As always, the service is good & unfussy. The food comes promptly, is well presented and tasty. We always go to the Barbican branch on our way to a concert. We can rely on a pleasant, good value eating experience.

We went for a pre-theatre meal. The ambience was good, the seats comfortable, the menu inviting and reasonably priced and the food well-thought-through and tasty to eat. And the service was good too.

Superb service and meal - a great start to an evening at the Barbican theatre. Our wine waiter (name beginning with A) was particularly helpful.

My wife and I enjoyed our visit to Côte, as always. The pre-theatre meal was delicious. Carlos (from Madrid) welcomed us into the restaurant and was very charming and attentive. We enjoyed a complimentary bottle of Merlot which had been offered from a previous visit. All the staff were very efficient and courteous. Brilliant! My wife has one comment: Could you put a wife-sized steak on the menu, ie. 7 oz. instead of 10 oz. She found the 10-oz too big ... but she thoroughly loved it, and ate all of it! Please continue to have such a high standard of cuisine. Keep up the excellent courtesy and charm of the front-of-house staff!

Very pleased. Pre theatre menu had many delicious alternatives and arrived quickly so no timing pressure. In the end we were 6 people not 8 as originally booked but that was not a problem. will definitely return

Good Cotê experience as ever. Good prices and plenty of staff with good decor. Food is consistently at least 4* (out of 6). Very handy for Barbican events

We had limited time for our meal before a concert and the service was excellent and speedy, and the food was very good. All we could hope for.

Excellent food. Great friendly service. Only fly in ointment was erroneous bill which didn't include special offer as apparently it didn't show on the system though it was confirmed when arrived with my guest

Good service and usual reliable food choices, very good value on the pre-theatre menu. Cote Barbican is always well-organised so it's a good choice if you're on the way to the Barbican.

Booked for a Sunday evening and glad we did. When we arrived there was a queue at the door. This was a first visit and we were seated quickly with a menu following in quick succession. Our choice of food was served acceptably quickly and was good much better than expected. Only slight disappointment was that I paid in cash and had to ask for my change as we were going to a concert. Management apologized and were willing to waive the service charge. the gesture was appreciated but declined because food and service had been so good.

Excellent service - food good value for money for location. We went before a concert at the Barbican so time was limited. Went for the pre theatre set menu - recommend it!

Good food, good service. All items of high standard, especially the coupe noir! We chose from main menu but set menu also looked very appealing.

The staff who were on hand worked very hard and looked after many tables to the best of their ability. Had there been several more servers then they may well have been able to deal with their diners to a satisfactory degree. What a shame the restaurant was under staffed as it took a considerable amount of time to attract the attention of an overly busy waitress/waiter

the staff and service were great but the meat was only warm. Clearly been left on the serving hatch for too long. the staff were very good about this and offered to take awat replace but eventually they simply took it off the bill. It will not affect my visits there as great value for money and very good service. this was a one off.

Delicious food, sea bass followed by dark chocolate pot. Great service, food arrived quickly, hot and, for us, not too large portions. Just what we wanted.

The pre theatre menu is cheap. My seafood linguine was OK. Couliflower sstarter was nice, though tepid. My companion's steak and frites was decidedly unexciting. A slab of meat and some chips. A bit of lettuce and tomatoes decoration would have cheered it up. The apple crumble dessert cannot be recommended. It was stodgy, actually unpleasant. OK it was only an extra £2, but cheap doesn't have to be nasty. An OK experience as a cheap pre-performance meal. Thankfully, the music was not too loud.

Pretty much as usual- we are regulars and live close by. We miss our contact with old friends on the staff. Dinner was rushed and impersonal at managerial level. This grates when one has known the place as long as we have. We have been almost weekly regulars since it opened. Food and wine good as always.

Whole roast Seabream - daily special - was excellent. Very fresh, well flavoured and perfectly cooked. Service was efficient but not pressured or rushed (previously service at this restaurant has been slow and given the impression of too few staff). Good value too.

We always seem to order the same dish, the belly pork. It is absolutely brilliant, without exception. And the crème brûlée is to die for. Hats off, Côte. Great resto to have just around the corner from where I live.

Food was good, location excellent, service poor. They never even took our drink orders so we were unable to order wine with our meal. They did not come back during the meal to make sure all was well, and by the time they cleared the plates, some considerable time after we had finished, the moment had passed.

Food was ok but service was slow. Had to ask repeatedly to order and although we had allowed 90mins for the meal there was no time for dessert...mm. Sons very dissatisfied.

Good range of choices for a pre-theatre meal, quantity perfect & fast, friendly service. Only comment would be that chocolate tended to dominate the pudding list.

Lovely food and good service however, several waitresses kept asking us the same questions (doesn't seem organised by section etc.) which is a bit annoying when you're trying to have a conversation. Furthermore, the angle of the chairs means that the paper napkin on your lap is constantly falling off - that may need a rethink/redesign! I would recommend a visit to Cote!

There were 8 of us - only 7 main courses arrived. There had been a mix up with the order. The restaurant was not busy so there is no excuse for such a mistake. Sad as the rest of us enjoyed the food and the service was attentive.

Worst Cote I have ever been to. Food tastes like it's coming from tubs. My sauce was frozen and hadn't even been thawed..Everything has a microwaved feel to it. Sorry, not good.

The quality of service was excellent. The food is presented very quickly and when a problem arose the staff dealt with it very appropriately. The problem at this restaurant is that the food is not always hot. One meal was dangerously cold with vegetables not heated at all and a meat dish not heated properly through.

The food and service at Côte Barbican were excellent and rounded off a pleasant evening at Barbican Cinema. But, being realistic, this is a competent restaurant chain rather than a Michelin starred house - hence 5 marks rather than 6.

Had early pre theatre meal for 4 of us. The menu was good value and had a number of good choices and the pasta and risotto chosen were of very good standard. The service was friendly and efficient and the restaurant although busy had a very nice ambiance.Would recommend

First time here, ahead of visiting the Barbican. It was excellent. We had the simple pre theatre menu and every bit of care was put in to this by the chefs as would be for anything off the a la carte. The food was well prepared and presented and simply delicious. Service was first class as you would expect from any of the Cote chain. Highly recommended and if we visit the Barbican again, we will be back.

Côte Barbican is our local, seven minutes walk away. We frequently go there for supper, before and after Barbican cinema trips. I also meet friends there for lunch. This evening, for supper, we were very well fed from the January menu - baked Crottin, sea bream, duck confit and lemon tart. Everything was very well cooked. The lemon tart, a whole tartlet, was not as good as the usual slice - pastry not classic. It was charmingly and efficiently served by Arjel from Greece/Albania. We had met him before and it is always a pleasure. Niggle: we had a voucher for a free bottle of wine but the choice was a Chardonnay or Merlot ☹️ no Sauvignon (as in previous years). The manager was not able to negotiate. It was pouring with rain or we might have gone next door to Iberico. We passed on the free offer and ordered the good Chinon. The lack of flexibility and narrow choice of offer was annoying and shows a lack of discernment.
