Great location for the Barbican . All of the team were friendly and the meal was excellent. We decided to go off the main menu and the food was well prepared. Wine was reasonable in terms of quality and price.

A great restaurant for pre/post Barbican visit. Definitely worth another visit before the next concert! Also a good children's menu available - my grandchildren thoroughly enjoyed their meal.

Always a good experience at Cote. Speedy and efficient service, pleasant staff and good food at reasonable price. Often need to book as it is busy because of Barbican.

Good food, wide choice available, nice location near the Barbican centre, friendly efficient service, tables nicely spaced so not on top of each other. A most enjoyable evening.

The food was OK but the service was slow and we had come for a pre- concert meal. We arrived at just after 6pm but did not get our mains until 6.55pm after some chasing. We then had to wait for the bill, which we again had to chase. Myself and my daughter left so we could catch the concert. My husband arrived at the concert just in the nick of time. I appreciate the restaurant was full but the point of going to the restaurant is to be able to eat before the concert so you think it should be geared to doing that.

We have visited Barbican Cote a few times, and not only do you get the great quality and value for money that they always provide - especially from their pre-theatre menu - but the staff are always friendly and attentive! And also accommodating when they know you have to leave by a certain time for a show.

Rather slow service (booked 17.45,mains arrived 18.40).Steak frites v good but friend's sea bass disappointing, lacking flavour. The usually brimming chocolate pots were only 2/3 full and mainly creme fraiche.Replacements were provided with no argument but weren't much better.Modestly priced at 3 courses for £13.95,2 for £12.50 so can't really complain too vociferously.

Good choice of larger and smaller dishes, competent and friendly service taking into account diners going to a nearby concert needing to leave fairly swiftly, Good value for money. A cut above the usual chain restaurant.

Though one of the friends accompanying me and I are great fans of this chain, visiting the ones at the Barbican and in Tavistock Street with some regularity, this was a first-time visit for our mutual friend who was favourably impressed by the menu and food and wine ordered, served and eaten/drunk. Value for money, good menu selections and prompt service were all greatly appreciated by the three of us on Sunday, 14th May. Adrian Clark

I've been to many Cotes, many time before, but not this one until now. It proved to be well up to the standard i expected. Good tasty food, served professionally and courteously, and at a very fair price. Brilliant for a pre-concert or pre-theatre dinner.

Best three-course pre-theatre meal we had in our two-week visit of London, including many much higher-priced restaurants. The fish was done just right, and the salad was excellent.

Great food and good service. We all had the pre-theatre menu which is great value for money. The prossecco was a little warm though and a lot of restaurants are guilty of the same thing. Test it before you pour!

We were seated at a table near to the coffee machine which made it noisy. However, were friendly and efficient and the food was delicious. The fish pie would have benefited from more fish and less leeks. We would be happy to come again.

Excellent all round: good food, good selection, great prices, very good service. only small downside is that it was so busy it was a little bit noisy, but that's the result of the place being popular, which is thoroughly deserved.

Perfect location for theatre performance. One of our guests was celebrating her 60th and they gave flowers. Drink and presented candles whilst singing..ALL without charge BUT equally as important they were SO attentive to everyone dining there, not just our table.

I have to admit to being a very demanding customer but the Maitre de Rish could not have been more accommodating in finding me a table to my liking. The food was up to its high standard and l don't think you could get better value any where else in London.

Excellent, efficient service all round. An appealing list of seasonal specialities, a good set menu for pre and post theatre ( well situated near the Barbican ), and an a la carte menu with reliable standards. Definitely worth returning to.

For me Cotes are always reliable, if not exciting places to eat. This one is great for a pre-theatre supper at the barbican, the set menu being very good value. But book early so you're not in a rush - the service can be slow at that time of day as they get very busy (probably on account of the barbican's own eateries being poor quality and overpriced).

The food was excellent and the staff very helpful. As with most restaurants these days, the noise level was high and it is therefore difficult to always hear one's companion. But overall I was very satisfied as usual.

We Love Cote! Our party of eight was given a separate alcove which was unexpected and brilliant! The food was great as ever. Service good if a little slow at the end when we were rushing to a show at the Barbican!

Pre-theatre meal that was extremely tasty, imaginative and served on time! The serving staff were friendly and efficient. We were asked a few times through the meal for our feedback, so there seemed to be a felt concern on the restaurant's part to ensure the food was of the right quality.

Although we have eaten at many Cote Restaurants this is one we will not return to. Although a pre-theatre meal (which we would expect a restaurant at the Barbican to be geared up to) service was very slow. It took ages to give order (once chased) and our main course arrived one hour after arrival (also following chasing). The Asparagus starter was very undercooked and the chicken main was dry and tasteless. The only consolation was that the lengthy delay did not give us time to sample a desert before the play.

Croque Monsieur was raw bread and bland. Getting bored of sending things back and may have to find another venue for fortnightly lunches with my father.

I've eaten at a few different Cote's now and they've all been very pleasant. This menu is a nice mix for everyone. I love the Belly Pork, but this time the crackling was not crisped at all. When it was pointed out they did offer to sort it out immediately. Apart from that the food was lovely.

Poor food from the pre theatre menu. I have eaten at Cote before from the A La Carte menu and the food was 10 times better. I ordered the Piquant Chicken and the chicken was over cooked and burnt. There is a big difference between the pre theatre menu and the A La Carte menu in terms of quality. The staff were also quite rude. My mother ordered the soup and when she made the comment "there's no bread" the waiter replied in a blunt manner "it doesn't come with it" rather than saying would you like to order additional bread. Very disappointed, especially because it was my graduation meal and we expected better from Cote.

We always go here before a performance at the Barbican. We enjoy the food and ambience of a Cote. This time is was quite busy, and it seemed slightly under-staffed, but we had an excellent pre-concert meal.
