice dinner before going to the Barbican to attend your cultural choice - menu has the usual suspects but well cooked. Service good good and the wine list acceptable.

The food was delicious and the staff were very accommodating when a member of our party was running 20 minutes late. Great location for a light bite before a trip to the Barbican. Special mention for the bloody marys, they were spot on!

I have enjoyed many good meals in branches of the Cote chain choosing from the lunch/early dinner but think this was the best yet, choosing from the a la carte menu. I had veal escalope and my grand daughter a huge chicken salad, and we shared delicious creamy spinach. Desert of creme caramel and chocolate fondant with ice cream good too.

Our party of five loved every dish - the pissaladière was warm with lots of olive oil and topping, the pan-fried hake with chickpeas was delicious, as were the salt cod croquettes and the pork belly. The service was also friendly and well-timed. We'll certainly return before our next visit to the Barbican.

We like the Cote chain - and had previously been to the Hampstead branch many times. The food is consistently good and this was true of the Barbican branch, too. The service at the Barbican was very good on Sunday - efficient, friendly without being fussy. Good value. 4 of us had 2 courses and 2 bottles of the 'house' white for £120 including service. Set us up nicely for the concert we were attending at the Barbican Centre.

Brilliant venue for Barbican. As always the pre-theatre menu was very good value ( though steak wasn't very hot - hence not a 6). Staff very helpful and flexible - people we were meeting were stuck in traffic but we still got through in time for theatre.

Booked in for a pre-theatre dinner at 5:30pm. It got very full but the service was calm, efficient and prompt. We were looked after brilliantly by Maria. Pre-theatre portions are smaller, naturally, but good value.

We had decent food and decent service. The reblochon was divine. There isn't a huge choice for vegetarians, just 'light meals'. The seem to subscribe a common view that vegetarians are on a permanent diet and don't like large portions. I had the spinach and mushroom crepes, which were quite nice but I didn't notice much spinach in them. Another, more serious, issue was that they were made with buckwheat and this wasn't mentioned on the menu. I'm not a big fan of buckwheat and wouldn't have ordered them if I'd known. I had the cheeses to end, and they were very nice. They also brought plenty of bread to go with the cheese, which is a definite plus - so many places skimp on the crackers/bread. Overall, it was a pleasant meal.
