First time here but it provided the same reliably good food and friendly, attentive service we have come to expect at the other branches of Cote we frequent.
The staff at Cotes Barbican always make the effort to ensure your time dining with them is a pleasure no matter how busy they are.
Unfortunately one of the chickens we ordered was not fully cooked. It had a markedly different skin colour to the other one ordered and had a small amount of red juices around the bone. Although we were given another cooked chicken this rather spoilt our whole evening.
Great venue, lovely food and good service. Ideal for seeing a show at the Barbican
Enjoyed the prestige set menu. Standard of food was good as usual (we had tomates Breton to start, and chicken and cod main courses). The service was friendly and efficient.
We had the July menu, accompanied by a bottle of Chardonnay from the south of France: Enjoyable. Good ambience, tasty food and very good service.
Thank you for making my graduation day so wonderful and pleasant to share with my family. The service was great, the food was simply amazing and the ambience lovely.
Delicious meal with a very varied menu. Attentive, friendly, fast and efficient service. Lovely wine! Nice atmosphere and clean surroundings. Would go again. Highly recommended.
The service was rather slow. Perhaps because it was very busy. But I did not see many waiters, waitresses on the floor. Rattertuet ( starter) was a disappointment. I wish you had the special drinks offer for all members ( arts centre, Barbican residents) even with set menus.
Great meal - I went for a fixed-price pre-theatre deal and my partner ordered from the a la carte menu. All of our dishes were delicious, and you would never be able to tell any difference between a la carte or prix fixe dishes. The fillet of plaice was soft and succulent, the crème caramel was a classic French dessert produced to perfection ,and the chicken liver parfait was a portion almost big enough for a snack all on its own. Delicious, authentic French cuisine, in a calm, polite, well-serviced atmosphere with attentive staff and good air conditioning.
Good choice of food and pleasant service. We ate pre-theatre and it seemed full on a weekday not long after we had arrived so woud recommend booking.
The food here was again excellent. The service was very pleasant and efficient and the environment quiet. This is one of my favourite Cote restaurants.
Food I have always found is of a very good standard. BUT THE NOISE LEVEL IS VIRTUALLY INTOLERABLE!! THIS APPLIES TO MY PREVIOUS VISIT IN HAMPSTEAD AS WELL!
Good food and excellent service. Barbican Cote can be noisy as it's a popular choice with cinema/concert goers. Go after 7.15 for a quieter atmosphere.
Very quick, pre-theatre service and very good food - and reasonably priced. We will certainly go back, especially as they offer a free Prosecco for Barbican members
Great service, great food, great wine, great value! I'm a fan of this chain and the Barbican outlet demonstrates why that is. It's stylish, airy, convenient and friendly. And the value for money food and drink makes it a sensible destination.
We had a very pleasant celebratory meal after a University Graduation Ceremony at the Barbican Centre opposite. Service, in particular, was exemplary and the only minor detractor was a slight bitter taste to grilled chicken (and steak - although this diner did not mind) - usually a sign that the surface grill has burnt food deposits and needs cleaning. The restaurant removed the cost of the chicken (although we hadn't asked for this) and handled this exceptionally well: a good example of how to turn a minus to a plus. Recommended.
Good food, good service but a little noisy. Very convenient for concerts. A little difficult to locate from inside the Barbican. We shall be back.
Incredibly slow service. We arrived 6.10. First course not served till 7.00, main course after much complaint (we were going to a concert at the Barbican at 7.45) at 7.20. We had the impression it was not the fault of the waiting staff, and we were given a much reduced bill.
The service and food were exceptional. The atmosphere is lively without being noisy or overcrowded. The Prix Fixe Menu represents excellent value and there is a good choice of wines.
Cote always delivers, with great menu and drinks choices, delicious food, excellent staff and a congenial atmosphere. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Cote Barbican.
A lovely evening - all individual requests responded to and food excellent. Service efficient and very helpful and polite. A nice environment - very busy at 7pm but very quiet after 7:30
good service, good food. we were happy with where we were seated and it all came quickly. special shout to the waiter who served us tonight, he was really nice an attentive
Great food and the set menu is very good value. Starters being cleared whilst one person still finishing their's was too hurried, otherwise service very good.
Cote Barbican is a great restaurant. As well as having excellent food, all the staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful. I love going there and go back whenever I'm at the Barbican.
Surprisingly quiet for a Friday evening - perhaps holiday season has started...? Service excellent, as usual. Thoroughly enjoyed our meal, presentation and preparation faultless. Breaded prawn + ham/ melon starters... Pork belly and a simple steak frites with green salad. Straightforwardly delicious.

This was not my best Cote experience. The restaurant itself is dark and industrial looking - in keeping with its location but not the best ambiance. Sadly the food was not up to Cote par either and the staff, although very efficient, were not particularly friendly. Sadly this is one Cote I will not be revisiting.
