First two starter choices were not available. We sat down at 7 pm!
This was a great experience and i would recommend it to anyone:) the food was delicious and the service was great. I hope to come again soon
Chicken and chips is the best. Was a bit noisy with lunch time business diners but food was great. Recommend for a business lunch in the city.
Usual high standard. 6.15 sit down time but able to enjoy a leisurely meal and still be in my seat at the Barbican in ample time for the 7.30concert start time.
Service excellent. Food as always good. Probably tbe best Cote we have used.
we had a lovely evening with friends - the restaurant had a nice atmosphere, food and drink are well priced and overtall a great eveninbg had
Very attentive staff and the rapid plays truly were. Very impressive and had our meal completed in an hour.
Lovely tuna salad nicoise and steak fries, that came with a free bottle of Sauvignon Blanc. The service was fast, the food arrived soon after ordering and tasted delicious. Highly recommended.
We booked for a meal before an event at the Barbican. The food was lovely. We left plenty of time so as not to feel rushed however we did feel rushed and my friend who cannot eat quickly was feeling under pressure. This is not to say the staff were not nice they were efficient and friendly but came to the table several times and took things away. eg used glasses/condiments. This is often the case in the city but sis not help to make us feel relaxed and enjoy the experience. I have eaten at several Cote Brasseries in places across the country and overall really enjoyed them. This was not my best experience but not awful either.
The menu seemed a bit limited & the pudding was rather small
The service was so much better today, in comparison with a previous visit in November 2018 with the same group of people - table of 6 when we waited over 1.5 hours from having our starter to eating our main course. The food was excellent and our waitress was very efficient. All in all a very good experience.

As usual Cote Barbican staff were welcoming and efficient. We enjoyed a lovely meal in pleasant surroundings. The venue is ideal for anyone wishing to visit the Barbican Centre or the Guildhall School of Music & Drama.
The Cote Brasserie - Barbican, is one restaurant that has the same high standards of food and service every time my wife and myself dine there. If you are going to a concert or a film at the Barbican, book a table and enjoy quality food at reasonable prices.
The service was excellent and the food similarlly good. The only disappointment was the closure of the bar well ahead of the meal’s arrival. 10.15pm on a Saturday night in London doesn’t cater for those who have been to performances in the Barbican.
Service just too quick, almost like is everybody ready for home!!! Food good, service fine but too attentive and quick.
One of the worst lunches that I had in London, nothing to do with reasonable French cuisine ( I lived 3 years in Paris..). I probably made the wrong choices from the top lunch menu but the Calamari were terrible and the linguine so and so, pretty much oriented for a low level British taste. The Chardonnay was supposed to be full and ripe of flavour and it was bland (but still pricey). I will not repeat the experience.
Great service and consistently high quality food at a very reasonable price. One minor problem with a starter was immediately sorted. All dishes were excellent. Thoroughly recommend Cote
Lovely French food. Speedy pre theatre service. Helpful waiters. All good.
The overall experience was very good. Our waitress was very attentive and really friendly. We all had an issue with the portion size being a little too small- perhaps the pre theatre menu should be advertised as a light meal and then people would choose another menu if they were hungry. We chose two courses but even three courses would have been a light meal. Next time I would choose a la carte.
Excellent food, great menu choice, good atmosphere and service. Fixed menu very good vfm
It was fine, apart from the the fact that for the second time in just a few weeks, the complimentary aperitifs were added to the bill and I had to ask for them to be removed. It strikes a bit bit of sharp practice when this doesn’t happen automatically and depends upon the alertness of the customers. On both occasions I had mentioned the deal at the outset and on both occasions was only presented with the à la carte menu. On the first occasion I had to return to the restaurant to claim my refund as I hadn’t noticed the error at the time. This doesn’t inspire confidence. Robin
First class service. Quick, great food and ambience. Thank you
Excellent food and service as always from cote! We will definitely be back
Excellent food and service. Would definitely visit again. Highly recommend.
We were extremely disappointed that the manager argued with us when 3 steak frites came ice cold. We heard another table send back their food as it was ice cold. We had come in after the concert at the Barbican and as there had been three encores and a pause because someone fell ill during the concert it was about 9.50 pm and we were told the licence for alcohol ended at 10pm However the manager kept arguing with us that the food could not be cold as it had come straight from the Grill. Well it was ice cold and had clearly been left standing not under hot lights and all three plates of food were cold, she made the same argument when she brought the fresh food. She did take 2 steak off the bill and gave us our coffee and three mint teas as complimentary But that does not really compensate for a disappointing meal and poor customer service. Not the usual standard of food or service we have come to know and enjoy.
As usual, a visit to any Cote proves that it is simply the best for choice, quality food at incredible value and with consistent good service.
Overall a very good option for an early dinner. The welcome was pleasant as was the atmosphere. The food was good. The service wasn't bad but they were having some issues with the pay machines the night we were there so we waited a long time to pay which is a personal bug bear. A reliable place to eat generally speaking.
We had the most delightful waitress, smiling, terribly efficient and very attentive. The main course (steak frites and bream) and chocolate pot were excellent but the sardine starter was pathetic, so small amount of sardine one could hardly see it.

