Excellent meal, really good value. They've really upped the staffing levels recently, so service is much quicker. Staff are friendly without being obsequious. It's buzzy without being noisy.

Great value as ever on the pre-theatre menu. Lovely to have the asparagus but it was a tad undercooked and therefore a bit 'woody'. Great service as ever and will be going back again very soon.

Cote is always a solid choice. Good food, not too expensive and a good atmosphere. The one at the Barbican is in the building with Cinemas 2 and 3 is perfect for pre or post cinema (or any event at the Barbican really as it's a 2 minute walk from the main building) or lunchtime for City workers in the area. Our lunch was very good and I only have one minor criticism. I ordered the steak and chips and the steak was a bit overcooked and dry. But really I didn't say anything and I'm sure it would have been promptly handled if I had. I have been there a number of times before this and will be back a number of times as well. A good choice for the neighborhood.

Always pleasant staff. Always well-prepared food. It's nice not to have loud music playing. Living in Scotland, we don't come down to London that often but this Cote is always a good experience and has maintained its standards over the years.

The waiters are nice and polite, though not always attentive to details ( brought hot milk instead of cold) In general they were diligent and nice to talk to and our supper was enjoyable

Usual warm welcome, and choice of seating - we opted for banquette, as there were three of us. New menus offer greater choice (although this makes it even harder to choose!) All three of us well satisfied with our m eals.

My table was waiting for me when I arrived and all the staff were friendly and attentive. The pre-theatre menu offered an excellent choice and there was also a good range of wines to choose from. My friend and I felt very satisfied as we left the restaurant and went to the concert at the Barbican.

Always excellent food. I enjoyed the Toulouse sausages with lentilles vert (green lentils). Service was also excellent and the price of lunch was very reasonable.

Nice food pity about the wine (by the glass). Bordeaux was not nice, Côte du Rhône I thought was just about OK but my companion didn’t rate it much either.

We go to Cote quite often as it is very convenient for us. Last night the service was reactive. Nothing happened unless the waiter was summoned. The steaks were a little tough. A starter didn’t arrive. Perhaps just an off night! Normally we have a much better experience.

Food was very nice but server not very attentive. He was not too engaging and not very helpful with food choices. Brought wrong drink and put it on the bill but to his credit later correct it . Other than that place is nice , food very good and would recommend it to fellow travelers.

Good for preconcert dinner at Barbican but allow time to find your way there. Quick and efficient service. It is quite noisy and crowded but that shows how popular it is.

This is a very convenient restaurant for dinner before attending a concert at the Barbican. The staff are pleasant and the service is very good so we arrived at the concert hall in good time without feeling that the meal was rushed. We choose some of our favourite dishes and were not disappointed.

We kicked off with a kir royale which was light and not too sweet. The salad starter was light and full of flavour, the fish was beautifully cooked and served on a bed of puréed green vegetables and the chocolate pot was a lovely rich treat to finish the meal.

Very good as usual, though vegetable purées with eg. fish, can be a bit bland. Better seasoning would help. Pre-Theatre Menu is very good value.

We were given a table in the window which was pleasant. The service and standard of food was excellent . By chance we both had the French Onion Soup and the Breton Fish stew and enjoyed the meal. As always the standards for a Cote restaurant were of the highest level.

Pleasant and near the barbican for lunch before the matinee We were told there was no whitebait and that we could have squid instead..whitebait then turned up which was delicious. Had my favourite steak frite and I have to confess the steak was rather chewy...in fact I brought most of it home for the cats. Good fries tho'

I'm a big fan of the Cote chain, but last night was both a bit of a disappointment and a really good experience! My friend and I ordered the chilled version of Vichysoisse, but were brought the hot version - quickly changed. We also both ordered steak frites (our favourite! which we often have), but the meat was overcooked. when a member of staff asked, a little later, "is everything OK?", we mentioned this. Immediately we were offered a rfeplacement, which we declined as we had already eaten some of the first steak without having complained immediately. So all that was a bit disappointing. The manageress herself came to our table and apologised, saying tbere would be an adjustment to the bill. I expected something like free coffee, but in fact the whole cost of the meal was deducted, and we only paid for drinks and coffee. Absolutely full marks. We will certainly be back at Cote before our next visit to the Barbican in a couple of weeks.

Food and service fantastic I ordered the lamb and pea and mint salad, it was lamb with thousands of peas and gravy! Not a salad in sight, this did not spoil our meal or experience, I assumed it was my misunderstanding and was not disappointed at all

As always, Cote delivered a super menu. The special ( veal escalope) was first class, and the creme caramel was up to the usual superb standard. I can honestly say that I have never been disappointed in the Cote food or the service, friendly and efficient as ever.

As ever, excellent value pre-theatre dinner. The set menu seems to follow the seasons well. My only quibble would be that the main courses are sometimes not as hot as they might be, although they will bring you a new main if you ask.

We took two friends from France to dinner at Cote Barbican and it was lovely. My partner and I arrived early and were given a glass of Kir Royale. We hadn't seen the manager on our visits since before Christmas and we were so pleased to find he was still there. He really does run the restaurant so professionally and efficiently. We had a lovely meal, very relaxed and we were able to have a pleasant catch up with our friends. The waitress was a bit over anxious to please but she was very attentive and our food and wine arrived promptly. As usual a very pleasant dining experience. Rachel Harper.