Great restaurant, good food, reasonably priced. Just not 6 stars as waited a long time for our main courses and was late back to work, but this was offset by a free round of drinks from the manager ;-)
Baked crepes were really salty and didn’t really taste freshly prepared. White wine was not sufficiently chilled. Service was nice and ambience in the restaurant great
Very disappointing. The food at Côte is normally of a much better standard. The onion soup was not hot, the cod wrapped in bacon looked totally unlike cod and very unappetising. The mashed potato was also lukewarm as was the cappuccino that followed! We only complained about the soup. The staff were very helpful and apologetic although it took a while for the soup to reappear. As I had a friend with me I did not comment further but did accept money off the final bill. This was well below the standard I have come to accept.
Poor experience, had diarrhoea within ONE HOUR of eating which I attribute to your salad and poor food handling practices. I've previously experienced this at Barbican Cote and that's been one reason for not using the place for a while.
The food very good, the service attentive without going over the top. My wife and myself had 3 courses and two Lagers, plus two coffee’s.
Not great - service good at first, but no-one asked how our mains were (they weren’t great) and it took 25 mins to raise someone to order desert. And the state if the toilets was unspeakable. I get the impression they are always full and don’t feel the need to try hard to please customers.
A bit disappointed by the bread - very basic toasts - but the food (and coffee) is great, fairly priced. Super nice and professional staff
We have been to Cote many times (various branches) including the one in the Barbican. The food has always been reliably good. However, my tuna niçoise was slightly disappointing this time - while the fish was fresh and cooked well, the salad was drowned in dressing. Other things we ordered were all fine. Service was efficient and friendly, as usual.
I like the perfect service, perfect food and perfect wine very much. My customers feel satisfacted very much. Very very good experience. Thanks you all. Thanks again. Wish to come next time.
Service and starters were excellent , thank you. However main course of steak au poivre surprisingly tasteless and fatty ( better to render fat so it goes crispy ) . Surprised because normally Cote steaks are fine .
Great location for the Barbican Centre, staff were friendly and welcoming. Food was good and reasonably priced pre-Theatre menu. I would definitely recommend if in the area
Arrived late for my resevation at The Barbican Cote due to an horrendous travel journey. Staff could not have been nicer or more understanding. Gave me a nice table and a complimentary drink whilst i looked at the menu. Opted for the set menu as was slightly short of time. Only blott on the landscape was that the Tomato soup - which ultimately was excellent - had to be sent back as it was barely warm. But my complimentary drink and some fine sourdough bread and butter compensated while i waited for its return! First class chicken dish with fries and a nice glass of wine. Excellent service, good food and a nice environment. Will return for sure. Great value too by the way!
Really enjoyed food and atmosphere set menu has great options, will defo use venue again, drinks are pretty expensive but that's to be expected in the city. great customer service.
Good meal and excellent location near the theatre.... food quality as always very good. My first experience in that restaurant recommended with my three friends. All very good and definetly going again soon.
great relaxed atmosphere food good and the staff very thoughtful and looked after us very well location for the Barbican was perfect. Good place to go for a family gathering
As always, our meals were excellent value-for-money and really enjoyable. Also, being a large group who do not see each other on a regular basis, we appreciated not being hassled to vacate our table. However, our dining experience was marred by the fact that the noise-level of other diners' conversations marred our being able to hear our own, although I don't know what could be done to alleviate this.
As usual Cote Barbican dd not disappoint. We went at a very quiet time and it was very relaxed and peaceful. Our waiter, Mark, was very efficient and friendly. He was very helpful and knowledgeable advising us about trying a wine we hadn't had before. The manager, as always, made us feel very welcome. He keeps the restaurant running to a very high standard. Another very enjoyable visit.
Staff were very welcoming and food was delicious and very reasonable. The set menus had a lot of good options. Would not hesitate in recommending Cote Barbican to others.
The choice of food was good, the food itself very appetising, the service excellent but the age-old problem of noise reared its ugly head yet again. I know all the Cote branches are noisy except Marylebone, so it would put me off going again. We chose Cote at the Barbican merely because it was convenient before going to a performance at the Barbican Centre.
Good service and lovely food. Will go back. Really nice piece of plaice and delicious salad. Their steak is really well cooked and good wine list
It's a lovely, clean and bright airy restaurant. We were having a late Sunday lunch. Once you have staff attention they are always positive and polite. However getting attention on a almost empty restaurant was not easy. I had to walk over from one end of the room to the coffee station to order our coffees with 4 members of staff stood chatting to take the order. Not impressed perhaps all the four staff were having a catch up, who knows.
We both really enjoyed our meal last night. The food was excellent. The only reason I didn't give you full marks was that our waiter could have done with a spell at "charm school"! He was efficient but unfriendly.
Good food, good service, have gluten free menu, reasonably priced, good environment. What else is there to want when having lunch with a friend. Not a lot.