Good meal and service. Consistently good over many years. Dependable, enjoyable and reliable
As usual in the branch we had an excellent dining experience. The duck special was superb, tender, tasty with appropriate vegetable accompaniment. The service - our waitress was Sara - was faultless.
Fine with a caveat ... Main course arrived before we finished starters . Despite my request , food was kept warm under lights so it rather dried out. Unnecessary but credit to manager who arranged without fuss a refund Oh and the water glass smelt , left too long in dishwasher maybe ?
Staff were fantastic as always, but the chef was obviously having a bad night. My main course was so full of garlic that I had to send it back. They kindly took the cost off the bill, but I am still tasting it this morning!
Great location next to the Barbican. Perfect for a pre-theatre or pre-concert meal. Excellent food on a French theme, not overly complicated, just simple dishes done well and full of flavour. Breton fish stew is one of many highlights on the menu. Service is always friendly too. If you’re in the area in the morning the breakfast is highly recommended.
Very pleasant evening on Shrove Tuesday , nice aperitifs , good . food ( we had Duck and Monfish main courses ) and excellent pancakes !
Brilliant food and service. A really good lunch. Thank you Cote.

Wonderful value...service was great. Very friendly staff . Will definately come again!
Great food, excellent service. Tuna nicoise salad in particular was extremely good. Wine list is extensive and well priced. The perfect place to eat before a Barbican event!
The serving staff are great! It makes all the difference.
Usual reliable and enjoyable Cote food, and great staff as they seem to have in all their branches. One star deducted on this occasion as the restaurant was uncomfortably hot. I suspect they were caught out by the sudden improvement in the weather.
The overall experience was a great one. The staff were thoroughly friendly and the service was extremely fast, considering we lunched on a Saturday afternoon. Incredible choice of gluten-free dishes.
Great menu choices, tasty food and attentive waiter, (from Brasil) No waiting times at 5.30. Excellent for pre- theatre and close to Barbican. Would visit again! Thanks
Perfect for our pre theatre supper at the Barbican. A real taste of France in the centre of the city. Divine Sauvignon blanc at reasonable price.
WE chose the barbican cote for it’s location, right across the street from the Barbican Centre. It was extremely busy but we were seated right away due to reservations. We watched for a few minutes the rush of waiters before summoning the greeter who seated us. He took our order and in a very short time we were served the mains of minute steak and frites and chicken with mushrooms and potatoes in a delicious creamy sauce. Both dishes were excellent and a great value. Because we had more time, we also ordered desserts, chocolate mousse and apple tart. The mousse was our favorite!! We observed other orders beautifully served and would definitely recommend returning.
Good choice of food. Friendly staff. Prompt service. I would prefer the Service charge to be optional. If it is to be added to bill then increase foid ny 10%...Service shpuld be the choice of customer for staff going over and above.
Good food, good service and enjoyed the wine. What more an I say!
tried the swordfish on the specials menu. It was unusual and very tasty. I enjoyed it a lot. Also took advantage of the free cocktail offer and enjoyed that a lot too. We needed to pay quickly to get to a cinema in time for the start of the film and the staff were excellent making sure we left in good time in spite of the restaurant being busy.
The food was very good. My partner was particularly impressed with the number of vegetarian options something sadly lacking in most restaurants. The staff were lovely and there was a lively atmosphere. All at a reasonable price.
Not the best experience of Côte, very loud almost overwhelming noise levels. Poor food quality and just a small effort would have put it right but instead I was left waiting and waiting for a sauce that never arrived yet you were happy to charge me for it.
Excellent service, very helpful waitress. Reasonably priced menu...good range of dishes......................pork good, nice Crottin as a starter. Aware of Barbican start at 7pm..... Don't force me to write more than I want to !
