A group of 6 professionals met for a business lunch. The staff were very kind, patient and knowledgeable about the dishes. At times the restaurant was too busy and we had a hard time getting the attention of staff (e.g. when we needed another round of drinks). However, the food was delicious and served within a reasonable time. We would definitely return!

Had the prestige pre-theatre menu. Excellent in every way, particularly our waitress Tom. She was attentive, speedy and a pleasure to talk to! The only small negative was that the restaurant was very noisy and the sound echoed which made conversation difficult at times. Maybe look at ceiling ‘mufflers’?

Apart from wrong veg delivered - which was readily changed and for which they didn’t charge us for our coffee which was VERY generous - all was the usual good Cote standard. Always a favourite.

I ordered an apple juice with no ice but it came with ice. Then we ordered a pomegranate juice and instead they gave us a cranberry juice. I think they could do with a bit more attention to detail. Apart from that, the rest was fine.

Great value pre-theatre meal. Starter - duck pate with brioche was lovely. Rib eye steak and fries very nice. Attentive staff. Only criticism was that steak was very well done and I asked for medium-well. Still tasty though.

As usual my wife and myself enjoyed the food, always perfectly cooked, and presented by two waiters, one holding a large tray with our Salmon dishes and side orders, while the other waiter placed our orders on the table. If you are going to see a film next door in one of the two Barbican cinemas, the COTE is perfect place to dine before or after.

Usually I find that having a meal here is quite the best locally. However we had very disappointing service this time, although the restaurant was not full. Our aperitif didn't arrive until after the first course. The wine was slow to come after that and we had to chase several times. Food as ever was simple but very good

Excellent service. Our young waiter was very polite and competent. I ordered the salmon salad which was delicious. My guests enjoyed their meal as well. I've been to a Cotes restaurant several times this year and will continue doing so because I just love their food.

Very reliable chain. It was not very busy and service was efficient and friendly. We had Breton chicken, haddock, tuna and prawns and all the dishes were competently prepared. My only suggestion is that it would be good if Cote changes its menu more often as regulars may find the same menu (augmented only by two or three monthly specials) a bit boring.

Service was a bit haphazard- olives did not arrive until our main course arrived, hence we did not get a chance to enjoy them before food. Food was all over cooked and dry. A shame as this is a great location for us, and atmosphere and ambience is actually good at this restaurant.

We like going to Cote Barbican which is why we took visitors there. We arrived at 1200 hours yesterday, Sunday,on time. There were only ten other diners there. It took 15 minutes, and our asking, before even the menu arrived. Then there was another 15 minute lull before our order was taken and another delay before the wine arrived. 40 minutes to get a drink! Most unusually the stafff were unattentive and seemed much more interested in laying up other tables than in serving us. This continued throughout the meal - we had to ask for everything. There seemed to be some dispute amongst the staff as to who was serving our table. The food was fine but the service was terrible. The maitre d was not keeping is eye on the ball, Indeed no-one seemed to understand eye contact. A very disappointing visit. Professor R Garratt

We had been to Cote Barbican as guests a couple of times before and always enjoyed the food. As a result we invited friends ( who were visiting from Spain) to lunch as we were celebrating our wedding anniversary. Thankfully their meals were ok. Unfortunately my wife's fish was very dry and over cooked although she did eat it (as she did not want to complain as she thought it might upset the occasion). I did complain about my main (pork belly)which was hard ,dry and inedible, which was taken off the bill and a saving factor was the complimentary wine. The staff were helpful but didn't enjoy serving and clearing across everyone instead of at the side(a basic principle of 'waiting '). We shall visit again and understand the dining is 'casual 'but would be grateful of a little more attention to detail.
