We live locally and regularly visit Cote. As we sat down, at 6.15, explained that we were going to the theatre. We chose from the pre-theatre. Starters came quickly but main courses did not (a chicken salad and steak Frites). I was unable to finish my main course as we had to leave at 7.35 in order for show starting at 7.45. One hour 20 mins should have been more than adequate time for pre-theatre. I am not sure what happened last night but it was disappointing
It was all very good until we came to pay. No eye contact, no interaction and no definitely no thanks from the member of staff processing the payment. All other servers had been lovely and attentive so he let you down badly.
Everything was 5* - great food, service, speed and even some free wine!
Really great pre-event restaurant. Top service, tasty food. Highly recommend.
Nice atmosphere, timely service and very nice staff. Food was delicious It would be nice if you could stock Fever Tree tonics
We had the pre-theatre set menu and it was excellent value. Ended up rushing a bit because we had to go to the theatre, but overall a good experience.
Dining this afternoon at our favourite Cote restaurant in the Barbican, the food as usual delicious, and the staff are most friendly and helpful. We always look forward to dining at this restaurant. J.F. Stadden
Good food marred by bad service. Restaurant manager was very professional.
Tasty food-quick service and a lovely evening out thank you
Excellent pre theatre meal. Attentive staff and didn’t feel rushed!
Friendly and attentive service and, as usual, culinary excellence. Breton stew and fish parmentier superb.
Excellent service and lovely food. The perfect spot to eat before going to any performance at the barbican.
Great friendly service, delicious food, good VFM ££ Would recommend

The food was good as ever, we really enjoy coming here
Great option before an event at the Barbican. Gets very busy pre-show so best to book.
Had a pleasant and enjoying meal. Would recommend this to friends
Thanks -great as always! Good food and friendly service bye
Overall not bad but not great. The lobster starter was small and over cooked. Not good value at all. The main course was served lukewarm as if it had been standing for 5-10 mins. The food is generally very good here and the serving staff are always excellent and offer the perfect level of attentiveness. Today the restaurant food wasn't at its best. A pity because I really do like their menu. They was a family who let their young children run riot around the restaurant. Nothing was said to the parents asking Them to better control them.
Great food at reasonable prices, friendly staff and restaurant is very handy for the Barbican.
Great food at very reasonable prices. Delightful, friendly and helpful staff.
Great service, delicious food, wonderful selection. The perfect lunch before popping into The Barbican for an exhibition.
We had great food and great service at this cote. The popularity was indicative of the quality and value for money. I had duck liver pate and their Summer salad. My husband had calamari and pork tenderloin. My son had the calamari and a ribeye steak. All of our meals were cooked perfectly and we had ample portions. Highly recommend this Cote!!
Excellent service , menu choice and quality Very good indeed would recommend
Excellent staff, warm friendly and fun, especially with our children, who tried lobster for the first time. Slightly dried out in the cooking but a good first experience to try out lobster.
Atmosphere and service excellent food delicious an overall perfect dining experience
Excellent location, menu choice and service. The companions I took had never been to this place but now they are keen to return! We were waited on by Marta who was efficient, vigilant, helpful and extremely pleasant. What excellent staff you have.
This is a particularly nice branch of Cote. In particular, the staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful. Always a pleasure to go there.
Service excellent with very pleasant and attentive staff. Food delicious; perfect for a pre theatre dinner
Really good service. Quick and friendly. Perfect for a before theatre dinner
Tom the waitress was an absolute star. She was fun and quick and professional. Lovely time with her.
Efficient service, Waiters / waitresses were very attentive. Food fantastic
From the minute we arrived until we left the staff were very friendly and attentive
The restaurant was a little quite however we had great service with friendly staff. The staff were attentive without being over bearing and the service was efficient.
Very competent restaurant, french classics well executed. Service good , great for pre theatre meal
Well timed/efficient & friendly service. Watching the staff they operated like a well oiled machine. I’d definitely recommend!
Awful service and atmosphere We waited 20 mins before anyone came to offer drinks. Not usual for COTE as usually there is bottled water on the table. The restaurant was pretty empty and the waiter was not busy. In fact someone who came after us had their order taken before us. I ordered swordfish and it lacked flavour the Ratatouille was hard. I will never go back to this COTE again.
Very good food for the price You just need a couple more waiters
A really enjoyable pre-theatre meal. The mackerel pate was really tasty. And the Pork loin was really excellent. Great value. Good service.
Excellent meal, lovely attentive staff, pleasant environment. All in all a great post graduation venue. Only slight quibble was I felt the service charge was a little high. However, still far and away my favourite chain.
A great neighbourhood restaurant, serving good Brasserie style French food, always reliable, nestled in the heart of the Barbican , where musicians jostle with locals and visitors. A lovely place.
A good experience for a lovely pre theatre lunch. Thanks
Excellent! I had a perfect steak frites after a delicious little salad. Then followed that up with heavenly frozen berries and hot white chocolate sauce.
Very noisy. Hard to hold conversation with guests across the table
